Wow! You have been busy! I feel so behind! I still don't even have my dress!
I have your PJ marked so I can follow along on your planning! I also got an email, just with her introducing herself. I better get busy!

I am the queen of favor bags!!! Check out my PJ to see, and as I get farther along, I'll add more photos!

I bought Royal Blue canvas tote bags from Hobby Lobby and glued silver ribbon along the trim (later there will be a flower with a gem in the middle to cover the ribbon seam) I had two of the DIS-igners design me some wedding logos- I highly recommend that more people do this! It's a great way to personalize your favors! I used iron-on transfers to affix the logos to the bag, and I'm eventually going to use stencils to paint some filigree around the logo.

INSIDE the bag:
Glow-Sticks (Target Dollar Spot)
Home-made Mickey Soaps - TWO kinds! (www.brambleberry.com for supplies)
Post-It Notes in a paper wrapper with another wedding logo on it
Mickey Plastic Ice Cubes
Nautical Magnetic Pad of Paper (Target $ Spot) for the door
Nautical Pens (Target $ Spot)
"I'm Here For The Wedding" Magnets (designed by a DIS-igner) for stateroom doors
Magnetic "Character" Name Tags (from the Cruise Magnet forum) for stateroom doors
Personalized books of Matches (100 on sale for $19 from TheKnot)
Chapstick (bulkapothecary.com)
Lint Rollers (2 for $1 @ Target $ Spot)
Mickey Band-Aids
Polysporin, single use
Small single-use Sunscreen tubes
Anti-Bacterial Hand Wipes
Shout Stain Fighter Wipes
Vials of Pixie Dust! (Small vials filled with a mix of iridescent glitters, with ribbon around it and a 'hershey kiss' sticker on the bottom)

The way I see it, a lot of these items will be useful and most of my guests (my current count is 45!!) won't remember to bring along things like a lint roller or shout wipes! I'm trying to have some practical items along with a few things they can bring home to enjoy! I still have match books from my cousin's wedding 7 years ago! Another item I REALLY wanted to get (but probably won't) are personalized Koozies! You can get those at www.beau-coup.com and I would've filled them with candy wrapped in cellophane... Who has ever thrown away a free koozie, am I right? I would also really like to find bulk "Ring Pops" as a fun wedding-y favor. I'm also considering making cheap-y luggage tags by printing a template I have, printing them on card stock, and having them laminated. Then you can just punch a hole and tie a pretty ribbon loop and use a pen to fill in your address.

ALSO, I got an e-mail from the new wedding planner! Meredith Gallinero. I hope she meets and exceeds our expectations!

And for the DIS'er looking for photographers, I'm using Lora Rodgers (http://lorarodgers.com/) because she offered to come along for just the cost of the cruise! I get her ALL day and I'm going to get a CD of all the the edited images :) I don't think she'd agree to go for free again, but it's great to know that you can find photographers willing to do it for the experience and fluffing their portfolio!

Love the towel idea!! Did you design it? I checked the website but didn't see where you customize it :confused3

I got the Idea from another DIS Bride Lisa Who is now my Travel Agent.

When you go to the webpage click on the embroidery link on the left hand side then click towel embroidery link.

It will bring you to the page where you can fully customize everything for the logo I told them to use the mickey head from a previous job they did (Lisa's) the job #HY0330 you can see it here http://www.cottonfruit.com/wedding.htm

the cost of the embroidery for mine turned out to be 3.75 per towel plus the cost of the towel of 6 something there fore each towel being a bit over 10 bucks each.

My vow renewal is coming up on the Fantasy real soon. We reserved a disney photographer package, those of you that have used a Disney photographer were you happy with the pictures and poses?

I had my vow Renewal in January on the Magic.
Our photographer was good, but like the OP said be sure to let them know what pictures are most important to you.

I wanted the smoke stack background and he took them but when we got the pictures, the top was cut off and you couldn't see the mickey head.

Remember, they are not wedding photographers so they aren't really trained at what spots to hit.

Look thru past renewal and wedding pictures to get ideas. We meet with ours the day before the ceremony and told him what we wanted.

Write down what you want and give him/her the list so they know.

I am making the guest gift bags for our son's upcoming wedding on CC. Some things not mentioned that we have are Hangover Kits (cello bags with Advil, Pepto, and Alka Selzer), waterproof lanyard for KTTW card, deck of cards, small hand sanitizers that have an outer case you can put on a belt loop, disposable camera with a note to take pictures during the cruise of wedding guest and give the used camera back on the last evening, maps of the ship, individual beach themed Kleenex packs, travel size wrinkle release, individually packaged snacks,
Travel sewing kit, individual Crystal Light packs, personalized luggage tags, and crossword/word search/sudoku books. The bags themselves are Lands End canvas totes that were on sale.

Posting so I can dream about a future vow renewal!!!

OK I love those bags from old navy. How did you get them for free?? Did I miss a sale?? and does anyone know who replaced Shanda?

Thanks. I have Old Navy's Snap Appy on my iPhone and everyday you can scan an ON logo to score coupons, etc. I happened to get a $10 off any purchase and a $5 off any purchase. The bags are priced at $1/each - and because the coupons didn't have any minimum amount to spend, they were free :)

They weren't quite the bags I was looking for, but FREE, I'll take them!

Does anyone know where I can order affordable starfish soaps?

I make soaps :wave2: I have a small starfish mold (ice cube sized) but they could be embedded into a larger soap, perhaps with a sandy colored background to make it look like a starfish in the sand- I could even embed ground loofah into the "sand" for an authentic 'gritty' sandy feel that's also exfoliating! Check out my PJ for photos of my soaps, and PM me with any questions! I live in Orlando just next to Disney :thumbsup2

OH MY GOSH, those are some good ideas! I love the "Hangover kit" too funny, but also useful! I love the ideas for disposable cameras, I'd heard of these used at receptions, but I hadn't though of that for gift bags! Where did you get beachy kleenex packs and travel sized wrinkle releaser? And Crystal Light packs are such a good idea for sprucing up water in your stateroom! So many good ideas, Kudos! :goodvibes

Those were my qualms, exactly! When I was on my last Dream cruise in January, I had put two-and-two together that their cm's that take photos of guests on the stairwells or against a backdrop were the ones who also take photos of the weddings. In the parks, Photopass is a great service, but do you really want a photopass photographer for your WEDDING photos? Ahhh, I'm thrilled that I found a photographer to bring along with me!

Posting so I can dream about a future vow renewal!!!

Welcome! I hope you enjoy our posts! Make sure you check out everyone's PJ's and TR's for additional photos and ideas! I hope we can convince you to go for it and have a fantastic Vow Renewal!

Don't remember where I found the tissues online. Personal size Wrinkle Release was from Target. If you make the Hangover Kit, print labels to seal the bags closed
with out of focus letters that say, Hangover Kit, the are really cute.

Ahh! Exactly 2 months until I set sail... Is it time to freak out yet?!?!?! :scared: Wish me luck! Work is only going to get hotter and hotter and busier and busier draining all of my energies making it harder and harder to get anything wedding-like done! Wish me luck, it's officially CRUNCH TIME!

Hello Ladies! I just spoke with Meredith to confirm my packet before she sends it to DCL (I got commended for filling it out so thoroughly! I sent in my sheet music, and the photo of my cake topper with dimensions, and even submitted a request for the ERA dining rotation that includes Table 82 in the center of Royal Palace!) There's a couple things I want to send your way from out conversation!

First of all, they have discontinued the use of Light Pink Roses from the Solid French Bouquets- the reason being that they tend to look more like a dingy and brown-ish pink. Yuck! Also, you can only have TWO colors in a Solid French Bouquet! So instead of having a Red, Hot Pink, Light Pink bouquet, I'm going to have a Red and Hot Pink bouquet. Also, each french rose bouquet is said to have approximately 30 roses.

I also asked at what point we will learn who our onboard coordinator is, but unfortunately my answer was "When you meet them on your embarkation day" haha, okay- I understand that somebody may come down with an illness or other circumstances may affect the coordinators... but I still want to know! Alright, I guess I'll have to be patient! I've met the onboard coordinator, Laura (Very nice British girl) and she was incredibly helpful with all of my questions- so I guess I'll just have to cross my fingers that she'll be there... (And captain Henry!)

Everything else went well in our conversation. Meredith just went over all of the details of my entire packet confirming them before she sent it to DCL. In about a week I should get another update e-mail from her with the budget and signature form. The final payments (the $20/guest fee and the crystal Mickey pins in my bouquet, etc) are due 30-days prior to sailing, and 1-2 weeks prior is when I receive my welcome letter from the cruise line with all of my finalized plans. *phew* It's good to have an end in sight, and it feels good to have these things laid out for me! I must say that I like Meredith very much, and she's so energetic and attentive (unlike a former wedding coordinator we had, hah!) and I look forward to working with her further!

I hope some of this was helpful! This page has been pretty dead lately! There must be some prospective or newly booked DCL brides that have questions! There must be some soon-to-be DCL brides that are nearing their embarkation! What are the things you look forward to most? What ways are you personalizing your wedding experience? Lets get some dialogue going! ::yes::

I'm getting married on the Dream next May and of course they can't tell you time/location until 45 days prior to the cruise, but does anyone have a best guess of date? It's a 4 day Bohemian cruise. Also does anyone know if I will have time to go take pics on the beach prior to or after my ceremony?
