Hi!
Do we need to let DCL know we are DVC members when sailing? I know if you've sailed before and are a CC member, you get some goodies, can go to a get together, etc. Do they do anything along those lines for DVC members? Thanks!

We paid cash, not points, on our first cruise but somehow they knew we were DVC without us telling them. We got a DVC Member magnet on our door and they gave us a welcome letter with a special journal. Very nice!

We sailed last summer on back-to-backs on the Wonder as CC members. They knew both. We used points for our 4 nighter and paid cash for the 3 nighter and got repeat gifts for being both CC members and DVC members on both cruises! Just part of the magic!:thumbsup2

I am a newbie and have a question. We bought our DVC after booking our cruise. I was told they do things for DVC members on the cruise and there is a reception you can go to as a DVC member. Do I call the cruise line and let them know we are now DVC members? Does anyone know what they do for DVC people, if anything?

They should "just know" that you're DVC members. You will get a small gift in your stateroom & an anchor magnet on your door. Yes, there is a DVC reception...I didn't go as I was busy at the Martini Tasting :rolleyes1 but DH went. He got a small gift bag with a couple of DVC ballcaps & a pin & lanyards I think. Or maybe the lanyards were in our stateroom gift? Hummm...I can't remember now. They're nice ones tho - very soft material. I KNOW the ballcaps came from the DVC reception tho. It was pretty low-key I think (not a lot of people). He just went for the gifts!:goodvibes

Wow! Thanks for the info! I admit, I'm a sucker for a free gift.:)

I like that Disney seems to go out of their way for you, especially if you're a DVC member - just that little something extra makes you feel like your business is appreciated. Let's face it, in today's economy they are going to be depending on the repeaters and DVC folks to keep things going strong.

Thanks for the info - the DIS boards are such an amazing wealth of knowledge!
