Disney Channel Games 2008???

About how many field tickets are there? As an estimate....?

I am just curious because I have field tickets and want to be able to squeeze myself to the front (if that is possible).

Im hoping not too many cause I want to be up front too!
I'm thinking probably about 400-500 or so? Last years section didn't seem too big....on tv.

did they let you bring cameras in? I know the dcgames2008.com website said that no cameras were allowed at the concert - just wondering about the games.

Hi Guys! Glad you got signed in Sarah :welcome: We certainly encourage the other unregistered posters to sign in-- it is very quick and easy!

We have allowed this thread to continue here since there have been so many non registered users involved in the discussion. There are also several threads dealing with this on our Theme Parks board if you want to check those out.

Just a friendly reminder that argumentative and sarcastic posts are not allowed, whether you are a registered or unregistered user. Things are taking a bit of a snarky turn here so lets turn it back to a polite, friendly and helpful tone. :) We don't want to have to lock this thread and end the discussion.

Thanks! :goodvibes

I've been searching other threads for this discussion and haven't been successful in finding the topic. :confused3 Anyway - where would the appropriate place be to talk about hanging out/hooking up at the DCG? I think we are going to arrive late Tuesday night and go to the tapings Wed - Sat then the concert Sat night. I'm also wondering from some of the WDW vets where the most value is if we are only planning on spending a limited amount of time at the parks. We are thinking of getting two base day passes one for MK and one for Animal Park. Sorry if I'm in the wrong spot mods... I've enjoyed the group here and know the kiddies would love to meet new folks while watching the Games!

YAY!! They finally sent me my new password! I am one of the unregistered posters from today. I am the one who was talking about who else would be at the DCG Concert, about the Radio Disney Contest, as well as the fact that there will be "extras" in the audiences filming for the actual games. Sorry for not signing in sooner :( Hopefully I wont forget my pw anymore :)

generally start?

Did they tape the games on Saturday as well, or just during the week? I live about 1.5 hours away - 1.25 if my husband drives. LOL I'm trying to decide whether to just come over Friday for the games, drive home, then get a hotel for Saturday or whether to stay both nights or what. If I can't see anything at the games, I'll either go to Downtown Disney or Sea World - no $$$ for Disney parks at the moment.
IIRC,the tapings began around 9:00AM,but nothing has been announced about this year's schedule.Hopefully, that information will be forthcoming soon. Most likely the only taping May 3 will be the Concert.:)

Last year cameras-still or video-were prohibited at both the games and the concert, but "somehow" a lot of cameras made their way into Champion Stadium. The ushers would try to stop people from taking pictures at times, but there was A LOT of it going on.The Stars did not seem to mind at all if people took their picture or made their picture with them.:)No information has been released for this year's games concerning cameras, but my guess would be no.:)

the games were taped Tuesday, Wed., and Thursday last year with the concert on Friday night. If they did anything other than that I am unaware of it, those are just the days we went.

I just spoke with an official person from the games. She was wonderful, informative, and knowledgable. She told me that there will be NO tickets for the games. The email addresses, any of them, were only for the concert. She said the seats are in the outfield but the stage will be blocking the view of the events. You can feel free to come in but the times and event lineup still has not been finalized. A fanfest is in the talks but has not been confirmed and may not even be done. When and if things do become finalized it may not be until just before or even during the actual games. Just for the record the person I spoke with was top notch as all things Disney are. As always we will keep each other posted. Here is a hint: keep up on Hals blog for changes. He is a major disney event information distributor.

Instead of "the seats are in the outfield" did you mean to say "the events(games) are in the outfield"?Also thank's for posting Hal's link.:) He covered the DCG last year and his information is VERY accurate. He announced the dates of the DCG as April 28-May 3 way back in the first week of January.I think that was the first time it was announced publicly.:)

I know last year they were doing tapings around the various parks. I doubt the JoBros would be out and about w/out getting mobbed pretty quickly but were there a lot of other stars out at the parks in the hours after the filming for the games was done? My kids are SO excited about doing this (me too, why lie?) that I don't want to shut it down if there are some alternatives to seeing their favorite DC stars. You all have been GREAT by the way. True Disney spirit!!!

As I stated in another post I DID run into Kyle Massey and Cole and Dylan Sprouse in Tomorrowland late one night, but I think the chances of running into DCG Stars in the parks is VERY small. The parks are VERY big!LOL:)I still feel VERY strongly, that with the CURRENT information, the opportunities to interact with the DCG Stars at Champion Stadium will be very similar to last year.I would NEVER try to advise you whether to make the trip or not,I am just trying to give you as much information to base your decision on as I can from someone who attended the DCG last year.:)

I just woke up...lol. So let me think this out. I was told yesterday that the stage will be set up in the outfield and the games will be on the opposite side of the stage blocking us from viewing the event. (I was told we will not be allowed on the field only in the seats, do not know if this is true. Anyone with info on this year please let us know. In the past it was ok but things seem different this year.) I was told that the games were not filmed in succession but in bits and pieces. I was told that they way is was done people complained about it and that is why it is not an "open" event.
To also clear the air I do not feel that this site is taking a wrong turn. This is the best site on the web. Very informative and full of passionate disney fans. Everyone has given such great information and opiniions. I ask that you keep up the good work. Remember a board is only as good as its participants.
I will be there on Wednesday 4/30 thru the end to the concert. You bet your bottom I will be peeking..lol. This is my daughters communion gift and she has no clue yet! I am really excited to meet you all there. Many people are asking about the stadium, here is a link.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney's_Wide_World_of_Sports_Complex

I ask that anyone who finds info via the web to post the link for others to see. Please note I was wrong. I said it seats 9000, it seats 9500.

Someone stated earlier that they will have a paid audience there. I was told there would be no audience by the person I spoke with. Maybe they meant no recruited audience or no actual ticketed audience. I should of grilled her alittle more..lol

Thanks to I love to scrap for those links. Of course I check them all..... =:)

Any information I recieve, I will distribute through this site. Thanks and hope to hear from anyone. Now I really need coffee.
PS I did the firefighter games there and the place is HUGE!

From that Radio Disney Calendar----they have an event on the 27th where they're giving away tickets to the DCG Concerts. Here's the description:

Disney Channel Games Ticket Stop

From 1:00pm - 3:00pm you'll find the Fun Squad at one of Centex Homes' newest communities, Magnolia Ridge, where we'll be celebrating the Disney Channel Games with exciting activities for the entire family. Your family can choose a team to support and wear your team colors: red, blue, yellow or green. You'll be competing against other families for awesome prizes like the golf costume worn by Mrs. Evans (Sharpay & Ryan's mom) in High School Musical 2 and even tickets to see the Jonas Brothers, The Cheetah Girls and Jordan Pruitt perform live at the Disney Channel Games. Tickets aren't for sale anywhere but you can win them from Radio Disney at Centex Homes' Magnolia Ridge, located at 1326 Cypress Ridge Loop in Alfred Park.

So it sounds like the "other Disney Channel performers" is Jordan Pruitt? :confused3

The concert is the only thing we're going for. We only live an hour away and are just going over for the concert. Which I only found out about last week. I had no idea the games were even taped in Orlando. Even when I was a passholder I don't recall ever hearing anything about tapings such as this...never.

So this is news I was thrilled about last week!!! :goodvibes

Is anyone going to the concert?
