That email address is just the general WDW one...nothing is going to come from that. :rolleyes1

I called DCL myself back in July to enquire about the palo room when i found on the cruise forum that any guest can submit a request for the room as soon as they book their cruise! We had booked our cruise 18 months out! Cathy had told me SHE would book it at 90 days. DCL told me all requested are held and filed until 30 days prior to sailing when the 1st request to come in gets the room and so on. DFTW does not get 1st dibbs.. Well this was news to both Cindy and Bree as they were under the impresseion it was booked for them at 90.

It may have been different when Betsy and Lisa sailed...but this is the way it is now. Again, changes were made and we were informed of them AFTER we were already promised something.

You should post it here Betsy so everyone searching the DIS for info can find it.

I don't want to do that because he is an executive..I don't want to have it for every crazy person to email him...just the crazy brides!

LOL...Betsy! If he can't hellp maybe he will know of someone who can!

My personal opinion is that a lot of us brides have booked and paid a lot of money for a wedding that we are not going to get as promised. As a DCL bride, we know that things are simplified, but when things get changed on us mid-contract, and things are not getting done, we are all getting upset.

It is unfair to pay this much money for something that we don't want. There have been many times here lately when I have questioned why we are doing this, and I wonder if it isn't worth it to just take the cruise and do our VR elsewhere.

Tanya....For the cost of the Castaway Cay Wedding (which I had and it was wonderful) you can have an excape Collection Wedding at Disney! I think Disney needs to start treating us Cruise Brides with the respect and care they give the onland Brides!

I do stand by what I have said in the past, the onboard planners are amazing and will bend over backwards to make your day special. Any recent brides wanna chime in??

Many times here in the last couple of weeks, I have seriously debated about changing over to an escape package. But I love water, oceans, and boats, so I do want to do this with my DH. I just keep adding on more and more stuff to our at home reception - which is kind of ridiculous!

Yeah, but it shouldn't be that way. We shouldn't have to hope/pray/beg/plead/cross our fingers through 12 months of planning and being told yes then no at every request! We shouldn't be giving ourselves heartburn/headaches/ulcers worrying about our weddings/VR's and hoping that the onboard coordinator is going to be able to pull some magic out of her hat. It shouldn't be brides asking for confirmation of their wedding options a week before they sail! It shouldn't be brides getting the wrong cakes served! It shouldn't be brides telling our coordinator about changes to the policy's! It shouldn't be bride A told one thing and bride B told something else! It shouldn't feel....like it's not your wedding anymore.:sad2:

Absolutely agree!! Many people in our group commented at how wonderful the onboard staff was and we could not have been happier with them. They were extremely accomododating and easy to work with. There were many comment cards from the group mentioning our coordinator by name.

I was worried based on my interactions with Brie and feel she didn't spend much time on our wedding or pay much attention to us. We only got our confirmations 2 weeks prior to sailing after I requested it and there were 3 things incorrect. Everything changed once onboard things were perfect and we were constantly communicated with! I know this isn't very comforting if you are getting ready to sail but they are really amazing onboard. Maybe they need an additional DCL coordinator on land to take some of the burden off one person.

The only thing I will mention is after all the cake discussion this week our cake was not as we requested. We asked for each layer to be different and they made the whole cake the same (combined both cake flavors and fillings). Not a big deal and we didn't mention it because it ended up being really good!

Another example of an inconsistency between Brie and onboard...we asked Brie if we were able to have family come to the civil ceremony and were told no. Just us and the 2 witnesses. When we checked in at the terminal we received the time of the ceremony and it said friends and family welcome so all 20 of our group were there and Rodrigo said they were more than welcome. It just goes to show you that the "land" based crews aren't always accurate.

Again...we had an amazing time and have no complaints but agree things seem to be falling through the crazks and it is unacceptable. We are paying customers just like other FTW brides and should be treated like it.

Aw ladies, I'm sorry for the headaches you're having with your planning:sad1:. :grouphug: I started reading this thread when we were hoping to do a 10th anniversary vow renewal, which we have since decided to hold off on. I still keep up with the thread for the "maybe someday";).

I hope you all end up having a wonderful day! I look forward to hearing about your special days. :goodvibes

Ladies I am getting kind of scared....I just turned in my planing kit....What should be going on right now?

Is DFTW screwing up more people's weddings?

I am kind of lost about what is happening because everyone on this blog seems to be more upset since I last posted.

Ok Ladies I got a bit more info from DD yesterday. When all of these changes started with Brianna and after she spoke with her supervisor, she wanted a "CONTRACT" of sorts I guess she wanted to know what she was paying for in all of this and have something signed. Ok I know at some point everyone does this but she got something ( I believe it was the NEW contract for 2010). Ok that said here are a few things she said was in it.

If you want to make like announcements or programs....it says something about it has to be APPROVED before you can use them. It says you cannot use DISNEY COPIEWRITTEN things.

It said someothing about favors, and them having to be approved by them also. DD was thinking (this is how she explained it) like if you wanted to give something with a Disney Character or something it COULD NOT be a cheep knock off from China...they will not deliver things I believe she said.

I know there were other things but I can't remember all of it, I was on my way to work when she called or I would have posted this yesterday so I remembered all of it. Now I don't know if they are going to want you to purchase these items from them or what but they are going to be more PICKY I guess about what you are using.

That all being said DD has a couple things she is going to use/do for her Ceremony....she will be taking these things and talk with the Coordinator on board the ship. Don't know what the outcome will be, but she is also fortunate enough that she has a friend who ws a preformer on the ship, she has been chatting with him (he was going to try and get on her cruise so he could see the wedding) but just got hired to do the Transatlantic Cruises, and he has to be in Canada the day we leave for rehersal to start. Anyway he said when DD knows who her onboard Coordinator is to let him know and he will put in a good word for them.

I know why you all are frustrated, she was the same, she just decided to work around these things, but YES I TOTALLY AGREE that saying YES and changing things to NO midway through is WRONG.....It's not like they couldn't tell someone booking for 2010...."We have changed some of the things we have done before, we have a NEW Contract." But that is the way it should have been done. DD started this in October 2008 and then the changes in whatever month 2009??? Nope you tell people booking for 2010 and beyond things have changed, everything can change and this is understood, but you don't change the rules in the middle of the game.

Keeping my fingers crossed that she gets a WONDERFUL Coordinator who is willing to work with her. I can't wait to post pictures when I get back so you all can see how it goes, I am not sure if DD is the first one to get married under these new rules here or not, I can't off the top of my head remember all of the dates I have seen in here.

We cruise November 8-12 on the Wonder.....when is everyone else and we will be looking for updates from all effected that are here and posting NOW!!!!

Good Luck Girls and keep your chins up;)

Where did she get the information about favors and programs? I just got my planning packet this week and didn't see that? :confused3

That is complete and utter crap!!! There are absolutely no restrictions put on WDW brides about the quality of favors and handmade programs and stuff!! That is just bull do-do!!:headache::headache:

I seriously have to wonder if DCL is trying to get out of the wedding business. all of these changes sure are pointing to it!

I do not know what it was "IN" but I know she got it. She also said there is something in there about how you CANNOT change or alter any DECOR.

You said you got your planning packet right?? I know that my daughter asked for something in addition to her planning packet, but heck the cakes have changed since DD started this also and isn't the planning packet where you pick your cake, flowers and so on?? She asked for a sort of CONTRACT that took them SEVERAL WEEKS to get to her and they kept telling her they had to get it from their LEGAL Department if I am not mistaken. Maybe it was all the new stuff I am not sure I am getting this info durring phone calls from her since she is in Dallas and I am here in Pennsylvania. So I haven't actually SEEN any of the paperwork.

I don't know if they are looking to get out of the Wedding Business, I think and PLEASE don't FLAME me here....I think there have been so many OUT THERE REQUESTS that they allmost had to do something.

Remember the Bride who wanted to rope off a section of Castaway Beach for a PRIVATE PARTY, Bring her OWN BAND, Have a PRIVATE Deck Party and rope that off as well??? I know that some of you have been here for all of those posts, I think that those kind of requests are what is bringing ALL of this on, I really do. Some people have just gotten TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL in some things that they WANT or EXPECT!!! And in doing that I think that it has come down on EVERYONE.

gee..no cheap knock offs?? like stuffed mickey's that talk out of their butts?

I don't think they can control what you give out..but they can probably refuse to deliver it. I didn't have DCL do anything other than set my programs on the plates once they set up..and that was my own picture and stuff. No copyright.

I know my stepson's preschool received a letter when he was little. They had painted Disney characters on the walls of the school and Disney sent a letter to remove the characters because they didn't have the license. Stupid, but I can see if people are butchering their product (like ordering a bunch and preforming surgery on them) they want to stop that.

i'm not planning on having them deliver my bags or set out my favors anyway. As for my bags... i DO have the license for that!! I paid over $100 for the LICENSED Disney embroidery images to go on my $500 LICENSED Disney embroidery machine! I used LICENSED disney tread to make them too! And they are GIFTS. And I only have 5 cabins to deliver, so it's not an issue to do it myself.

Gee, with the uproar over protecting their image, you'd think Disney would be all over the Design board, and pulling down all the FE's and door magnets that are plasted with their "licensed" disney images. :confused3
