Can anyone explain Disney’s practice of ignoring customer complains? During a recent stay at ASMo we returned to our room to find the room door unsecured and ajar. To cut a long story short, I had to insist that security be notified and when they arrived they would not even take a report. I had to repeatedly request that the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office be contacted and this was only done after I told management that I would call them directly on my cell phone. I was told by 2 ASMo managers on 2 separate occasions that Disney would conduct an investigation and that I would be advised of their finding prior to check out. This was about 2 months ago and I have not heard a thing from Disney. I also complained to my AAA TA and I am also waiting to hear from them.

Recently I read that Disney doesn’t like to respond to complaints and that their staff will just “Yes you to death” to try and appease you. I think that you chances of having a problem at Disney are slim to none, but it does happen. I don’t understand why they ignore complaints. I am not sure if I was the victim of a crime or Disney staff negligence.

If nothing was taken, Im sure it was a housekeeper leaving the door open. A criminal wouldn't get into a room only to leave empty handed. Still awful though. Im sorry that happened to you :(.

Disney does respond to complaints though. I had an issue once, I emailed the address on their frontpage, someone emailed me about 6 days later, then someone phoned the next day, I didnt ask for that, they just wanted to be clear. Sounds like Disney isn't immune for bad middle management though, and they ignored your complaints.

Was anything missing? If you could account for all of your belongings why would you demand that the police be called? You didn't state this but it seems like nothing was taken. If my door was ajar an nothing was taken I would chalk it up to negligence on the part of the CM and I would just make sure that the management was notified, leaving it up to them to deal with it properly.

If something was missing then you are within your rights of notifying the police.

I have found WDW to be very receptive to complaints. I had a valid complaint, my hotel room was littered with pubic hair in the bathroom and a little "**** print" from a child on the back of the bathroom door!

I called the front desk and expressed my concern, we were moved and upgraded and comped for that night.:)

I have had Disney ignore my complaint. In 96 my sister and I took a trip. We dealt with an incredibly rude CM who pushed her into the turn-style. She had a black and blue mark larger than a softball on her leg. Disney wouldn't deal with us and never responded to the letter we wrote when we returned home.

They are not going to respond on something like that due to legal reasons. If they did, you could use it against them in a court case. About the only way they will respond is if you file suit.

Sorry but to expect the local PD to be called due to an open door that almost always is due to guest error, is not realistic..

You got it all wrong, Disney doesnt do that, they accomodate you quite well andthats why my family and I stay concierge deluxe because of the higher leve of service that is offered since the ASMO is a lower end Disney resort.

I'm going to put my two cents in, the doors at the All-Star resorts do not always close all the way. We just got back from the Sport resort and 2-3 times when we left the door did not close. I'm guessing the housekeeper left and the door didn't close. Plus I don't see people who walk around and try to steal from other people at Disney....just my opinion.

I'm sorry but that had me laughing out loud :lmao:

I think it was a sh*t print. I can only guess though

Where is the nose in the air smiley?

Too bad some of the pions of the world can't afford to stay concierge. How DARE they expect to receive good service at a rat's nest like the All Stars?

I obviously didn't push the door shut when we left our Contemporary tower room. Nothing was stolen and we didn't complain to the front desk. You have to jiggle the door handle to make sure that it is securely locked at any resort.

Hate to disagree, or start a have or have not debate, but I have had equally appalling stays at deluxe level.

Why did you want to call the sheriff? There was no crime committed. Or was some of your stuff missing?:confused3

Either your mousekeeper or someone in your family accidentaly left the door open. While I wouldn't be thrilled, as long as you had nothing stolen, what is the problem? You reported the problem to the resort (on the chance that it was housekeeping who left your door open) which was the right thing to do. What were you expecting Disney to do?

In answer to your final question, if you had nothing stolen, you were not the victim of a crime. And as far as Disney being neigligent, you can't prove that. It could be something so simple as the last memeber of your family leaving the room did not pull the door closed all the way.

I have to agree, Disney does ignore complaints, we were at POFQ this past June, upon arrival we found two prescription pills just sitting on the bedspread, we had two rooms that both had dirty sinks. Fortunately we had no young children with us that could have ingested these pills. Housekeeping was very unresponsive to our problems.
Whether anything was stolen doesn't matter, crime happens in WDW just like everywhere else, they are not immune, the door of the room should have been closed even if it were just a housekeeping error. Disney's housekeeping dept. is in need of a overhaul, it has really declined.

Just my 2 cents as well but if a crime was not committed than there was no reason to call the sheriff but management should have been notified. We just stayed at the GF concierge in April and our door to our room did not close by itself. You had to literally pull it with force. We did not know this as the CM closed the door when we checked in. We found this out after we returned for the day but nothing was missing. We told a concierge staff member and the door was fixed immediately.

If I wanted outside law enforcement involved, I would would not be concerned about having someone else do it for me or ask persmission. :confused3 I would just call.
If nothing was taken, what would anyone expect someone to do?
Once at a resort DH and I found our door unsecure. But what we had happened without us realizing was the extra security guard lock had flipped forward as we left the room, and the door did not shut 100%. The flip security lock had actually prevented the door from closing.
Luckily we had only been gone a short while.

It was a doo doo print, full hand!:scared:

Ya know, I was thinking that might be what it was but then I figured it would be more of a "smudge" and not a "print" and .... ok, I need to stop thinking about this. That is just nasty! :scared:
