Hello, all. My husband and I are planning a cruise for December of this year. We will be taking the 7 day eastern Caribbean cruise on the Magic the 14th-21st. We have 3 children- two daughters (will be 7 and 9) and a son that will be 2. Any reccomendations on rooms that are more quiet yet not to far from an elevator? What about anything we should ask a travel agent about? We have never been on a cruise and are very excited. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, forgot to add that we will be getting a deluxe family stateroom w/ verandah. Does this mean an open balcony or just a window? We want open. Please be specific with any advice. Thanks again.

We are doing the same Magic cruise and have two daughter 7 and 9 and a 4 yr old son. We did the 3 day wonder in the same size room and it was an open balconey. The only noise we noticed was in the early morning you could hear the chairs on the deck above being moved but that was it. Our kids loved the veranda in the morning and evening.
Take plenty of bathing suits. We will see you there.

You can compare photos of the various types of verandahs on my website at www.disneycruiser.com / www.castawayclub.com
Most of the deluxe verandahs are the same except for the "aft metal verandahs." The photos will show you what I mean.
If you get a stateroom near the elevators, it shouldn't be too noisy other than hallway traffic as it would be near the beginning of the hall. But that is mostly during the day when you would be out and about anyway. Personally, I like being as far aft as possible, at the end of the hall, which virtually eliminates hallway traffic noise. With kids, the farther walk would be a bit inconvenient, but for two adults who eat too much, we view it as an exercise opportunity.

We are on the Dec. 14 Magic as well...Deck 8 too...8532 AND also have a 9 yr. old daughter!!Looks like the girls will have lots of pals! On our last cruise we were in 8514 which was a great room. Right under the Spa so we never heard any noise and it was right by the forward elevators and stairs.

Wow, I bet the kids are going to love it as much as the adults! We don't have a room yet. I am trying to talk my husband into booking thru Dreams Unlimited- they gave us the best price. He doesn't like going over the internet, tho. He wants to go Carnival, because the baby's child care would be free and on Disney he is not. (Will only be 2). Rooms are bigger w/ Disney and I know Disney will be enjoyed. I have come to where I expect excellent treatment from them- we have always gotten it when we visit WDW. I have high standards now, maybe.

house of mouse..tell your hubby that the cost of child care on Disney is still better than sailing on Carnival, if that is his only objection. It really is a small price to pay in comparison. The two cruises are really night and day, with Disney winning hands down.
