Disney Channel Games 2008???

I heard the rumor about Selena Gomez being there as well. Supposedly it was on her myspace? That would be cool, I love Wizards of Waverly Place.

I'm just assuming most of the newer actors will be there, such as: people from Wizards of Waverly Place, As The Bell Rings, Phineas and Ferb, Camp Rock, I'm not sure.

Some of them overlap as well, like:
-Demi Lovato is in Camp Rock and As the Bell Rings (as well as a new movie with Selena that they're filming now)
-Alyson Stoner is in Phineas and Ferb and Camp Rock
-One of the mean girls from Hannah Montana (Ashley or Amber I cant remember) is in HM and Camp Rock.
-David Henrie is in Wizards, but also starred in That's So Raven

I think there's a greater chance for stars from the newer shows, since they're trying to promote them, maybe?

Not sure!

I forgot to mention we also saw Miara Walsh last year, pretty much all the casts of Hannah Montana, Cory in the House, Suite Life, HSM (minus Zanessa), and the international stars.

I am listed as unregistered because I can't remember my password and I request to reset but I never get an email allowing me to do so.

My question is, what time can you get in to the concert? I wasn't planning on arriving until later but now I'm not so sure. What's everyone else doing?

Thanks,
Jen

I am not sure what time I am going, but if it is first come, first served type thing for front row, then I don't plan on arriving any later than 12 PM. I don't care if I have to wait 7+ hours! I've waited longer for Jonas Brothers before.

My daughter & her friend are going to use the two field seats and they are planning on arriving by 1:00 figuring gates will open at 5:00. If it is first come first serve for stadium seats as well, then my little & I will probably be there at the same time. She's bitter about not being able to use the field ticket, but I don't want her trampled in a herd of Jonas frenzy! Sarah you are giving out the great stuff on how it worked last year. My next round of questions was about how much attention the camera crew gave to the fans hanging out. We're already plotting the posters and just bought fresh sharpies! Thank you ALL for the great info. I can't wait to hopefully see some of you in the stadium in 28 days!!!

Yeah they let us bring in our own posters last year, which we made while we were waiting for the gates to open, and the only problem was that we got tired of carrying them around all day.

Last year the people running the tapings would tell you where the best place would be to go to have a chance to be on camera, so it was a lot of back and forth, and eventually we just lost our posters during the moving! lol.

There were not as many people there last year as I expect there to be this year though, it seems disney channel has grown a lot in the past year, and I think there will be more than the tiny group of like 200 that showed up last year.

More people would make it more difficult to get face time with the stars though!

Another thing they did last year was, during the longer breaks to rearrange for the next shoot, they would play episodes of shows (I think we got Hannah Montana and Cory in the House last year). But, many people are saying they wont do that this year.

For those of you who have gone to the games and concerts before, can you tell me if souveniers are available? I try to get a shirt or something for my daughter everytime we do something fun like this. Also, it says absolutely no cameras will be allowed, is that just for the concert? I am so hoping she will get some autographs but am unsure when is the best time to go, we have the confirmation letter for the concert tickets but going to the games is a mystery to me, would love for her to see and get some names if possible. Advice anyone?

I sent back a thank you and got this auto-response:

Sorry, we are no longer accepting ticket requests for the concert. We
have reached capacity.

Unlike last year, we are not actively recruiting audience for the
Games themselves. The games will be taking place between April
28th-May 2nd. At this time we do not have a schedule of times for the
games. Most of the games will take place in the outfield behind
stage. Guests are welcome to come into the stadium and if games are
taking place, they can watch, but the television production of the
games is not spectator friendly.

congrats!!! you have been waiting for that one. cu there.

Last year I know they had souvenier cups at the games, for drinks. I think they also had a small shop outside of the stadium that may or may not have had clothing. I think I remember people buying foam fingers?

As for attending the games, you just kind of go. Last year I showed up about an hour before the gates opened (since I wasn't sure how it worked) but you were free to come and go as you please and stuff like that. I'm sure if they reach capacity or something they would stop letting people in, but as many have said it's not spectator friendly, just a lot of sitting around and waiting for the stars to go back inside (usually when you get a chance to see them).

It's definitely not like a baseball game or anything like that, so don't expect it.

And no cameras are allowed to any of the games or the concert, because I think they want to prevent the winners from getting out and stuff like that since the show doesn't air until July.

-Sarah

PS Mahipp glad you got your tickets!

Thanks so much for the info, just curious though how some photos of the stars were posted if we can not bring cameras? strange. What time does it usually start, the games that is or do we need to watch the posts for info regarding dates and times? So many questions from this newbie, sorry!

My 15 year old is crashed on the couch - Spring Break is hard work! LOL

Do you remember what time the games started last year? I'm trying to gauge what time to leave my house. Of course I have a whole month to plan but...LOL

And, according to one of the web sites, the gates open at 7 for the concert. Do you really think it's necessary to get there at noon for decent seats?

No problem, last year they weren't very strict so if you had a camera, they didn't make you walk all the way back to your car, but they just told you not to use it, and if they saw you using it they would ask again. So a lot of people managed to cheat the system anyways.

I, myself, took pictures on my phone, but they weren't that good since it is a phone.

Last year the gates opened around 10, but the games didn't actually start until about 12 or 1, after that it was mostly waiting around.

However, if you were a passholder, or like an extra, last year you got to go in early and they were filming the announcer parts with Phill Lewis and Brian Stepanek, so the rest of us got to see the tail end of that performance and then sit around for a few hours.

Lots and lots of sitting, and it was very sunny and hot last year. I was burned very badly, and of course I was wearing knee-high socks and shorts, so I STILL have ridiculous tan lines!

Well, remember to take into account who is in the concert. Pretty much the biggest thing since sliced bread for the entire teen population: The Jonas Brothers. We are crazy fans, and we'll do a lot to ensure front row, even if just for a few songs!

Fans waited outside Oprah since 3 AM just to see the Jonas Brothers for 5 seconds.

That's how crazy we are, and I am sure it'll be just as crazy for this, so I am going to ask around while I am at the games and see who's going when, and then hopefully be the first one there!

But I am NOT complaining! LOL We'll be there and that's what counts!

My daughter loves the JoBros - maybe not as much as the fans who got to Oprah at 3am - but a lot. I'm a mom who thinks they are adorable and who wishes I were 15 again so I could put Joe's picture on my wall. LOL

Well I am glad you got tickets for her. I have been to 6 Jonas Brothers concerts, and they are the best. Even one song, and you can just feel the excitement (as well as go deaf from it!) in the room.

It's just fun to dance around and pretend I'm not a college student. Being crazy keeps me sane! And Jonas Brothers help me do that.

I also have a Wall O' Jonas, Kevin is my favorite...and you're never too old to hang a Jonas Brother on your wall. So it may be creepy...it doesn't have to be a jobro...my mom has a Mel Gibson wall! lol.

This question is a bit off topic but has been bothering me very much.

Is there a restroom in the stadium? I mean, of course there is, but will there be an intermission? I am scared that I'll leave for a few minutes for the restroom and have my seats stolen. :(

We're going to the Charlotte show - my mom lives near there and I'll take my girls (I have a 15 year old and a 9 year old) to the concert, then to visit their grandma. We're in row H for that show. I stayed home from work on the day of the presale to buy tickets - I figured that if I was driving 600 miles to a show, I was going to have good seats! LOL

I also bought lawn seats for Raleigh - but I'm not sure if I'll use them or try to sell them.

My husband thinks I'm nuts - but I want my kids to look back fondly on their childhoods. LOL

And, Mel Gibson was quite adorable back in the day. He's gotten kind of creepy as he's gotten older.

Kaitlyn has a ridiculous number of Jonas pix on her wall. I think it's 118 at last count. I was going to repaint her room, but since none of the paint actually shows - why bother? LOL

Yes, there is a restroom, maybe more than one right outside the seating area.

During the games I think you're safe, I don't think anyone at a disney channel event is rude enough to just steal your seat, most of us stand up and walk around anyways.

As for the concert, I can't be sure. I'm going to have to go before, because on the field I will definitely lose my spot if I leave.

mahipp: No, I'm not going to any of the summer tour :( It's very depressing that they aren't coming to Florida! All I can afford is a florida trip since everywhere they can go is only 2+ hours away. Closest one would be Atlanta, but I cant afford gas (or airfare) + hotel + the ticket price. I'm just hoping they come to Florida in September or so!

At least I get to see them at the DC concert, I can not wait! Only a bunch of days, 6 quizzes, 4 exams, and 1 paper away! Yay! Haha!

Right now I am very confused. What would you say I do now at this point.

I want to see the Jonas brothers. Is it free to get in to the games? People are saying you need special tickets to get into the concert.. How can I get them? I know they are sold out or whatever you would call it but is there another way I could get them?

I know the Jonas Brothers are a part of the concert...are they participating in the games too?

Also, does anyone know what times it will be at during the day, both the games and the concert? Like would it be after 2 in the after noon or in the morning, or whatever...

PLeasee help.

-Melanie.

Yes, I have field as well. Stupid tiny bladder. I hope there is an intermission.
