DISNEY COLLEGE PROGRAM - A Spring 2013 Adventure! *COMPLETE* 11/20

I really like the Pizza planet cup!

And "Yay!" for having a grandfather at Disney Studios. That is very sweet. And he gives Toy Story Mania fastpasses. That is just about the best gift ever in my opinion.

Well, I'm real sad that you had to be hurt by some thoughtless comments. I also would be bothered by that sort of thing. Thank you, Jess, for explaining it all so well and also for realising that most of your readers love every word you write.
As far as I know you act like just about every nice college student. When I was your age we had a ton of energy and we worked, went to school, played together and ate constantly. We were always running off somewhere and it was a blast. And you are getting to do all that at Disney World!! I would be trying to fit fun into every second possible.

Thank you again for writing, posting pics, and letting us follow your fabulous life.
Hugs and Disney love!

I just wanted to say "thank you" for writing this. I have loved every minute of reading it. My 15 yr. old DD's dream is to do the DCP and eventually become an industrial engineer for Disney. She is addicted to your TR. :) We will be there in July for a trip to celebrate her "Sweet 16" and she is convinced that she's going to see you while she's there. You have become somewhat of a celebrity in her eyes. LOL

Sorry people have said mean things to you. Keep doing what you're doing. We're loving it!!! :cool1:

You are amazing!! Those villains saying bad things about you are showing THEIR issues, not convincing anyone that you are doing anything wrong! Ive just recently started reading the report, and I have to say Thank You for all the posts so i can be reminded of that special Disney magic.

I'm so happy that you are living your dream! And it's only just beginning.....
Keep enjoying yourself, Jess!

Thanks for sharing a piece of it with all of us.

Jess, I don't normally comment but had to pop in to say that while I don't know you personally, I have followed along with (and loved) all of your trip reports and you truly seem like an incredible person. It's abundantly clear that you are doing a marvelous job in your CP role so far and I for one am thrilled that you also get to experience the magic of Disney on a regular basis because it means we all get to live vicariously through your wonderful reports! I'm impressed by how maturely you responded to the negativity that is unfortunately coming your way from stupid, jealous people. I know it's hard to deal with that nonsense but just know that you have tons and tons and tons of fans who recognize how special you are and appreciate that you are sharing your journey with us. You deserve to have all your dreams come true.

Hi Jess!!

I just have to say, your updates are very similar to the ones I used to do 5 years ago when I was a CP.

You are very right in your rant..The advice my parents gave me when I left was that they didn't care if I saved a dime but to have the time of my life and experience Disney in a way you can't do on a 5 day vacation. I literally tried everything I could do from the parties to parasailing on bay lake to eating at every restaurant at Epcot. I also tackled most of the resorts while I was on the CP/PI and only have AOA to stay at and I've been at them all.

When you're a CP you can choose to be miserable and sit at home with nothing to do or you can have the time of your life..of course it does help to have a car!

I think everything you are doing is great and it's very similar to what I did 5 years ago so I feel like I'm living through you again and I've already lived it! My only regret was that I didn't do a cruise but I did pretty much everything else haha.

On a side note..I'm sorry about Fairfax..that's actually one of my work locations at DHS. It is sometimes understaffed and when you have not so great people in the kitchen it makes things not good at all..TRUST ME haha. I do suggest you try Dockside aka "the boat", they have a really great chicken sub and I hear their other sandwiches are good as well! Sorry about your experience!!!!

Have fun and enjoy your time you are great and the reports are fantastic!

~Megan

Jess, I don't comment often on trip reports- I'm more of a lurker/food porn drooler/Disney dreamer. But I just had to add my support for you against the jealous few who would try to get under your skin (as though their opinion means anything) Jess, you are a class act, your ability to handle yourself with dignity in a public forum just shows how you are truly able to rise above your critics. Keep it up girl, you are doing a great job.

I am constantly updating the plans for meals on our upcoming trip based on your report, I can't wait to try Kona for dinner- we have always been strictly breakfast eaters there, but your pics looks so yummy I have to branch out and try a dinner, and that steak.
Hopefully I'll run into you when I am there this July- it would be awesome to meet the girl behind the report.

Hey Jess,

I just wanted to piggyback off of what these wonderful people above me have said - you rock and have nobody to answer to but yourself. You are doing a service by making your personal journey public so others can get a glimpse into your world as a DCP member.
Continue having a BLAST. It is clear how dedicated you are to your job and how much you adhere to the ideals of Walt Disney and the company itself. As they say, haters gonna hate.
Ignore them and continue bringing pixie dust and magical memories in your daily life!

Also, if I ever had a 40% discount at WDW at ANY POINT I'd be broke. And in debt.

Keep up the good work and HAVE A MAGICAL DAY! :)

Just back from a 12 day trip and was hoping to see you in the park. I love reading your TR's and looking at all the pictures of the food. I have a friend that is doing the College Program now and is working at the Magic Kingdom. She loves it and also goes to the parks all the time. Don't listen to all the negativity and have fun on your vacation!

Also coming out of lurkdom to say that I really enjoy your reports as well. You seem like such a nice, grounded and grateful young woman with a loving and supportive family who is encouraging her to work hard and reach for her dreams. Who can complain about that? Enjoy this time and don't let the naysayers get you down.

You rock ,Jess ! :cheer2:

You just keep on doing what you do best! Living the Disney life !

And, I for one, am so thankful that you have allowed us to tag along. These reports and pics take ALOT of time, and we SO appreciate that you do this for us Disney Fanatics ! :thumbsup2

Please continue to keep our Disney obsession going with your pics, especially of the food ! ( my fave)

Thank you ! :grouphug:

Totally jealous and miserable...that's what they are! I'm sure your supporters waaaaay outnumber those that have nothing nice to say. Your posts are something I very much look forward to. I hope you are out there having the time of your life. :)

I love your trip report please don't stop reporting because of haters. They are probably just jealous that they don't have the fantastic opportunity of living ten minutes from the park. It would be a dream come true for many people on this board to be doing exactly what you are doing. Don't let them get you down. :flower3:

Hi Jess,
lol one of the many lurkers that love reading your trip reports and tweets! Don't ever let those kind of people get to you...some people out there can be cruel and really have nothing else better to do but to criticize others...but just brush it off! They're just jealous that you're are having the time of your life!! 99.9% of us that follow you love reading about your Disney adventures so live it up!!! lol and keep posting those pictures!!
It's awesome getting to read about your time doing DCP...makes me wish I did it when I was your age! Keep your head up girl!!

I hate that you had to deal with negative comments, but I think it's pretty cool that you can still write about it and share with us what's going on. The Disney community is pretty crazy when you think about it, how we all kind of feel like we are part of a family because of our one huge interest/obsession! I'm happy to know that you have the Disney community, but more importantly, your real friends and family to support you!

Haha, weird question, but do you know all of Mark's roommates and friends well enough that you can try food from ALL of them? (I know you said you swapped sushi with one of them at Kona) If so, that is AWESOME because it means you can taste more things! There are always so many dishes I want to try, but I know I can only order one entree, haha. I need to go with my cousins again! But even when we do go, we'll still only do like, 2 ADRs and then stay at the timeshare and eat Hamburger Helper (which I think is just as Instagram-worthy sometimes, hahahaha).

Anyway, OMG OMG OMG, I can't believe Saturday is almost here! Haha, I'm looking forward to sleeping in so badly because I'm exhausted, but then when I saw again that you and Preston will be together, I can't even fathom how excited YOU are!!! Can't wait for all those Instagram pics of the two of you together especially with some adorably cute frumpy faces :upsidedow

BTW I've showed my husband your pics and he's seen me read your TR so often that he started reading it too! Haha, he even "knows" who Preston is as well!

Also a fellow lurker.I even have my daughter(11 yrs old)reading too. You have inspired her to want to do the DCP too. We read your reports together. I cannot believe how rude some people can be.:confused3 We have decided you would make an excellent Belle( my dd's vote) or Jasmine(my vote)

Love your report and look forward to it. Thanks for letting us come along for the ride.:thumbsup2

Jess, I have been reading along and enjoying your posts. I am so glad you said something. I think so many people think it's all roses to work for Disney (or any recreation/tourism job) but that is SO nor the case. I have never worked as hard as my days as a CP ~ crazy shifts, you are "on stage" for 40+ hours a week, commuting to/from work, miles from home and family, and working on college coursework. It is exhausting and you have such a positive attitude. I think it's so great that you are taking time to enjoy the parks and resorts when you can. Heck, if nothing else, it's Florida, what's not to enjoy?!? We had Pleasure Island back in the day, Space Shuttle launches, even a road trip to Busch Gardens... not to mention the parks and the arranged activities and volunteer opportunities CPers could participate it... so much to do and enjoy on your time off, so that's what you do - squeeze in what you can, when you can!!! Enjoy your time while you are there, every second, it will go by faster than you think! :)

Hi Jess! I have enjoyed reading through all of your trip reports. I started months ago in preparation for our trip. We went there at the beginning of February. I kept an eye out for you but never saw you. You are such a great young lady. I look forward to hearing more about your adventures.

Thank you so much, Jess, for sharing such a wonderful experience. You come across as a very mature, well grounded, fun loving and pure of heart young woman. You never have a negative thing to say about your experiences. Enjoy your time in the DCP!!! I hope it leads you to a future career at Disney. I look forward to living vicariously through your adventures. Admittedly, I am somewhat melancholy that I never pursued an opportunity at WS in Epcot's Canada pavilion after visiting when I was 16! Now I am simply instilling a love for Disney in my DH and kids and I hope that all of our encounters with CM's will be with positive people like you! Enjoy your vacation days!!!
