Thanks so much for the info.

I didn't want it to be the same day as our renewal, so that works great.
The renewal is on a sea day.

Ours ended up being the same as the Pirate party (so we missed that dinner since we were in Palo that night, but that was all because of our ship being re-routed due to hurricanes).

OH NO! Those hurricanes really know how to come along and screw up vacations...... It seems now everything we plan, we are thinking of hurricane season. We never had to do that when I was a kid.

I Love your picture by the way.

Was it just the two of you on the cruise?

Yes, just the two of us. We did end up with a few at our VR though. We made friends with some of the Dis-ers and some of them have remained real life friends.

I had my 'something blue' an embroidered label with our vow renewal date sewn into the back of my gown. Needless to say, the date ended up changing. Oh, well, not much I could do about that. Just so happy we had the chance to do this.

Found out this morning that my parents had promised each other they would do a vow renewal on their 25th anniversary. But with two kids in college, they let it slide. Next year is their 35th. They are already booked on the Fantasy next year. My sister and I and some of our friends are going as well.

As of this morning, my sister and I are thinking... Let's throw mom and dad their vow renewal on the cruise!

ANY and all advice is appreciated! Been on The Disney Wedding Blog and lurkyloo's blog already! Very helpful!

Call ahead and get penciled in. We did it for our 20th and loved it all. We ended up with 20 people that came, so it really was a blast. Others will tell you that they only had themselves and had a wonderful time. So you really can't go wrong in my opinion.

So the advice is DO IT!!!

I think it would be a great gift to your parents. Tell them you booked them Palos and they need to bring some really nice clothes;)

What a great idea!
We were already booked on the Dream with a bunch of family when we got engaged. So it worked perfect for us. It's worth every penny for them to do the work:)

I was thinking about getting engraved wine glasses for everyone. I was going to put them on the reception table so everyone could toast with them. Has anyone ever done this? Or know where I can get about 25 affordable ones?

I was also trying to figure out gifts for my guests staterooms. Any ideas?

I'm not creative at all:confused3

Thanks in advance.

In reading through this thread, I saw that someone had made custom beach towels for their guests. I thought that was clever!

Maybe drink mugs? But I have no idea where you get anything made!

Check with Things Remembered for nice engraved glasses. Or another store like that. You can also check into Orintal Trading for gifts, they might even have the glasses:confused3 Walmart, Target, and the Disney store for sale items depending on when you sail;)

You will want to figure out want you want to give as a gift. Do you want to give something cruise related, a bag filled with goodies like sunscreen, candy, etc, or something Disney related, or something related to the wedding.

I making a picture frame, a cd with different Disney songs, and very small items. Also, I plan on making the Mickey head fan programs.

I think I am only giving my attendants gifts and the parents.

I am doing welcome bags, getting them from lands end the totes so they can use them after, everyone gives them rave reviews!

I have then "couponed" and got tide pens, shout wipes, tums, sun screen, tylenol all for free to put in them! I am going to keep adding to thier welcome bags and we are debating putting some on board spending for our guests as well in the bag!

The bags are one per room...

I am not sure if I am going to have a "favor" at the reception as I am spending for the totes, however, I am going to have little Mickey Fans made like this for our reception:

:lovestruc Planning is so much fun...I just cannot wait!! :)

Hi all.. It's getting closer! NOW I have some decisions to make.

We're getting married on CC on 9/10/11 and its closer than I know. Fiancee already has the dress picked out and all that good stuff. So now I have to look at what *I* will be wearing. :laundy:

I'm a traditional guy and was really thinking I'd wear a tux on the beach. Now Im rethinking that. September in the Bahamas. Not breezy. Im not a small guy and I'd rather not be uncomfortable on my wedding day since Ill be in the damn outfit for HOURS.

So I was debating a linen suit or tux.. I'm not going casual, with a Hawaiian or a cuban shirt, I am like I said traditional and want SOME formality.

Thoughts? And yes I KNOW it's MY decision, but maybe some of you lovely brides could ask hubby how it was?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Brian

We're in the same situation. Finacee is traditional. We're going with a light tan colored suit, white shirts and ties to match the girls dresses.

Our color is navy, so the tan and navy will go.

How are you going to get the glasses on the boat without them breaking? Are you driving to the port, or flying?

We're doing Stateroom gifts for each female (figuring they are the ones to lug stuff around).

Land's End is having a sale right now on Beach Totes. The real nice canvas ones in many different color choices for $16.99. They are usually like $30-$40 each. So we are getting the nautical ones in colors to match the wedding (Navy and white) and filling them with a Beach Towel, and a "Bear Necessities" cruise emergency pack.

In the Bear Necessities package will go small sizes of:
Imodium
Tums
Advil
Noxema cream (for sunburn)
Suntan lotion
body lotion
sewing kit
Bonine
Altiods Ginger mints
Antibacterial wipes
lip balm

Other items in the bag:
Beach Towel
travel clock
CD with Caribbean music
Bottled water
Sun glasses
Tropical scented air freshener for the room

We are getting our bags from Lands End as well but I will be getting the middle size tote in natural/pink with a zipper top!

We are driving down so I was planning on ordering them online and then using the box to bring them back for everyone. Do you think that will work?

I went to Land's End website but they aren't on sale anymore:confused3 Did it end already or did everyone get them somewhere else. These are great ideas. I was going to do baskets by Shirley but I don't think I can afford that many. Keep the ideas coming! Thanks!
