DISNEY COLLEGE PROGRAM - A Spring 2013 Adventure! *COMPLETE* 11/20

I LOVE your updates!! I have a new baby and find myself up at unusual hours of the night. Seriously my favorite thing to do is hop on my phone and see if there are any updates! You are doing a great job!!! I wish you would still be there we. We visit in November!

Thank you for the great reports and keep them coming!!!

Hey Jess,
I just wanted to thank you for sharing your DCP experience, I agree with you, it NOT something you have to do but I certainly to appreciated that you do. I love coming on and seeing that you have update. In away I am living through you, because of my major the DCP is something I won't be able to do during my college experience, although I do wish I could. I love hearing everything from the nice things guest say to what you do in the park to the awesome ride pictures you and your friends take.

I hope that you have an amazing time when Preston and your other friends come down to visit you for Spring Break. And I can't wait to hear what you guys do.

Keep having fun.
Em.

Hi Jess! I am definitely more of a lurker than a poster but wanted say thank you for the time and effort you put in to your reports. Your chronicles of your CP experience are so wonderful. I am living vicariously through your updates and so envious of this amazing journey you and everyone who does the CP gets to be on! I hope you continue to have the time of your life and don't let the naysayers get you down! Enjoy your Spring Break - you deserve it! :cheer2:

Don't let the haters get you down. Clearly they're jealous. You are so lucky to be living the dream. You work for an amazing company, loved all over the world, gaining incredible work experience. Plus your job as some of the most amazing perks. Enjoy everything! No explanations necessary! And you just keep adding to my list of new places to try and new foods to eat. Reading about your adventures makes planning my next vacation much more fun. Enjoy the time with Preston and your friends!

Jess,
Thanks for being the highlight of our evenings. It is always a race to see if you have updated. We are learning a lot about the DCP, which is something my daughters are very interested in.

Keep up the good work, and committing to the time it takes to share your photos and Disney adventures.

Tracy

Yes, THANK you for doing this! We know it takes a lot of time to do this and we appreciate it. And of course you are going to eat Disney food and go to the parks- you live in Orlando! I hope whoever said something was joking. I wish I could go to the parks on my off hours!

Joining the club of lurkers coming out of hiding to say I absolutely adore your reports and the haters are ridiculous. I'm starting work at MK next week and your updates are getting me so excited to be a part of the magic. Keep it up, girl!

I have been lurking your trip reports (like many others apparently) and after your last post I want to let you know that I think you seem like a wonderful person who makes great choices! Not only are you a fabulous writer, but through your trip reports I can tell you care very much for your family and friends and that they care very much for you. When it comes down to it that is what is important in life. I know that sometimes it is hard to forget about negative comments, but when someone says something hurtful remember that there are so many more people who love reading about your adventures! Enjoy your CP, it seems like such an amazing experience and remember to always life life to the fullest no matter what some people may say!

Can't wait to read more :)
Ally

You are adorable, my dear. And I believe without a doubt you will go as far and as high up as you dream. :goodvibes

Pay no mind to the nay sayers, there will aaaaalways be those around to try and pull you down. Delete them, block them or do what ever it takes to not have that junk buzzing in your ear. Forgive them for they know not what they do and move on. ::yes::

You have dreams baby girl, and to tell the truth, you are living out so many of our dreams. Some people just don't know how to handle that. I can't think of a better or more deserving person to see it happen to. Keep moving forward, baby girl. Keep Moving Forward!! :thumbsup2

I have proved once again how much of a fail I am at keeping up with all of this. Darn you school and reality! BLEH!

*ahem*

Well, I am on vacation so I have some time to give some nice thought out comments. Again, really enjoying reading about this whole experience! Keeps me motivated and more anxious for when I apply (and get in) for the DCP. Your stories from your shifts at the Front Desk make it so appealing. Really opening my eyes to other areas besides the job I WANT SO BAD AND AM DEAD SET ON. And just this whole experience sounds almost better than I originally thought! Don't let all those stupid trolls and troublemakers on Instagram get you down. They are jealous that is all.

You have put your heart and soul into all of this and are putting 110% into living up to the Disney name and you need food for that. It's normal procedure. Besides, the amount of food a person consumes in Disney is insane in normal circumstances and in no way are you eating more than what any other person would eat! And why am I even having to tell you about how it is normal to REALLY eat in Disney or eat at all? That is ridiculous! People need to mind their own business and that's all there is to it. I'm so sorry you had to deal with these things because first, you don't need that pressure and second, it's stupid people spend their time just putting people down for things they don't know the half of.

You keep up the great work Jess! I know Walt is probably looking down from his Disneyland high above the clouds and smiling at you for your dedication to his dream and keeping the magic alive along with being as eager for another update as the rest of us DISers (aka your dedicated readers and friends). We'll always be here for you (:

Yeesh. I hardly ever venture out of the lurk zone, and now I'm doing it twice in one thread. But the idea that anyone has been or is being rude to you is drawing me out.

Jess, just so you know, this thread is actually important to a lot of people. I, for one, have kids of my own who may one day be interested in the DCP or perhaps a career with the company. I can't think of a better trove of information than this thread, and the "on the ground" point of view it provides. I hope your detractors don't drive you to stop updating it. The extra work you're putting into it is very much appreciated.

And, by the way, I don't know you and have no idea how much money drives you but, if you care, I'd guess that your lifetime earnings will outstrip those of your detractors by at least 5 to 1. People in positions of power vary in this regard, of course, but most of them tend to hire -- and promote -- competent, positive people like yourself as opposed to embittered, whiny little snarks. ;)

Best of luck to you in all you do.

Cheers,
~Dave

What an amazing experience! You are definitely in the right place. That is really awesome that they are going to try to find someone for you to shadow. That is great that you work for a company that you love and loves their employees back!

WOW!A possible chance to shadow GR!!!!:):):):)

GOOD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE!!!!:):):):)

How I WISH I could make this statement:

"I was done at 10 pm and then I headed home! I made a wrong turn and ended up near the Magic Kingdom for some reason!":)

First of all: Best Trip Report Ever!

Really enjoying the trip report. And you have some amazing time management skills. Keep it up.

A few curious questions for you since you are in the DCP and have some extended time at WDW:

Is there something you really hope to do during your time in DCP?
Is there something you really hope to do at WDW that you haven't been able to do in your previous trip to WDW?
Do you set any WDW goals when you first got there (eat at every restaurant, try to this or that x many times)?
While it looks like your time at in DCP has been amazing, any down sides?

Keep having fun!

So I, too, am definitely more of a lurker than a poster. So much so that it took me a little while to get a username. I just wanted to say I am sorry that you are having negative posters. I think you are awesome at writing trip reports! They have really gotten me through those hard days knowing I get to escape for a little while because I have new posts to read from your reports. I love your passion for Disney. Your CP report has really helped me through this semester, as I am getting excited about joining the Disney family in May for the Fall Advantage DCP. Thank you!!

“Internet…. Land of Trolls”….. ignore them.

You don’t have to justify your actions to anyone. You live and work in Disney World!!! How many can actually say that?

I love reading this report. It brings up memories of my CP days. People who have never done a program like this don’t really understand it. You have a unique opportunity of both working and LIVING in WALT DISNEY WORLD. It’s like living in glittering sparkling cookie scented bubble because you very rarely leave it.

You will be a target because you, as one poster put it, are a semi-celebrity on this board. You will get your insults and it will be tough to ignore them because once something is said or written… it’s hard to take it back. No one likes to see negativity written about themselves. It does put a bad taste in your mouth you can’t get rid of.

Just add another layer of skin and ride another ride….or meet another character… or make magic for someone JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN!!

This time in your life will be soooo short…. You are going to turn around and it will be time to pack up and leave. Please don’t let some jealous people ruin it, because you will never get that time back.

You don’t know what your future path will lead you to… it may lead you back to a career with the Company; it may lead you somewhere else. You just don’t know.

Right now, you are living your dream! Live in the moment... and write it down…. and post it with pictures… of pins… and school bread… and I vote for some more pictures of cupcakes…. and maybe Disney fashion OTHER than tshirts…because those of us in the reading audience are getting our vicarious Disney thrills from you!!

You have more people rooting for you to succeed, than to fail.

EVERYTHING SHE SAID x10..... Keep up the great work Jess!!!

Love the team coronado button. have you seen the I hugged Duffy buttons? I've seen pics of them online I really want one :)

I have to catch up on your past few days! But first I just wanted to say good for you, for sticking up for yourself. You shouldn't have to, but hopefully whoever commented negatively toward you will lay off after reading it.

I also have been meaning to say, and this is a good a time as ever, that I was thinking one day after reading an update about WHY I enjoy reading about this girl's life at Disney when I don't even know her. And I figured it out - you have a love for Disney Magic that is so sweet and endearing! My daughter is 5 and in a lot of ways, your Disney love is the same, and I honestly hope she will grow up loving Disney and always keep that magic in her heart. And..if she ever wants to spend a semester or more doing the DCP then I will fully support that decision and visit her as much as I can! :)

You are doing a good job documenting your travels and I am really happy that you choose to share it all with us! As for your dining habits...um who doesn't eat a lot at Disney? I feel sad for them because there is a whole world of yummy food to eat and they are missing it! And playing at the parks too much? Please..I am totally jealous that you LIVE IN DISNEY. And you spend too much? Well...it's your money, spend it as you wish! When anyone reading this thread wants to be your personal bankroll, then I guess that is the time they can have an opinion on what you buy. :thumbsup2

You are living the good life right now and I am very happy for you that you are enjoying it to the fullest extent imaginable!

And to the people who comment about the food she eats - You're the worst of all. You're the reason why people everywhere are starving themselves and hurling after they do eat. I'm sure it sucks that you eat salads all day and still can't fit into that one pair of jeans you've had in the back of your closet forever while you see Jess continuing to looking great as she chows down at Pizza Planet and Starring Rolls. I get that life isn't fair. We all feel jealousy at times. RISE ABOVE THAT CRAP! Don't give into that horrible voice inside you that wants to take that hit at someone who doesn't deserve it.

PEACE NERDS.

And...what she said ^^^
And speaking as a mom again, I literally want to smack anyone that would criticize Jess for what she eats.

Slim, slender and thin Jess. Eat to your heart's content, you have no weight issues to worry about (not that you do worry about them, just emphasizing the obvious fact that your metabolism keeps up with your appetite!).

Ugh. Between this and a very kind lady in another thread being basically called out as faking her childrens' health problems, I am so over the negative attitudes that some people have around here.
