Two of my sisters, my bridesmaids at that,( I have 4 bridesmaids) have not booked yet. We r in the same boat no more inside or ocean view available. I told them over a year before the cruise and they are natural procrastinators so they still have not booked and we r 6 months out. :scared1: I told them at this point I don't feel sorry for them it is so expensive as they have been nothing but pains in my behind about dresses shoes not booking and everything else you can imagine. But in your case, I would just keep trying. I hope it all works out for you!:flower3:

Ps. When is your wedding?

our wedding is august 26, 2011 on the disney dream.

some of my guests are waiting on getting their taxes but by then im scared that it will be ridiculously expensive and or way too late and it will all be book up. :sad2: i keep telling them to just put a deposit down and then they can pay it all off by summer of next year. i hope they don't leave my groom heart broken :headache: like i understand if you cant afford it.. i understand that everyone cant make it .. but to have my family there and his family back in jersey on our wedding day is a crappy thought...

I know how you feel. Ours is in March on the dream too. I feel the same way. I just want to know that they are coming. If I could afford it, I would put down a deposit for everyone but that's just not that simple.... I think that when you give people enough notice there should be no reason they can't book when they have all that time to pay it off. I too understand if you can't afford it and I told you last minute but there is plenty of time to pay off the cruise once you put the deposit down because they knew about it so far in advance. Good luck! I know how you feel!:wizard::wizard:

Did anyone have family members that are waiting to the last minute to book? how did it work out?

my wedding is less then a year away & the situation i am in now is that my grooms immediate side of the family has not booked yet... i went on the website to check availability and the availability is going down and the prices are jumping up which i warned them about. as of right now there are no more inside staterooms or oceanview rooms . I have sent them all the information that they needed to know 3 months in advance (which is when we found out what we wanted to do for our wedding) and they all said they wanted to come i have kept tabs with them i have even booked for them but they never followed through with their deposit so they lost their original rooms. I am starting to get really nervous that my groom is not going to have any of his closest families there for him & i know how much that will mean to him that all my family is there and his isnt. & it makes me mad because before we made this decision EVERYONE said that they would be able to do it.. :confused3 has anyone came across a similar situation as this?

When I called Disney a couple of weeks ago, the guy told me that my guests should book asap as August is already getting full! I was in panic mode as I have yet to book myself! I figured I would send my save the dates at the beginning of October and that would be a year in advance...plenty of time, so I thought. Now I am scrambling to get the save the dates ordered and my info packet together to send out next month!! I can't believe how quickly the Dream is booking up. I will just keep my fingers crossed that my guests at least put the deposit down right away. One thing I wish Disney would do, is offer a deposit rate for the length of your cruise...It sucks that we have to pay $200 deposit, which I think is only $50 less than a 7 night when we are only doing a 3 night. I wish it was only $100. It would be a lot easier for my guests to come up with.

Good luck everyone!!

I think you just need to remind everyone that Disney Cruise line is not like other lines and that they are always full and they price goes up each month versus going down. And, if they don't do it soon they are going to literally miss the boat. ;)

You can't worry about them though, and don't let it ruin your time. They are all adults and have the power of free will and if they choose not to exercise it correctly, there is nothing you can do about it.

Have wonderful weddings!!

exactly. i have made a website, emailed, texted, called, talked in person, hit them up on facebook making sure everything is okay and giving them all the information they need and all they need to do is make the deposit ill even book it for them! :rotfl: the deposit is the hard part though especially for those who have kids. that's a deposit of $200 per a kid/adult/senior. it doesn't matter if you wanna hold your spot on the boat then 200$ for each person after 5 days or 10 days if you get an extension after booking is what you need. :crazy2:

i keep trying to remind myself if i cant pay for them then its not up to me if they can go or not & probably throwing a temper tantrum or holding my breathe wouldnt really help :upsidedow. i put the invite out there and if they take it or not is up to them. I guess that would be better to understand if they would of just said "heyyy.. um about that cruise i dont think i can afford that." in the beginning i would of done things differently instead of saying< "yeaaa great idea i cant wait! lets doo thisss" and then nothing. talk is cheap :rolleyes1

Sounds like you have done everything possible except pay! lol We were very fortunate for our VR, we thought it was just going to be us and as the time went by we had a group of 20, which was very fun and nice. But truely, if it had been just the 3 of us, it would have been great too. The day, the moment, is about the 2 of you and the love you have for each other...all the other things will melt away.

awwwww, listen to me, such a romantic :lovestruc

I am having a similar issue. My brother and niece said they were coming and have yet to book. I kept reminding them about booking and they said they would but were waiting to see of my DSIL would be coming too since she was afraid of cruising. Here we are less than 2 months away and they still have not booked.

I have come to the conclusion that they will not be coming. I don't want to keep asking them as I don't want them to feel forced. :sad2:

I'm sorry you are having such difficulties with family members. I agree with Cheryl, I would stress to them that this is not like other cruises, if you don't book now, it's a very real possibility that you will not go. Yes they all said they would when you mentioned it, but things change and a disney cruise is very very very expensive, especially now that insides are all booked. It's possible now they just can't afford it and are unsure of how to tell you and DF. Can he talk to his family about this?

you can tell them to book one person in the cabin..that will hold the cabin for only $200..I did this on my 2006 cruise and then as I had the money, I added people to the cabin..it sorts messes with the final dollar figure because it is more for single occupancy..but once you add everyone, then the numbers correct itself.

I have never paid the deposit for all of us up front..especially since I book when I am onboard and don't want to drop a chunk in the middle of my vacation!

HI GIrls.. I'm only 3 days away !!! I'm so excited, I can't wait.

Regarding the guests that have not reserved the cabin yet, My advice is to tell them to HURRY !!! I had about 10 guests that couldn't join us because all the interior and oceanview sold out. The travel agent suggested them to keep an eye open for cancellations but that never happened. NO LUCK !!! :sad2:

Well, wish me luck . I hope I get everything in order . I can't wait to share the pictures.

Ive talked to them i guess i will have to wait and see .. i feel like they are gonna be getting tired of me pretty quick. but heyy! they are missing out. i want this to be special for everyone i think i just need to speak to my DF and see if he'll be happy on our big day no matter the outcome then i will be excited. nothing like the thought of a sad groom to haunt ya! im pretty sure ill be more upset then he is in the end. like you guys said its about US so ill just hope for the best and not let anything get in the way for our happy day.

other then that drama popcorn::

I AM SOO EXCITED~ how do you upload pictures i wanna show you guys my dress! :bride:

I too have done this, but remember if you don't pay for all at one time, the boat could fill and the additional people in that room might not make it, especially those with kids. Disney only reserves x amount of room for kids of certain ages and once that number is met, then no more from that age group will be allowed to sail. A cast member told me that was because they want to avoid overcrowding in the kids areas, etc. Also, he explained to me that just becuse a room sleeps 4, that does not mean every stateroom can have 4 to a room. The count is based on lifeboats. I think it stinks, but I understand why they do it.

Just a FYI...

i have never heard the limited kids thing..4 people in a cabin is 4 people in a cabin..many people don't use the kids club..and I have traveled with all adults.

I added mine about every month..the price point never really changed and then a month before sailing, I got upgraded to a Cat 6 and a refund!! awesome!

I was surprised too when he explained it to me. I thought the same thing 4 people in a cabin, then you should be allowed 4. We only have 2 guests who are bringing kids and of course they wanted to book next year..now they are scrambling to come up with the deposit for all of them.

Wow...way to go on the upgrade and a refund!! How did you manage that??

I actually did read about that on the cruise forum......doesn't matter if you are booking 3 people in a 4 person cabin, if the cruise is "full" to teenagers, they won't let you book a teen on your reservation. that's why they ask for birthday's for each person on the reservation. you can beg and plead and tell them you won't use the kids club, but it won't change their mind. they are full on that age group and won't relent. :confused3

wow..I didn't know that!!

Guess I never thought about it because I booked the time the released the dates and had everyone added before the 12 month mark..that is good to know for next cruise!
