Disney Channel Games 2008???

Oh, sure, go an edit your post and make me look silly! LOL

My elder DD would LOVE to see Mitchell in concert. She wants to see his brother's band, Metro Station but I think we'll be out of town when they are here.

Well,it DEFINITELY wasn't THE biggest crowd she has ever played!:) I believe that would have been a little concert back on May 3!LOL:) She must have meant her biggest solo concert.:)I saw my first Mitchell Musso concert the other night and was really impressed. It is great to see so many of our DCG 2008 "friends" out and about. I agree that it is so great that we already "know" Demi and Alyson and Meaghan and a lot of people don't....YET!:)Do you think Disney Channel will have any coverage of the Camp Rock Premiere in New York City tomorrow night?

Saw Demi Lovato at House of Blues in Orlando last night. She did a good job. She said it was the biggest crowd she'd ever played - but she probably says that to all her audiences! LOL Her set only lasted about 45 minutes, which sort of sucked - we drove 1.5 hours each way plus stood in line for an hour for a 45 minute show. But, she really doesn't have that much material yet. You can tell she's still new to the whole concert thing - her stage moves were sort of limited. But, it's got to be hard to be up there by yourself.

My elder DD was down by the stage. She and her friends saw Demi taking pictures of the crowd with her Mac book before the show.

My younger DD was miffed that Joe Jonas didn't show up to sing his part of their duet from Camp Rock like he did in the DC Games concert. Instead one of the guys in the band (I think it was her bassist) sang Joe's part.

We waited outside afterwards. We saw her Disney hostess walk out and knew she'd be leaving. They backed a van into a gated area next to HOB. She was in the back of the van. The van was FULL. Someone in the van was videoing us. LOL I was a little disappointed that she didn't sign autographs or anything.

And, I swear I saw Tiggerinbama and her DD outside waiting for Demi to leave. Was I seeing things? LOL

All in all, I'm glad we went and I know it will be exciting when we see her on Camp Rock and she's a household name. Right now we tell people we saw Demi Lovato and they are like "who?". LOL

My elder DD took some good pictures with her phone. I'll try and post them when I can. Gosh HOB is strict about what you can bring in.

LOL, yeah you saw us. She did put on a good concert.
We arrived at 4:15 and the pass the line line was starting to fill really quickly, so we went on and ate. We had ressies to eat @5. We also saw Joey Page (new and upcoming DC Star)and got a pic of him from my phone, and we meet the lead singer of polaroid. We saw a lot of people from the DCGAMES there. Sorry I missed ya'll you should of hollered at us. Yeah they are strict, they were throwing people's sharpie's away, and using the wand. lord have mercy.

I saw you after the concert when her van was leaving - you were on the other side of the crowd. :)

I didn't do the pass the line thing because I didn't *want* to be down in front! LOL My elder DD and her friends got there early and ate. I also had 5 pm reservations and gave them to my DD's friend's mom, but they ended up just walking in at like 330. My younger DD and I stopped at Subway on 192. She and I stood by one of the railings by the bar. We had a great view and no one crowding us.

My elder DD managed to sneak in her Sharpie by sticking it in her bra. What a proud parenting moment. Not.

The older girls saw Joey Page. He had been at the DC Games one day, too.

LOL, yeah you saw us. She did put on a good concert.

I hope your DD gets to see Mitchell sometime.:)It was a really "high-energy" show.He had 4 dancers with him who were really good also. After the show,he took questions from the audience for a while and then came back out after most of the crowd had left and signed a TON of autographs. He was VERY nice to everyone. He mentioned Metro Station as one of his musical influences.I also saw his Brother and Mom-I almost felt like I was back at DCG 2008!LOL:)

How fun! Mitchel winked at my DD and her friends on his way out of Champion Stadium and they were thrilled! An autograph would probably have sent them into hysterics! LOL :rotfl2:

Yeah, I was on at 10am and I am disappointed with my seats. I am going to sell them and use the ones I already have in North Carolina.

I am curious to all of those who claim to sell their Jonas Brothers Tampa tickets. When you all wigged out every time someone attempted to sell Disney Channel Games Tickets you all freaked out saying how it was unfair to do something like that for a free concert and for something that should be all about the kids AND to top it all off, you wanted Disney to do something about it! If you wanted Disney to do something about it then, i have a funny feeling you wouldn't want them doing something about this time would you now? Well i am curious as to why this event would be different and why you think its okay to make a profit on these tickets?

And on a side note, in my personal opinion it is a horrible thing to sell tickets to get a profit. So you would be a horrible person to do that. You are lucky if you did get tickets so I think that you should be grateful you get to go, even if you don't why not just sell to one of your "DD" friends for the face value? But no...we just want to make a profit. I am very curious as to what the response to this post will be.

Well, I definitely wouldn't give away tickets I paid 103 dollars for. I would at least hope to make even, because that would be fair. I, as well as mahipp I'm sure, are not going to post tickets at 800 dollars a piece like ever other ebayer out there.

The whole Disney thing was completely different because we got those tickets FREE. We didn't pay 103 dollars for them, so selling something you got for FREE is immoral, and you should be grateful for them, or give them to someone more deserving. But if you buy something for 103 dollars, I think you're justified in selling them for AT LEAST that. The ticket itself was only 79.50, but I wouldn't want to lose the almost 30 dollars I spent in service charges. Who would??

Your decision to come on here and accuse people of being horrible is wrong and completely uncalled for. If you think we're horrible, I don't even want to know what you think of the people selling section 15 seats for 800 dollars, what are you going to do to them, hang 'em?

My DD posts on some board at Neopets (don't ask me why! LOL). Some 12 year old was trying to tell my DD that she wasn't really at the DC games because she didn't have pictures. My DD tried to tell her that cameras were not allowed and were being confiscated. The girl was very argumentative and called my DD a liar. Sheesh. What is wrong with kids these days? LOL :rotfl2:

Haha, Neopets. I used to have one of those things!

I don't see why kids all want to instigate things, it's pitiful, and so stupid.

And since when do you have to have pictures as proof? An actress CALLED me, but I didn't take a picture of my phone to PROVE it. Ugh!

all the stars looked amazing last night.
i can tell from the pictures
Jordan Francis from Camp Rock has pictures on his myspace. so does demi!
:)

First of all i didn't "decide to come on here and accuse people of being horrible" I was simply stating my opinion to mahipp's question "would i be a horrible person to sell them for profit".

Second I don't doubt that you wont be the one's selling them for $800, that would be uncalled for.

Thirdly i think getting tickets to a concert that sells out in 10 minutes you should be grateful that you got tickets, so whether you paid or got them for free your in the same boat.

And fourth, the whole service charge thing, i guess that should be the chance you were willing to take. I don't disagree that they should be sold for the actual price they were being sold for but they should not be sold for a profit. In my opinion i think its wrong to do something like that for a thing in which kids just want to enjoy.

And on a side note mahipp, thank you for welcoming me to the board.

I wasn't going to engage in this conversation, but...

First of all, if I take MY time and I am sitting at my computer at exactly 10 am on the day of the presale - why should someone else benefit from it without compensating me for it? I paid for a membership, I cleared my schedule - I made sure I had all my ducks in a row before the presale began. So, if I do sell my Tampa tickets, it will be at a profit to compensate me for my time, for my investment in the tickets. I am also incurring a risk that maybe the tickets won't sell at all (not likely but possible). Does that mean I am going to offer them at $800 each? No. But, if they are on ebay and someone is willing to bid $800 for them - so be it. Did I buy them to resell them? Nope. My DD's friends weren't able to get tickets in the presale because of some screw-up with Ticketmaster. I have offered them my tickets if they aren't able to get better seats during the public sale on Saturday. If they don't need them, and if I decide to sell them, it will be with an opening bid of probably $150 each to compensate me for my time and trouble. If someone *chooses* to bid more, then they are making a *choice* to do so . Florida no longer has ticket scalping laws. I am fully within my rights to resell them at a profit. Supply and demand. Free enterprise. Etc. It's the American way. I do have a problem with ticket brokers who buy large quantities of tickets just to resell them. But, I don't have a problem with an individual making a buck off tickets they've decided not to use for themselves. Maybe that's splitting hairs, but oh well.

Second of all, the Disney Channel Games tickets were given out with the provision that they could NOT be sold and that selling them violated the license and voided the tickets. There was a big sign to that effect at the ticket window where they had to be picked up. Therefore, selling them was wrong - no ifs, ands or buts. I gave my extras away to friends.

Third of all, some people are just plain lazy and have more money than sense. They'd rather spend extra money than to take their time. I've seen plenty of stuff sell on ebay that is easily purchased for less in a store. Someone is currently selling Camp Rock birthday invitations for $9.99 plus $5 shipping for six of them. I made my own for much less. I bet plenty of people will just plunk down the $15 and be done with it. Free enterprise. You know, kids just want to enjoy Disney World and movies and all sorts of things - so I guess they should all be not-for-profit organizations?

And, fourth of all - yeah, you did come on here and accuse people of being horrible. Had one of the regulars on here posted their opinion that they thought it was wrong to resell tickets at a profit, I would totally respect their opinion. You obviously have been lurking for some time and instead of taking the time to introduce yourself and participate in the conversation - you jumped in looking for a fight as evidenced by your last line "I am very curious as to what the response to this post will be".

It is in NO way my intention to be confrontational with this post.:)The ONLY part of your post I want to respond to concerns the sale of DCG 2008 Concert tickets. There were several reasons so many people were "wigged out" by the attempted sale of DCG 2008 Concert tickets on ebay.First and foremost, the tickets were free. Also, many people "freaked out" because Disney clearly PROHIBITED the sale of the tickets,so Disney ALSO "wanted to do something about it".Lastly, the tickets were being advertised on ebay as for the "concert of the century" and the "only time you can see all of these acts together in concert".The "seller" failed to mention that the tickets were for a TELEVISION TAPING and not the "CONCERT OF THE CENTURY".For the record,I am not a proponent of selling concert tickets for more than face value, but I think the situation with the DCG 2008 Concert tickets and the situation with the JB tickets are two COMPLETELY different situations and I don't think the comparison is valid. This is just my opinion for what it is worth.:)

Ok, thank you for explaining this situation, I am starting to see and understand the difference in the two events. I agree with absolutely everything you said about the tickets about your time and making a little profit, i understand now. Thank you for explaining why you would do it, which is all i really wanted to know. And i am very sorry if you think my 'approach' was a little strong, I'm just not a 'fan' of scalpers, but i understand that you bought them for personal purposes not to just sell them. So i understand that fact now. Thanks for that. I didn't want my first post to be confrontational in my mind i was just answering your question. I'm sorry if you took it another way i had no intention of that happening.

I was just really curious what the response would be because i was not understanding what made this different from the dc games. And yes i have been following this board since about page 60. And stopped when the Disney channel games ended.

Once again thank you for clearing up the difference.

Edit: and what you said about *choosing* to bid is exactly right. its other peoples choice if they want to up the price. Thanks
