I too have done this, but remember if you don't pay for all at one time, the boat could fill and the additional people in that room might not make it, especially those with kids. Disney only reserves x amount of room for kids of certain ages and once that number is met, then no more from that age group will be allowed to sail. A cast member told me that was because they want to avoid overcrowding in the kids areas, etc. Also, he explained to me that just becuse a room sleeps 4, that does not mean every stateroom can have 4 to a room. The count is based on lifeboats. I think it stinks, but I understand why they do it.

Just a FYI...

I was told the same thing even for adults. Fiance's brother joined the military so we will not know until last minute whether or not he can make it. Even if he can Disney said they ship could be sold out. Soooo we won't know until just before the cruise...

Florida Resident rate came out..we went from a Cat 10 to a Cat 6 and got $400 back..it was awesome surprise..

How close to your sail date the the FL resident discount come out? My uncle & grandma live in FL and I would like to get them the best rate available.:goodvibes

you can tell them to book one person in the cabin..that will hold the cabin for only $200..I did this on my 2006 cruise and then as I had the money, I added people to the cabin..it sorts messes with the final dollar figure because it is more for single occupancy..but once you add everyone, then the numbers correct itself.

I have never paid the deposit for all of us up front..especially since I book when I am onboard and don't want to drop a chunk in the middle of my vacation!

Are you sure you can book the room for only one person? i thought the minimum was 2 people? If you can do this that would be great. I'm waiting for the 2012 release days to book my wedding but I have been really blnt leting people know they need to have a deposit ready ASAP so they can book right away. We are going to a family birthday party this weekend and I plan on reminding them again.

I've been reading this thread and may have missed some things. If so, I apologize.

I recently booked a vow renewal on the Dream for 08/11. When I did so, I found out the cost went up by $1000!! It was expensive to begin with, but... I may have to cancel. I wanted to do it as a surprise for hubby.

As another FYI.. my TA said DCL is unsure where on the Dream ceremonies will take place. That's till TBD. Mine is booked for Nassau day, which would be perfect as we don't get of the boat that day anyway.

Yes, you can book the room for one person! :thumbsup2

My cousin did this for my wedding cruise through my TA and I was afraid that she would have to pay $500 dollars for the deposit because we hadn't yet found a roommate for her yet, but turned out she only needed to put down $250 and then when you add additional people they put down another $250 and so on.

yep..you pay more for only one person..but when you add the next adult, it corrects itself

ie - 1 person 3days 1800.00
2 people 3 days 2000.00

those aren't real cost..just showing that there is an extra surcharge for a single person

im getting married on the DCL in august on the dream too. all i know as of now is that im having a on board ceremony on the day of the Nassau stop, late afternoon. where its going to be i have no idea or even what its going to look like or what deck.. the suspense is killing me! i wonder when they will find all this info out? does anyone know when they will have more info for disney dream brides?

HI Ladies,
its been a while well I have 2 months and 22 days till my cruise and I am really excited. I have to hand in my packet by September 27th and I still have not made all my choices. I am so worrried that I will choose wrong so I keep changing things. I just had my bridal shower it was a high tea and a great surprise, so much fun. I still need men attire and my dress still has not arrived from klienfelds. I also have to get my gift bags read and it seems like it never ends. Crunch time is approaching and I feel like I still have so much to do. Do we need wedding invites if I already know who is coming??? any suggestions...also dos anyone have any idea wha the bridesmaid should have because the flowers on the ship are just ridiculous in price.
thanks have a great weekend

i mean i dont think you NEED invites if you already know whos coming. im still doing invites just for fun i guess. but if you feel like it will be more for you to stress about them i wouldnt worry about it. i would just double check on the guests to see if they have all the info they need such as time and where they have to go and stuff like that.

arnt the prices for the flowers insane? :scared1: What bouquet did you go with? i think if you want to choose your own outside of the disney cruise they have specific flower rules so you might want to check in on silk flowers or something of that sort.

good luck! :hippie:

DCL puts invites in everyone's fish the night before the wedding..so they will get something..I made little things to go on the plates

someone put one in a shadow box for me..I will snap a picture tomorrow..it is on a folded card with the DCL wave on the front..

Some items I have are shout wipes/tide pen, mini hand sanitizers for excursions, tums, and something with ginger in it just in case of motion sickness....

This is exciting!!!! I can't wait to find out where and how many guests...hopefully the outside location is larger than the one on the Magic/Wonder...

it would be GREAT if the outside space is bigger. Shanda has my guest list count up to 30 so i would like to keep it that way. :wizard:

anyone on the dream have dinner plans with your wedding guest after the ceremony? where are you having it? I have kids and and me and the future hubby will have our complimentary dinner on another night.
