Disney Cruise Brides - Let's Chat about our Weddings/VR's!

Good morning all-
Us current group of brides are all getting soooo close now. Yeah!

Christine, I sail the week after you and got my info today, so you should getting it today too.

But.... I can finally say, I'm a little disappointed with this whole thing. I've been pretty much easy going about everything. But I thought it was going to be "special". I don't really feel this is being treated "special" as a DFTW bride. I got my info today... it was in an email. I didn't get those special "luggage tags" even. All you previous brides got that right? I mean really... All this buildup and I get an email with three docs, one is a cover page (There was no info about an onboard coordinator, only that I would get a letter from the "onboard groups director" at the terminal), second is just high level details of what we sent in our "contracts", with no real information except that the time and place is confirmed, and the third is a credit card request for the charges. Is this all that you guys got?

Wow.

So can any recent brides comment on this? I just don't want to be disappointed onboard, did they also change the "gift", (the pair of white fluffy things - i'm being vague incase the current brides don't know what it is)?

Alright, enough disappointment, I should just be happy about this special occasion that I will share with my DH and family.

Virginia i can't say for certain as i haven't had my VR yet, but i can say that the treatment we DCL brides have recieved in the past year has been horrible. IMO DFTW considers us lower than anything else. Because they consider our weddings to be so cheap (HA! That's a laugh to my budget) we don't get any special treatment and our weddings can not be special or personalized at all. i think that email is all that DFTW thinks your wedding is worth. It's gonna take the onboard coordinator working miracles for me to think that DFTW on DCL is worth the hassle, frustration, tears, and MONEY too! It wasn't free!

I got my luggage tags with only 3 pieces of paper in a folder that said DFTW. I know someone else got the folder when they boarded so maybe they are just not sending it overnight anymore?

The white fluffy things were stopped last year as far as I know. I got them but Lisa did not. I don't think I have seen another person post that they got that since September last year.

I said to my DH a few months ago that I am glad we did ours last year because the way the service has declined, I would have been really ticked to have what they are slimming it down to now.

I know that isn't a comfort to you guys..I was upset that I didn't get the watches from DCL like the other couples before me..It makes me wonder if they are trying to limit the cruise weddings because they are too much to try and handle with an ever changing cruise market.

I'm going to chime in here ladies...we didn't receive our luggage tags until we met with our coordinator (actually I think he met us on our last morning onboard and gave us the tags, and some DCL honeymoon buttons.) As for our 'gift' from DCL, I really loved it. If anyone is curious, pm me and I'll tell you what it was. Don't want to ruin the surprise for any "not so curious" brides.

Ok Ladies we are down the the wire here....Looks like Pixie is first up (am I right?) I know we board for DD's Wedding on November 8th so she is second and then is April next??

I am hoping that everyone posts their experiences and LOTS AND LOTS of pictures. Feels like we have all been involved in some way with the whole process for several comming up and I for one would LOVE to see how they all turn out.

Yah, I have had no contact with Brie again, even though I sent her several questions. I made some comments to the DFTW planners when I was at Frank's that day. Tanis said she couldn't comment and ended up giving me info to switch to an Escape (I wish I could but I would have to sell an organ right now to afford it).

This other planner, a man whose name I don't know, said that he helped create the DCL weddings, and that they were really trying to put them back to the original creation. He said that they have gotten out of control lately.

I agree that I am not happy with the treatment. Any complaints that I have written down have been ignored so far.

If i knew what i know now 18 months ago when we booked....you can be darn sure i'd have sold that organ and gone with the Escape option. I have no qualms at all about calling the DFTW manager again if I don't get answers....and i WILL be writing a letter when this is all over to Disney customer service. If they can not provide the same level of service to all disney brides, they need to cancel the DCL option........it's ridiculious what we have been put thru.

I'm really trying keep everything postive. But I will say we have certainly done our homework on an Escape wedding.

I think all we can do is try and be positive like Shannon said....and also in my post I am sorry I didn't use everyons real names but their posting names...I didn't know everyons real names.....Sorry.

I can't keep track of who is on which ship!!! DD is the Wonder, Nessa is the Magic, April is Wonder after DD (nov8th) Tanya are you right before DD or right after?? I wish the countdown timers showed HERE so you could scrowl down and rechech dates....lol

But like I posted before PLEASE post your pictures so we can see then and give updates on how it all went.

I was married on the AUgust 13 sailing. I also was unhappy with the lack of communication from Brie. I had to ask for my final documents and was less than 2 weeks from sailing before I received them. I was given my onboard coordinator before I left and cannot say enough great things about the onboard staff. I feel like it is difficult to get information out of the DCL wedding staff on land and it shouldn't be that way. We did get the luggage tags once we asked for them and we got them days before we left.

No fluffy gifts here either...we did get some nice items though.

I really think everyone's ceremonies will go perfectly. The onboard staff is amazing!!

OMG!!!! This is crazy! There are so many of us. Can't wait to start seeing pics. Ladies please let me know how things are progressing. I am going to have to start making lists of things I need to finish.

I am worried about dress fittings too. Christine, I am glad that you got that straightened out. I hope that doesn't happen to me, b/c I didn't leave very much time in there!

At least my son has grown so much that his tux fits him. We went to try it on tonight to have it altered tomorrow, and there is no need. Saved some $$ there.

Wanted to ask, who is doing a FE on their cruise? What sort of gifts are you doing? Looking for some ideas.
