AHHHHHH so DisneyDmbNut knows who I was talking about with the "out there requests" I truley do believe that that kind of thing has ALOT to do with ALL of this.

Hmmmm Lets all get out our Bathing suits and get married on the beach. Lets rent out Palo for just our party. Who cares who else is on the sailing! I think Miss B2B ruined alot of this for future Disney Brides!

While i agree that it was most likely her....SHE'S GONE!! And she got NOTHING! DCL went from 1 extreme to the other!

Actually, now that I am thinking about it..Cathy DID tell me the ship had no way to cut and arrange the floral I was bringing on board. That is why I had the florist deliver the 2 glass cubes. I figured if they didn't let me do it, I would just keep the flowers in my room.
That was Marco's call..I went to him and asked if I could put 2 floral arrangements on the table. He said no problem, but must have forgotten because when we took the arrangements down that afternoon..he had put the standard floral for the room there. He said he was trying to make it nice for us. They really do so much onboard!!

Quick note on the copyright issue...

It was super easy to get the OK for me to use a Micky and DCL image for my invites. All I did was send a pic to Brie. She sent it on hight and I get approval in like 2 days.

I also found out also that if you bring your own flowers on board you can request a fridge for your room to store the flowers. You just have to check in early to request it or have a Cat 3 or higher room.

If you want to make like announcements or programs....it says something about it has to be APPROVED before you can use them. It says you cannot use DISNEY COPIEWRITTEN things.

It said someothing about favors, and them having to be approved by them also. DD was thinking (this is how she explained it) like if you wanted to give something with a Disney Character or something it COULD NOT be a cheep knock off from China...they will not deliver things I believe she said.

If the actual wording of her contract looks something like this, it is not new and has been Disney policy for all Fairy Tale Weddings for years now; I have never heard of it being invoked by Disney to prohibit couples from using Disney characters in their paper items and favors:

PROMOTION; THIRD PARTY MATERIALS

You shall acquire no right under this Agreement to use, and shall not use, the name “Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings” or the name “Disney” (either alone or in conjunction with or as part of any other mark, word or name), any depictions of the Resort (or any part thereof) or any fanciful characters, trademarks or designs of The Walt Disney Company or any of its related, affiliated, or subsidiary companies in any manner whatsoever, provided, however, that, notwithstanding the foregoing, you may use photographs and videotapes of the Wedding for your personal use and enjoyment. Finally, you may not use or display (or cause or allow to be used or displayed) any names, symbols, logos, tradenames, trademarks, copyrighted works, fanciful characters or other similar materials owned by, or identified with, any third-party in connection with the Wedding.

Hi Carrie.:goodvibes

Just wanted to catch you while you are on. Slightly off topic but with regards to the cruise wedding price. Can you tell me if tax is included in the $2500 onboard cost or do I need to factor that cost into my budget?

Just found out today that my MIL and FIL want to join us on the cruise to see us get married!:yay: So pleased that they want to come. Its certainly not cheap travelling all the way from the UK.

Thanks!:thumbsup2

Yes! Like the Escape Collection package at Walt Disney World, it includes all tax and service charge. You would just pay those on any items you add, like extra beverages or floral.

These rates are different on the cruise line than at WDW: Tax is 7% and service charge is 15%.

:thumbsup2

I don't think that includes the taxes. My total amount for the cruise includes our cruise fair for each person, the VR fee, then the taxes and the government fees etc. I'll have to look it up and then post it for you.

Also - in regards to everything else - I too was told that they would not set out anything or give out anything for me either. Well, now it is just my family and no guests, so it really isn't an issue. BUT I wanted to bring some silk flowers and a few items for the cake table - like my glass slipper, etc. Nothing crazy and over the top. And I was told by Brie that DCL would NOT have anything to do with it. Cathy had told me that it would be ok if it was only a few things, then when Brie 1st came on, she said the same thing.

Now the answer to that is no. So I am bringing it with me and I am going to have my husband set it out b/c it should take like 1-2 minutes to do so. Maybe the onboard coordinator will be nice, and I'll get lucky.

But I am to the point that I would just rather not stress about it. It's paid for and I'm going to get what I get. The things I can't do - like the sand ceremony -(I've gone back and forth about it) I am just going to do at the beginning of my at home reception.

Ok bit confused now! But then that doesn't take much!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I know I have to pay tax and fees on the actual cruise cost. But from what Carrie is saying I don't have to pay anymore on the actual cost of the wedding. Is that right?

So its $2500 and thats it, unless I choose to add on any extras, right?:teacher::idea:

Disney's information does not say anything about tax or service charge being assessed on the package itself, just on "additional enhancements"...

However, I am dead curious to hear what CinderelliT turns up in her paperwork - whether the taxes and fees are assessed on the cost of the cruise + the DFTW package, or just on the cruise. It would be pretty disappointing if they didn't mention that very important detail...

The $2500 is added onto the cruise price. When you look at your cruise confirmation it will be $2500 more then the base cruise price. Like if I remember correctly mine was $5000+ under the cost of the cruise. The Travel Agency got commission on the full price. It isn't added on seperatly. Taxes and fess were added, but I can not remember if my taxes and fees were any higher then any of my guest taxes and fees. I will check on my conf. at home.

i'm pretty sure there are no taxes or fees on the $2500. when we switched from CC to deck 7, our priced dropped exactly $1000.

Jen....you have to eat at Palo....it is oooohhhh soooo yummy at every level.

Poohbear....we had too many for the private room, and it was already booked, so they created a huge round table for us in the middle of it all. In my opinion it was just fabulous....more people looking at ME!!! :lmao: We could see the kitchen area, and they just paid so much attention to us. I think there are some pictures of where we were in my TR, so take a peak.

So don't fret about not having the "private" room. And just make certain that when you board, you get your coordinator on it. They are the ones that will help you the most, and bend over backwards to make the things you want happen.

We are trying for Oct. 2010. so we are trying to figure a few things out as far as guest list and all that. We want to have a group at Palo but aren't sure if we will have too many people or not. We are just trying to figure out the what if's for now. So my question is... If we have more than 14 ppl, how would I go about doing what you did and getting a huge round table in the middle of the dining room. Would I have to wait until I got on the ship to speak with the wedding coordinator or should I have everyone in my party book a ressie at Palo for the same time and ask to be seated together? Should I book exactly 90 days out? oh so many questions :scared1::eek::sick:

I know I could search and find this but I appreciate someone just telling me.
What is the price for a wedding on the ship and on Castaway Cay? Is there also a post with the upgrade prices? Thanks so much for your time.

For 2010 the wedding onboard is $2500 and Castaway cay is $3500.:thumbsup2

Not sure with regards to what upgrades you mean but in my PDF it says the bouquet upgrade cost is $75.
I believe photography starts at around $450.

If you have a wedding booked, you can book your Palo at 105 days..maybe you should call DCL or your TA and ask how to book a group. Cathy at DFTW did mine with all the confirmation numbers on my packet..but I guess that has changed.

I had all of our reservations linked once they were all booked, so the cruise line knew we were all one party. Because we were VR people, we had the advantage of booking Palo at the earliest time, 105 days, so I went on-line and booked that night at the time I wanted. I also had Cathy know what we wanted. When we got on the ship, I made certain that Florencia also knew. It was all magically taken care of.
