Hi everyone :wave2:

Does anyone know if the cost for additional guests needs to be paid prior to sailing? Also, if you pick a picture package do you have to keep it if you decide the pictures are not so good?

Thanks :)

We're getting married in May 2012 on Castaway Cay and have already received our planning packet. Shanda included the following due date reminders in our email confirmation.

90 days prior to sailing: payment for wedding package is due (2500 onboard or 3500 castaway cay)

60 days prior to sailing: planning packet must be returned to DFTW; you have to list each guest w/ room numbers in the packet

30 days prior to sailing: payment for additional guests & wedding extras is due

I'm not sure if you can decline the photography package after reviewing the pics but that is a good question. I too have mixed feelings about onboard photography after reading reviews on this board. Hopefully, over the next year more DCL brides will share their experiences/photos aboard the Dream to help me decide :)

Jen

From what I was told you have to pick all your pictures that you are going to accept on the cruise...I am assuming if you don't like any of them you TELL them that...I would not pay for something I was not happy with either.

Side note, I would make this known up front as well :)

Hi everyone! I tried to change my onboard ceremony to a CC ceremony but it is already taken. Now my questions that I am worried about are.. Am I still able to purchase a photography package on CC for my wedding party to get some pics? and Will they do the ceremony on our sea day? because we wanted to do the dolphin swim with our kids. If we have our ceremony on Nassau I don't believe this will be an option. Thanks in advance for any responses. This website is great!

I hope someone answers this for you...I believe only the wedding on the island takes pics on the island as that is what they are paying the extra $$ for...I would def. ask though, Disney can make things happen ;)

As for the ceremony times I would think one of the girls who was married previously should be able to help you out with that...I do know that the ceremony on Castaway Cay is at 10 30 AM!

I am on the 3 night cruise and we are getting married the afternoon we are in Nassau. Not sure if it is the same in a 4 night.

Usually somewhere between 4 and 5:30ish, depending on if they have more than one.

My co-worker just returned from a 4-night Disney Dream cruise. She was attending a family member's vow renewal. Her family had to cut their Atlantis excursion short to get ready for the cermony. Vow renewal took place on their Nassau day at 4:00pm in the Outlook Lounge.

LOVED the photos, thank you for sharing!! :)

I also loved how you had the table set up for the cake, did they provide the rose petals or did you?

What flavors did you go with as well...everything looked so great...loved your colors as well!

Thank you! Our photographers name was Vishal. He was sooooo nice! we loved him and he was great!

I paid 17.50 for the small pack of rose petals for decoration on the table and floor. so they provided them.

I went with buttercream and chocolate cake. It was ok. I would def try a different one if I had to do it over again. The chocolate was delicious though. and as i said the buttercream was just ok.

I have heard that before to stay away from the butter cream...I am thinking of doing the bottom as vanilla/and not sure what to fill and the top layer with chocolate cake/choc. mousse filling!

I am defintely going with the rose petals for the table as well :) Glad they offered it to you :)

I was going to get the tikki torches but now think I will bring rose balls that I have made out of silk to hang on the chairs, I saw this in a magazine and it looked really nice...

Shannon - I am getting married on May 8th, and my sister with her children are doing the 9am dolphin swim and should still be able to make it to the 4pm wedding. Shanda is aware of the time and was very helpful in arranging hair apts etc to accomodate their excursion.

My coworker thought the Outlook was small. They had a party of 10, and she doesn't think my party of 45 will fit for our reception after Castaway Cay. Her niece (the bride) was very impressed with the whole experience and DCL service. I haven't gotten any other details beyond what I've shared, nor have I seen any pictures. I'll definitely try to find out more next week.

Jenn -
Thanks so much for sharing! You're getting married the week before I am - can you believe this time in 4/5 weeks we will be settling in the terminal, and getting ready to board? Very exciting :)

I think so! Disney/Shanda does such a nice job of taking care of everything, it really does make you a stress free bride. Ask me how stressed I am during the week of your wedding and I might think differently - ha!
I'm starting to actually shift my focus to the cocktail reception we're throwing to celebrate once we get back! (invites, guest lists, hotel room blocks, yada yada yada)
Best of Luck to you & Congratulations!

Question to anyone who has/is planning to get married on Castaway Cay.

The Bahamian Marriage License Application besides categorizing me as a Spinster (no I'm not over it yet :rolleyes1) it says "Please mail/fax a copy of the Bahamas form along with copies of your Photo Ids and Birth Certificates to Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings. Keep the originals with you." Does this mean we have to bring our original birth certificates with us? We were planning on brining our passports for the cruise identification.

I haven't even looked into the FL marriage license application stuff yet, so I'm not sure how it works there either. Anyone have any insight?

I know you can go the Florida license by mail through Brevard County. Not sure about the Bahamian one as I an getting married onboard.

I don't know if I'm just lucky but I sent Shanda my first email with specific questions for our CC wedding concerning ceremony music and it only took her less than a week to get back to me. :woohoo: She explained she would need to confirm with DCL a little bit closer to the sailing if the pianist would be able to play some soft backround music throughout the entire ceremony (not just processional and recessional) and if I would be able to serenade my fiancee before the vows. Completely understandable as my sailing isn't for another 13 months! :rolleyes1 She was able to confirm that I would be able to provide sheet music for my pianist to play instead of dealing with CDs. :dance3:

Im rather surprised that she was able to get back to me so quickly, especially knowing how busy she gets.

I would like to know as well as I only wanted to travel with my passports too...

our song came on my ipod the other day when it was on shuffle, and I laughed to myself because when we got to the ship..I took the sheet music to the pianist and asked if he was able to play it..It just didn't occur to me that this complicated piece would be a cake walk for Adam...Just took it and played it right there in the bar...AMAZING!

What was the song? As a professional pianist, he should have some sight reading skills so it's good to know that DCL pianists can sightread well. Not that sight-reading is enjoyable, God knows how I cannot wait to pass my music theory classes and not have to sightread three times a week for an hour :( I'm hoping to give my pianist some Disney sheet music and ask him to just improvise between them. He could play basic chord harmonizations and I would be happy :D

As you can see, the music nerd in me is starting to show! Lol
