Tut tut, this thread dropped to page 2!:scared1: We can't have that!:goodvibes

How is everyones planning coming along? I have booked our cruise now and we are just waiting to officially hear from Brianna at the beginning of November.:cool1:

I have been looking at dresses online to get an idea of what I want and all I have managed to do is confuse myself. I love all the princess type dresses but not sure they are practical for an onboard wedding. Also when we dine at Palo that evening would we go in our wedding outfits? It would just be myself and the groom. My MIL and FIL will be dining with our boys in one of the normal restaurants.

So I am now looking at maybe a simple dress without so much "puffiness!":surfweb:

i'm wearing my dress to Palo that evening! I plan on wearing that dress for as long as i can until someone drops something on it! :rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Get a wipe clean dress then it won't matter!:lmao:

I would like to wear my dress to Palo. If they are used to brides in their gear then I'll go for it!:cool1:

OMGosh! I stumbled upon this last night! I LOVE the one on the left! I think it would be perfect for our VR! It's almost $300 though!

I sent out letters to close family and friends to give them a heads up. That is about all I can do for them until summer 2011 caribbean dates are released.

Is it possible to pay and get Mickey and Minnie to come to your wedding/cake cutting etc?

What are my chances with being able to book a wedding late next June? Do they usually fill up fast? I wish the wedding office had better hours, like evening hours, email etc.

I am reading through the threads but if you can point me to one with all the fees (hair, enhancements etc) I would appreciate it.

Reading through the posts it seems like some people are very unhappy with a Disney cruise wedding. What is the problem? (I am trying to read several threads at once and thought someone may explain it in just a few lines.) Do you regret doing a cruise wedding? thanks

In a nutshell, those of us that have already had our DFTW on DCL were very happy with the service and have wonderful memories. Things have changed recently and requests are not being honored and changes to what is 'allowed' have changed, thus the big uproar. DCL is making it a cookie cutter wedding or vow renewal for an even higher fee. If you are contemplating a Castaway Cay wedding, I'd spend the extra $1k and go with a DFTW at WDW! (that's my interpretation in a nutshell, lol).

1. Yes you can get Mickey and Minni, at a fee although I don't recall what it was, I do remember it was more than I was willing to pay for the 30 minutes.

2. On a 7 day cruies, there are 3 weddings allowed, if I am not mistaken. You should be able to book it, if your cruise is booked. The best thing to do is to call the wedding coordinator number and leave a message; every day if you have to.

3. We were very happy with our VR. Thought the price was fine and we received what we wanted. We were also did not do alot of changes to what they offered. I think, as Patricia pointed out, the changes that have occured over the past year have left some of DCL's VR/brides angry and lost. If you were to book now, knowing what you had coming to you, and were o.k. with those items, I am certain you will have a wonderful time. I have not one regret with our choice.

Good luck.

I am with April...wear it as long as possible. I wore it from the ceremony, to Palo, to the dance hall.

I also was going to go with something low key, and I went over to David's Bridals and lo and behold for $99 was a haltar style gown with very little beading (see my TR for pictures) and there it was!!

I wore mine everywhere too! I wish I had stayed up later than 1am and wore it to breakfast!!! haha

I did tell DH the other day..I am glad we did it last year. I would have been very upset to pay double what I did and gotten less. I didn't do anything outrageous, but I did make changes to make the ceremony more "us" and I would have been upset to just have a cookie cutter.

I also told him, I really do feel bad because no matter what, I do feel like I might have had something to do with the changes. I remember coming back and saying if the outside floral got to be too much, they wouldn't do it anymore because DCL would lose money..I just had no idea it would happen so soon!

Betsy, I don't think it had anything to do with what you did. I don't think that your ceremony and VR was outrageous at all, and your requests were quite mild, and didn't interupt DCL's flow.

I believe those that are unhappy at the moment are the ones that were promised things that are now not going to happen. It seems they have changed some things for 2010 but seem to be implementing these changes to some brides that are marrying this year.
Thats not fair in my opinion but I would hope it doesn't spoil anyones special day.

I am hoping to marry in 2010 so I know the deal. I know what I am getting for my money and I am totally happy with it. I understand that I won't be given full control over my wedding and I may only have a couple of choices of cakes and flowers but thats no problem at all. Nice and simple suits me fine.:thumbsup2

I personally am very happy with the cost. I don't think I would pay an extra $1000 for Castaway Cay though. We want to get married on Deck 7 and then we can fully enjoy Castaway Cay the next day.

I absolutely can't wait for our special day, it will be magical!:cloud9:

Wow, good price! I wish I had gone to Davids Bridal when we were over there last month. I just didn't think!
Dress prices here are much more and I am on a budget so I need to keep the cost down.

I think I will wear my dress to Palo, it will be fun!:cool1:

I think I remember someone else having this issue recently. I just got my confirmation packet email from Brie, and her letter says that the enclosed document details who is my onboard groups coordinator, time and place for our meeting. Of course- inside it only says that an envelope will be waiting at check in that details the name, time, etc.

I do not really wish to wait until check in to find our who is our coordinator, etc. What if it's not there? I'm also coordinating with family and dis friends on embarkation day, and if I have any problems or need to change a time, I'd like to know who my contact is. Is this unreasonable? I just don't want to leave it all to chance that my envelope is not there. I thought most brides found out the coordinator's name before leaving.

On the plus side- DCL has approved the palo chocolate and vanilla sauces for my cake!:goodvibes

Can someone point me to some pictures of wedding on deck 7 (or elsewhere on the ship).

I called Disney today but they could not tell me if it was possible to get married on the cruise I am interested in. They said someone would call me in the next few days.

Betsy's trip report has pictures of deck 7 (disneydmbnut)

Mine is from Sessions.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

My signature has my trip report and a 6 minute video! Enjoy!

I want Deck 7. Thanks for saving me $1,000 and the ability to get to enjoy Castaway Cay. Well, that is if Disney will get back to me regarding whether or not I can get the cruise I want. Do you think they may get back to me tomorrow? I would have thought someone could have just looked it up on a computer today.

I am ok with a basic cake and flowers. I really want nice pictures and someone to make me look nice :)
