Hello everyone, I'm graduating college this semester (in December) and am planning on going on to grad school in the fall. I am considering many options for this spring and the College Program is on top of my list. I was just wondering if some of the alumni of the program could offer me a little insight into their experiences (positive or negative). One of my major concerns (if you could call it that) is the partying that I have heard about that takes place in the dorms. I certainly know how to have fun (as any good college student does), but I rarely drink. Is this going to be a big issue? I don't mind some partying, as long as it's not in my apartment every night of the week. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks for any info you can give me!

I did the College Program twice -- Fall of 1989, Spring of 1992. I enjoyed the experience, but did find the "partying" a bit annoying. Mostly because my shift started at 6 a.m. and a "party tent" was right outside my window. But it is what allowed me to fall in love with Central Florida and my subsequent 'manpanion'.

There are actually two programs. The regular College Program and an Advance Internship. Try to go for the AI. It is more "professional" than the CP. Housing is shared rooms -- so little private entertaining if you know what I mean. But you do meet some great friends along the way.

There is also the possibility you can bypass the Disney housing and find your own place to live. I never explored it, but I'm sure it's out there somewhere.

If you have more question, please feel free to send me a Private Message.

My daughter did the CP twice and didn't drink. She didn't have any problems with that. She did have some screwy roommates while she lived at Chatham.

My advice is don't get an apt with lots of roommates.

There are apartments designated for those under 21, you might want to think about requesting one of those. There are parties, like at college, but not unavoidable :) The program is a blast and looks great on your resume. Advanced Internship is a great program too. PM if you have more questions :)
