Disney Cruise

We're thinking of going on the 7 day Disney Cruise (to St.Thomas, St. Maarten, and Castaway Cay). Hubby, me, and 9 year old daughter. Have any of you been on the cruise, is it worth it? Do you know of a good discount travel agency? Any help would be much appreciated...

My 10 year old daughter and I went on that cruise last April. We had a great time. We cried our last night because we hated to leave. I would go again in a minute if I could afford it.
We booked it directly with Disney so I can not help you there.
The only tip I can think to give you at the moment is that we did not do any of Disney excursions because we just wanted to hang out at the beach and do a bit of shopping on the islands. We did it ourselves, using cabs. It was very easy and much, much cheaper that way.

We just did the 7 day cruises March 2th. We booked one year in advanced with a TA via Vacances Air Canada. The more you booked in advance the more you save.

On that board a lot of Canadian recommend to book through DU, they say that they give a good service.

We loved the cruise. It was our best vacation. We did only one excursion : Golden Catamaran in Saint-Maarteen. It worth the money.

I highly recommand the cruise. Go for it even if it is a lot of money.

We took the 7 day for our honeymoon in Oct. We booked through a ;ocal TA who books just cruises and we were VERY happy. We had booked a Cat 11 and when a promotion came out she got us a Cat 9 for $200.00 less. That paid for my spa! If you are interested I will give you her name. We loved her. Let me know.

We have been on 2 Disney cruises (3 day and 4 day) and are scheduled for our next this June (7 day). These ships are amazing and the cruise experience is something we really look forward to. We always book through our CAA travel agent - Julie in the College/Yonge office in downtown TO. Always get great service and great prices. Have a wonderful time - you won't regret your decision!

We have done the 7 day Aug 2000 and 3day land/4 day sea Sept/01. The 1st cruise we booked through a local TA and had a horrible time with them. They didn't know what they were doing, I learned everything from the DIS and they never returned phone calls. The 2nd cruise I booked through DU and had fantastic service. Dealing through e-mail was much better than local TA. Now I have booked our 3rd cruise for this Dec/02 again with DU because of their outstanding service, and they also had a credit at time of booking.

The ship itself is fantastic, you'll enjoy it tremendously!

I just booked 2 weeks ago through DU, after calling 2 local Travel agents who deal in cruises for prices. With DU, they were able to apply my disney club shipboard credit, and also got the rebate that DU was offering. They answered all my questions through email promptly.

The prices I got from the TA's were the same prices I pulled of Disney cruises website.

As it happens, yesterday I went to my local CAA office for some prices on WDW rooms only, they were not helpful at all. The ladies at the counter were not familiar with any of the WDW resorts. Unless your booking a package, your on your own. So, I currently have a moderate on hold through DU and will probably take it in the next couple of days.

Currently, my confidence in the local TA's is low.

I guess it depends on your TA. Mine even had a diploma from Disney. She took a course to be well versed in all things Disney.
