I wasn't going to engage in this conversation, but...
First of all, if I take MY time and I am sitting at my computer at exactly 10 am on the day of the presale - why should someone else benefit from it without compensating me for it? I paid for a membership, I cleared my schedule - I made sure I had all my ducks in a row before the presale began. So, if I do sell my Tampa tickets, it will be at a profit to compensate me for my time, for my investment in the tickets. I am also incurring a risk that maybe the tickets won't sell at all (not likely but possible). Does that mean I am going to offer them at $800 each? No. But, if they are on ebay and someone is willing to bid $800 for them - so be it. Did I buy them to resell them? Nope. My DD's friends weren't able to get tickets in the presale because of some screw-up with Ticketmaster. I have offered them my tickets if they aren't able to get better seats during the public sale on Saturday. If they don't need them, and if I decide to sell them, it will be with an opening bid of probably $150 each to compensate me for my time and trouble. If someone *chooses* to bid more, then they are making a *choice* to do so . Florida no longer has ticket scalping laws. I am fully within my rights to resell them at a profit. Supply and demand. Free enterprise. Etc. It's the American way. I do have a problem with ticket brokers who buy large quantities of tickets just to resell them. But, I don't have a problem with an individual making a buck off tickets they've decided not to use for themselves. Maybe that's splitting hairs, but oh well.
Second of all, the Disney Channel Games tickets were given out with the provision that they could NOT be sold and that selling them violated the license and voided the tickets. There was a big sign to that effect at the ticket window where they had to be picked up. Therefore, selling them was wrong - no ifs, ands or buts. I gave my extras away to friends.
Third of all, some people are just plain lazy and have more money than sense. They'd rather spend extra money than to take their time. I've seen plenty of stuff sell on ebay that is easily purchased for less in a store. Someone is currently selling Camp Rock birthday invitations for $9.99 plus $5 shipping for six of them. I made my own for much less. I bet plenty of people will just plunk down the $15 and be done with it. Free enterprise. You know, kids just want to enjoy Disney World and movies and all sorts of things - so I guess they should all be not-for-profit organizations?
And, fourth of all - yeah, you did come on here and accuse people of being horrible. Had one of the regulars on here posted their opinion that they thought it was wrong to resell tickets at a profit, I would totally respect their opinion. You obviously have been lurking for some time and instead of taking the time to introduce yourself and participate in the conversation - you jumped in looking for a fight as evidenced by your last line "I am very curious as to what the response to this post will be".
