chepic your cake looked nicer than the one in the .pdf photo, not so short on the top. other than that those are all nice cakes.

The funny thing about my cake was that I said all I wanted was chocolate with strawberry center, otherwise they could do what they want. Had I read these boards first, I probably would have asked for some Mickey Heads; but maybe giving the chef free reign is a good thing, because it was beautiful. And it was the 1st time he was making the square, so it is good to be the experiment. :thumbsup2

And a little shout to Lurkey Loo....you are the queen!! What do you think about the change of Fantasyland? (I know Betsy, off topic....;))

All very interesting information. What a shame you didn't get the cake you asked for.

I will make sure I check and then double check that I have the one I want.:thumbsup2

You know what, in all honestly, I didn't even notice..I was just so happy that the fact my cake was different didn't even ring with me until I got home!

Hi

I’m just trying to work out a few of the finer details and I was hoping guys might have some suggestions.

2) What was your music selection?
We used "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds for our processional and for the bride's processional. I printed the sheet music for it and gave it to the pianist the day before the ceremony. He was amazing. ( you can hear it in the video below..the sound recording was bad, but the end of the video has the actual song)
3) Once you have paid for the cruise & VR can we change our room? We currently have a cat 6 booked but I would like to drop down if possible?
We actually went up about 30 days before the cruise. A Cat 6 became available on the Florida Resident Rate so we got a pretty big refund and went from a 10 to a 6. We got the credit on our Visa a few weeks before sailing.

4) Our ceremony is deck 7 and I wanted to see if we could have a 5 or 5.30 time and then have a 6pm Palo seating. Did anyone do this? And if you did how did things run? do you have enough time for photo's?
The Captain picks the time really. We were told 5:30 several months before but it was confirmed at the day of sailing. Our ceremony was a 5:30 and we had the private room booked at 6:00pm. It was perfect..we took pictures around the back deck with everyone and then they all headed to Palo while DH and I had our pictures taken on the upper decks. We got to Palo about 6:10 or 6:15 and they had already seated our group and taking drink orders so we got our "entrance" (that was fun! All the chefs and guests clapped as we walked thru) The photographer took our toast pictures and cake cutting before he left at 6:30. We sailed out of Nassau at 7pm and had a great sunset...6pm was the perfect time!

And lastly in our welcome bags we are making up a sort of mishaps kit (band aids, sunscreen…) and we have poncho’s for them too. I wanted to take out the picture in the front of the packet (as it’s not very nice) and slip in our own cover with a cute phase, poem or wording. Can anyone thing of something to write on it? I have complete writes block and it's driving me insane !

How big is the picture opening? We had magnets for our guest..they looked like this and were business card size. Everyone put them on the doors of the staterooms

I also used a line from "the luckiest" in our thank you card..maybe you could use a line from a Disney Song?

Thats exactly the right attitude to have too!:thumbsup2:cloud9: I think that would be me as well. Mine could end up being a krispy kreme and I wouldn't care!:lmao:

Lurkyloo is the info queen!!! :goodvibes

:rotfl2: Oh I can't take credit - Leanne is the one who sent me the PDF to grab the pix from! :worship:

And re: Fantasyland, I think anything will be an improvement, but it's too bad there will be so few actual attractions in the new princess areas - they're basically just elaborate meet 'n' greet queues....

Why doesn't this square one look like Cheryl's? I chose the square based off of her pics and the pics that look like hers in the planning kit. This one looks flat and sad? I don't want an ugly cake!

Cheryl's cake was the first one they made square..I think she had A LOT of people to feed also. Maybe that square cake was only for 10 or so people so they didn't make a big one. Mine was BIG!

Mine was for 20 people....although there was enough cake for 30+....so maybe Betsy is right, that is why mine looks bigger. It also was filled with thick strawberry filling....yummy!!!

I don't know if you can make out the thickness of the strawberry mouse in this or not.

Here he is making it.

Cindi....mine is in the planning kit :lovestruc

Nessa I am ANGRY for you! Jennifer just told me the latest and this is NUTS! I think all curent and future Disney Brides need to contact the Wedding Department, Not the cruise department and complain. Yell Scream and let them know that this is unacceptable! You brides are paying good money, even more so now then I paid last year, and you deserve to be treated like you matter, like your wedding and your business matter! I would not stand for it. DCL is lucky I got married last year or I would be beating down the doors to thier office in Celebration! This is uncalled for and I am really angry. I have beena firm supporter of "just going with the flow and fixing it onboard" but now it is going to far! If you contact someone and don't get a a good answer fromt hen, talk to thier boss, thier bosses boss! Don't stop until you get answers that are acceptable to you!

Ok, I did some digging in all of my old emails....

Hey this is Candace's number, she is the Director of DFTW's assistant. 407-566-6282. Try calling her to set up a phone meeting with the Director. Express all of your concerns and let them know that the DCL Brides are angry!

Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings
220 Celebration Place
Suite 3452
Celebration, Florida 34747

This is the address....Write Letters complaining too. It is the ONLY way to get things to change!

I have Cindy Garber's name..she is the Director of DFTW..Her address is the same...

what happened??

I believe DD spoke to Cindy, when she said she wanted to talk with Brianna's Supervisor. And she is the one who basically told DD the changes were the changes and that was that.

She was told that certain requests were NOT ALLOWED any longer, I think that I posted that as soon as DD told me about it. These are supposidly the changes for 2010 and seem to be taking effect NOW!!!

Betsy....Can you even imagine going through all of this to get married? It is horrible and I think that these brides deserve so much better!

Well I woudl speak to Cindy's Supervisor. If there is nothing that can be done I would still send complaint letters!

Cindy is the superivisior and according to her, the end all be all to DFTW DCL. What she says goes....and there are no EXCEPTIONS to anything. I've already had a conversation with her in the past.

She has to have a boss. She is not the head of all DFTW and I am sure if the head of the whole wedding department found out about all the unhappy brides they would work on doing something!

I am pretty sure Brie dropped the ball..My Palo was booked by Cathy on March 26th. That was about a week or 2 before my 105 day mark. My Cat 1 bridesmaids put in the request too just to cover all bases, but Cathy got it before they could book it.

Something weird is going on..

I sent a LONG letter to Cindy about what I thought of them when they got rid of Cathy..I will not be doing a 10th VR at the WP if they keep taking away special things and jacking up the price!!

I have the email of a guest relations manager at DCL..I am home today but let me log into my computer and find it

Ok so I called Candance as a "Past Bride" and asked who I can contact above Cindy Garber. I was told that Cindy is the managing Director of DFTW. I asked who is above her and was told that information can only be given out by Cindy (Whatever?) so I said I need to send in a letter and I need to know who to address it to. I was told to address it to Cindy. I told her that was unacceptable, I didn't want to address it to Cindy. So I was given this email address. This is the Department overseeing all of the executives. wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com

I totally understand not wanting to make waves before your weddings, but this would be a good place to file a complaint once they are over!
