Disney Complaints

We checked into All Star Music last year and found that one of the beds had clearly been slept in recently and it smelled like someone had just painted their nails. I called the front desk ASAP (3 a.m.) and they moved us and comped thr oom for the night. Sorry to see you aren't getting what you should.

I have to agree, Disney does ignore complaints, we were at POFQ this past June, upon arrival we found two prescription pills just sitting on the bedspread, we had two rooms that both had dirty sinks. Fortunately we had no young children with us that could have ingested these pills. Housekeeping was very unresponsive to our problems.
Whether anything was stolen doesn't matter, crime happens in WDW just like everywhere else, they are not immune, the door of the room should have been closed even if it were just a housekeeping error. Disney's housekeeping dept. is in need of a overhaul, it has really declined.

I wouldnt bother complaining to housekeeping. Talk to the front desk, then a manager if you still aren't getting anywhere. Remember you will get farther by treating everyone with respect and just letting them know your concerns than freaking out. I know YOU weren't, just a general statement to all who read here.

Can anyone explain Disney’s practice of ignoring customer complains? During a recent stay at ASMo we returned to our room to find the room door unsecured and ajar. To cut a long story short, I had to insist that security be notified and when they arrived they would not even take a report. I had to repeatedly request that the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office be contacted and this was only done after I told management that I would call them directly on my cell phone. I was told by 2 ASMo managers on 2 separate occasions that Disney would conduct an investigation and that I would be advised of their finding prior to check out. This was about 2 months ago and I have not heard a thing from Disney. I also complained to my AAA TA and I am also waiting to hear from them.

Recently I read that Disney doesn’t like to respond to complaints and that their staff will just “Yes you to death” to try and appease you. I think that you chances of having a problem at Disney are slim to none, but it does happen. I don’t understand why they ignore complaints. I am not sure if I was the victim of a crime or Disney staff negligence.

Was something missing? If not then the housekeeping probally just did not close the door securly when finished. This is not uncommon in hotels, any hotel not just Disney owned and operated.

Doesn't Disney have its own police department? Wouldn't they have primary jurisdiction? I know that I have seen uniformed Disney (I assumed police) with sidearms, nightsticks and handcuffs on their belts. *NOTE* The two uniformed Disney individuals that were armed were not inside of a Disney park but were in a parking lot.

Everyones blaming WDW for leaving the door open. Will the OP swear 100% that they are SURE they pulled the door closed and made sure it was latched? I knows I've had that happen at hotels that you close the door pretty well, but if you dont get the 'click' you need to pull it more.

Now it couldve been hosekeeping or something, but there is no way to know 100% for sure..

I arrived at CSR on 10th August after asked to be moved to an interconnecting room and to have a rollout bed added, we where told one would be delivered straight away. When we got back 5 hours later the luggage had arrived(used dme) along with someone elses and no rollout bed, I took the luggage back to the front desk and also pointed out the lack of rollout bed. The result they gave us the rollout bed free of charge and it was for a 14 day stay.

I still can't get over the doo doo print. My Goodness, what kind of children are pepole raising, if the play with thier own poop and leaving it on the door. Those children do not deserve to be at the happiest place on earth. They belong in a zoo somewhere, where animals playing with feces is acceptale.

These reports of doors being left open AFTER the maids clean are getting more frequent. If you leave your room for the parks and then the maid cleans your room, then you come back to find the door open, obviously it was the maid, not the guest.

I am very careful to the point of obsessive about making sure doors are locked at our resort, our car, our home, etc. Our first day at POR, we left at 10 am for the parks, just as the maid was about to clean our room. We came back at 7 pm. Our door was not shut all the way. It was obvious to anyone walking by that it was open. The maid opened the curtains and ALL THE LIGHTS were on, which I did not do, so anyone walking by would also know no one is in the room in case they wanted to pop in and steal something. And yes, theft occurs at Disney World.

Lucky for us, nothing was taken, but I did not like the thought of going to the parks each day wondering if our room was going to be left open at any time during our stay.

I reported this incident to the front desk twice in person and called it in as well. NOTHING was done. I did not want any compensation, all I wanted was that someone acknowlege my complaint and talk to the maids and tell them something very basic in mousekeeping training - Shut the door completely!

I only ask that the maid give my room and my possessions the same respect that I do by making sure the door is closed tightly each and every time. That is not too much to ask. Because of my experience and other maid related incidences I have read about, I am now requesting no maid service during our stays. I feel much better knowing there is no chance my door is open all day.

If anything had been taken from the OPs room, calling the police would have been justified imo. I have read of many incidences here where Disney has done nothing about theft in the rooms.

You got it all wrong, Disney doesnt do that, they accomodate you quite well andthats why my family and I stay concierge deluxe because of the higher leve of service that is offered since the ASMO is a lower end Disney resort.

HHMMMM......LA DE DA- HUH?

This is not just a Disnay issue but a hotel industry issue in general. If you stay enough nights in hotel rooms you will come across just about everything and compared to the total number of nights I spent in hotel rooms over the years the times that I have found the door not fully closed upon return I can count on one hand.

I would think that the maid was spoken to how do you know that they did not speak to her? Just like any other job a corrective action discussion is between the employee and that empoloyees manager.

I agree.........

While a corrective action discussion is between employee and that employee's manager, a response from management that the employee had been spoken to is in order.

An apology, any kind of acknowledgement from Disney, would have given me some sense of comfort knowing my room probably would not be left open to all passers by during the remainder of my stay. Not too much to ask for.

But since that did not happen, I took matters into my own hands and left a handwritten note in my room each day for the maids to please shut the door tightly when they leave.

If the member of management that you logged the complaint with did not assure you that they would address the matter with the cast member in question or that the manager of that department would then I agree that they did not address your concern correctly.

If you were looking for them to get back to you with a confirmation that they spoke to the cast member then I think your expections of the hotel industry in general are too high and we would have to agree to disagree on this point.

Your room is not neccessaryly cleaned by the same person everyday. It is not like a cruise ship where you have the same people taking care of your cabin for the entire voyage.

I have been to Disney several times. I have also cruised with DCL four times. I am well aware that my room is not cleaned by the same person every day at any resort.

To the OP, I posted on this thread to let you and others know, it happened to me too and that I was never assured that anything had been done to give me any peace of mind when we left for the parks each morning. I'm sorry that happened to you because I know the feeling of returning to your room at night and discovering it has been open all day.

I do not wish to hijack this thread and I apologize to the OP. :flower3:
Thank you, tink

I have to disagree. I work in a customer service-esqe industry and I can assure you that any corrective measures (or even discussions) taken by management with regards to specific employees are is not then communicated back to the customer.

I think that any time Disney receives a formal customer complaint, they sould acknowledge back to customer, in some way.....phone call, letter, verbal apology or explanation, whatever is appropriate, to at least let the customer know that their complaint is not being ignored. To not respond at all, is not good cutomer service. I love Disney but I do believe that over the years their overall customer service has gone down-hill, in some ways.

Has anybody else noticed that the OP has not been back to this thread? I smell a troll.

The only thing that I see here is that the OP has not come back to answer any of the questions that have been presented. So we actually don't really know if it was mousekeeping, a stranger or someone in the OP's party. Until then I guess we are all in limbo.:confused3
