Disney Cover Up Exposed: 11-year-old girl molested on Disney Dream

:confused3Wha??? It would seem people would be a bit concerned that Disney almost got away with the cover up but no, the focus is on the big corporation being taken advantage of. Do you also feel sorry for the 'too big to fail' banks too?

That's an apples to oranges argument right there.

Lets be honest, do you think any company would want this kind of press? If this were your company, wouldn't you do everything you could to properly handle the situation WITHOUT involving the media.

The connotation associated with a "cover up" has a hint of deception tied to it. I don't think there was an attempt at deception, situations happen like this all over the world in companies big and small. We rarely, if ever hear about them. I don't think it's because they are trying to deceive the public, but because they want to handle the situation and get as far away from it as possible.

Just as ea said this is apples and oranges.

You well know of the tone of the thread from the beginning. Almost all of us have been upset with Disney sailing, myself included!. The last few comments have done nothing more then comment about the cover up issue. Where did anyone say Disney was being taken advantage of?

To suggest that anyone is more worried about Disney being taken advantage off is plain not what has being discussed, as is very clear in the posts.

The facts are that there is still a great deal of information not available to us to know all the details that happened.

Maybe staying on topic would be better then trying to put words and untrue meaning in other peoples discussions.

Exactly! I am sure all sorts of victimization has occurred and will continue to occur on Disney properties. They aren't going to publish number of assaults, number of wallet pick pocketed, strollers stolen, children who get separated from parents or even abandoned. Google child pornography at Disney and once you get past the recent bust you will find several other incidents involving employees. In fact in 2005 authorities were asking for help involving images they believe were created at Disney itself. Did Disney hide these? Nope. They just didn't have a press conference. Did Disney discuss/release their policy on banning registered offenders? Nope. No corporations want their name in the headline with words like "child molester". "rapist", "child pornography", etc.

Thank you to the last couple of posters.

I am skeptical of any news report that does not seem to have enough evidence to substantiate their claims. I believe in having thinking for myself and refuse to simply take a news reporters word exact events. There are a lot of factors involved in a situation such as this. As I have indicated before, my opinion and posting isn't about defending Disney.

There was a post a few weeks ago that a mother asked. The post wanted opinions of others about whether it was wrong to leave a 10 year old outside on a bench while the rest of the family went on a ride. The ten year old would have to wait while the parents waited in the long line of a ride, then went on the ride which was in an enclosed building leaving her child all alone during this period of time.

Of course you can imagine the many varying points of view people had. I personally thought a 10 year old CHILD was to young to leave alone in a big place like disney. One of my points was that there are sick people in this world just looking to take advantage of situations just like the one she was creating.

The thing that struck me as ridiculous, was a few people posted that something like that could never happen at Disney and the other post was that in this day and age things like that don't happen that much anymore.

I really hope those people read this post. While it may seem our world is safe and things like that rarely happen, that is just not the case; and why would any one put a 10 year old at risk.

Yup...this also reminds me of a post about TSM, and someone's children being seated with a complete stranger. As soon as I mentioned something like that happening, I was crazy...
