Disney Cruise shuns NY again

That makes sense and it's also too bad. I would gladly never set foot on Nassau again in my life but it's the only way to experience new DCL ships. But after our Wish sailing I'm done with boring Bahamas itineraries. If DCL is having a hard time filling cruises, they might want to consider that the lack of interesting destinations could really be a factor. Who wants to float pointlessly to Nassau and back over and over again? If I worked for DCL I would practically beg to at least be on the Wonder or Dream.

I guess my perspective is that offering Nassau "sea days" are the price Disney has to pay to get the rights to develop Lighthouse Point, and frankly, a five night DCL cruise that hits Castaway and Lighthouse seems pretty awesome, even if there is a stationary sea day parked at the port in Nassau. (I haven't been to LP yet, and while it's not Castaway level, it sure sounds like it'll develop nicely into a good secondary beach destination.)

I don't think Disney is struggling to sell their Bahamas cruises, based on their fares.

They are contractually obligated to visit Nassau x amount of times per year, and they actually just increased those terms. Nassau isn't a fan favorite but it's part of Disney's bread and butter. I also don't think it's quite as bad as people make it out to be.
