Disney Cruise disembarkment to WDW

you need to check into your room or check in online. you can leave your bags with bel services and then catch a bus to a park. it's very simple and easy.

Ok so if I understand it correctly, we can leave our luggage with the hotel bell service and not check in to the hotel and go straight to the MK bus?

So am I correct in thinking that the sequnce for using Disney transportation to get from the ship to a WDW resort is as follows:

1. Disney will provide an instruction letter the night before disembarkment as well as tags to put on the luggage indicating where we can expect to find the bags in the holding area (if we want Disney to take the bags off the ship)

2. We will claim the bags in the holding area, go through customs, and board the bus with our bags (with the bags being stored under the bus)

3. We can expect the bus to leave around 9 am and get to our resort some time between 10:30 am and noon (depending on the number of resort stops prior to ours)

4. Once at the resort, we need to take bags with us from off the bus

5. We can check in, and if the room is ready, we can simply leave our bags in the room. But if the room is not ready, we can simply check the bags with bell services.

6. We can head to a park (and shouldn't necessarly expect to get there before noon at the earliest)

Is this right? And, if we're in a hurry can we simply skip ckeck in and check the bags directly with bell services as soon as we get off the bus?

your good on every point. the one thing I will point out is that with online check in it is possible that it could take less time to get lyour room key and drop off your luggage than going to bell services and doing a drop off. that of course depends on what resort your staying at. if its cbr for example and your room is last building out then it will take a while but if your at akl and you have a room close to the elevator then it is a quick process. I personally like to drop off my luggage first then I don't have to worry about them getting it to me later. i'm usually tired when I get back from the parks and the last thing I would want to do is track down the luggage. that however is all individual.

yes, we've done this many times. When you return to your room, call bell services and they will bring your bags when you are there.

I'm not sure you can leave luggage without actually checking in. I could be wrong.

just a few thoughts for you. the bus is pretty much right out the side door, it would be no further than the car pick up area, in fact I think it is closer. the other thing is with car pick up you are standing around looking for your car service with lots of other people who are looking for theirs to, where as when you go to get the bus you are directed to your bus and get on right away, no waiting and usually no line.
the other thing is whether or not you use the bus or car service you will have to take your luggage to bell services yourself. at least I have never experienced a driver that was willing to take my luggage to bell services. ymmv.

Good point. Now I may reconsider the bus. Decisions! Decisions!

Thanks for this info! I think I posted this earlier, but it's only myself and my young son that travel together, so there are a few challenges that go along with that. Nothing major, and I'm used to it ...but your point on looking for my car, while in crowds, with our luggage, may not be the best thing for us. I'm going to keep watching people's reports of travel time to resort...if it is seriously a 3-4 hour ride, then no way I will use the bus, and may have to deal with the other scenario.

My daughter and I had second seating for breakfast on the last day of our cruise in early March. Based on the wording in the letter telling us to depart the ship by 8:15 am, we felt we wouldn't have enough time to eat breakfast in the dining room, so we dropped off our gratuity envelopes and skipped breakfast, thinking that the buses would leave as they filled up. However, people continued to trickle onto our bus for nearly an hour and we departed at 9:00 am.

Based on this experience, I feel that the time in the letter should be changed to 8:30 am so that people with the second breakfast seating don't feel so rushed!

I think our travel time to the Polynesian was around two hours (we were the third stop).

We just did this on 3/17- we ate breakfast in our dining room and were the 1st people on our bus, which sat until 8:55am. Luckily, our resort CBR was first drop off, I had checked in online and we already had our magic bands and I received a text that my room was ready so bell services took us and our luggage to our room, I didn't have to stand in line and check in or anything. We threw our stuff in the room and headed right back out and hopped on a bus to MK. Our 1st FP was 11:30-12:30 and I think we were on right about 11:30am.
