Disney Channel Games 2008???

So I have gotten the confirmation later.

Now.....where do I go to get my tickets? I know the Wide World of Sport but WHERE in there? I mean, it has a bunch of stadiums and such.

I was just called (by whom I do not know) the number was from Celebration Florida. I was told that the games will NOT BE LIKE LAST YEAR. I was also told that the players requested more shade (it was so HOT last year) and they will be playing the games behind the stage that will be built prior.

So there is no official audience for the games, due to the fact that they will be in the outfield taping. BUT was also told you can come by and "take a peek" but no promises of being able to see anything or anyone...

I asked about participaction and a Fanfest, but she had no other information as far as who will be participating or regarding a Fanfest.

She was very pleasant and informative. I thanked her for her call and thought I would pass on the information !!

Radio Disney currently has a sweepstakes running (through Friday) to win 4 days at WDW, including accommodations, spending money, and tickets to the DC games and a meet and greet with the JoBros.

I do know someone up in Michigan who won concert tickets and a meet and greet with Miley Cyrus from one of the in-person contests. I think her daughter had to hula-hoop in one of them to qualify for the entry.

The contests I speak of are actually events in Orlando. YOu go to the store or place they are holding the event. It is going to be a family type event where you wear the color of your favorite team. You have the chance to win many prizes, not just concert tickets. This is completely different from the usual call in and win contests from Radio Disney. (Trust me, I know all about those, my kids have that number on speed dial). So this is actually a "live" event in Orlando somewhere, I wish I could have posted the link...Better yet, I could cut and paste!

From 1:00pm - 3:00pm you'll find the Fun Squad at one of Centex Homes' newest communities, Fountain Park, where we'll be celebrating the Disney Channel Games with exciting activities for the entire family. Your family can choose a team to support and wear your team colors: red, blue, yellow or green. You'll be competing against other families for awesome prizes like the golf costume worn by Mrs. Evans (Sharpay & Ryan's mom) in High School Musical 2 and even tickets to see the Jonas Brothers, The Cheetah Girls and Jordan Pruitt perform live at the Disney Channel Games. The games are open to the public to confirm that but you might not be able to see the games or the stars!

So if the games are open to the public, but you can't see the games or the stars, then whats the point of wasting a vacation out there?

And if there's no audience, then when they air the show on tv it is going to be incredibly lame. The crazy fans make the DCG watchable.

This is stupid, I am going to be out there four days in a row from like dawn til dusk and if I am not going to SEE anything, then this is a waste of time.

So - looks like it's all a game of chance on seeing the DC starts. I'm wondering for those that have attended last year or the year before.... are the stars out and about at the parks after filming? Opinions being sought on whether or not y'all think it's worth it to go for the four days?

If you want to go purely in hopes of seeing these stars, then it isn't worth it. If you think you'll have fun at the parks and think a quick stop by the Wide World of Sports sounds good, then I think it is worth it.

Does anyone have extra tickets they would be willing to give up? I tried getting tickets through the pass holder website and through the other one. I couldn't get any tickets and this was going to be a surprise for my two girls. My one daughter is graduating this year and LOVES the Jonas Brothers. She has never been able to see them before and I was hoping she would.

If anyone can help me out PLEASE PLEASE do.

They will not have paid extras. They will have NO audience. This is do to taping. For those who went in the past, you know it is not in succession. I mean that pieces of different events were filmed at different times. It is not like a baseball game. It is like a movie. ok dunk tank take 1. action. cut.

So those of you that haven't gotten any email back, I don't think you'll be getting any tickets. But the actual disney site has another email link, so you may want to try that.

It seems like most everyone is now leaning toward not going to the tapings.Why? Were you at the tapings last year?The DCG Stars HAVE to walk to the outfield where the games will be taped.They don't just magically appear in the outfield.They WILL hear their fans screaming for them to come over to the stands and interact with them for a few minutes.I have read or heard NOTHING that indicates they will NOT be allowed to interact with fans at the tapings.Last year the Egg Toss and the Dunking Booth were both held in the infield.I find it very hard to believe that the infield will not be used for ANYTHING.Also,there is a possibility that Guests will be allowed down the third base line to the grassy area where we watched the games last year-I have not heard that possibility absolutely ruled out.True enough,it sounds like it will be very different than last year,for instance the concession stands may or may not be open,the PA system may or may not provide information about what is going on,etc.,but I think it will still be fun.Posters are writing off going to Champion Stadium and are asking if maybe they will see them in the parks.YOUR BEST CHANCE OF SEEING THE DCG STARS IS AT THE TAPINGS!THAT IS THE ONLY PLACE WHERE THEY WILL ALL BE TOGETHER AT ONE PLACE AT ONE TIME!They have to arrive at the stadium,they have to go out onto the field for the games,they have to leave the field at some time,they have to go to lunch,they have to return from lunch,they have to exit WWoS at some time-all of these are opportunities to AT LEAST SEE the DCG Stars! While I did run into Kyle Massey and Cole and Dylan Sprouse in Magic Kingdom late one night last year,the odds are VERY low you will run into any of the DCG Stars in the parks.However,at Champion Stadium,you are practically guaranteed to see,and most probably interact with the Stars.If I am missing something,PLEASE help me out and tell me what it is,because I don't want to waste vacation time anymore than anyone else.I am NOT advising people who are coming JUST for the tapings and not as part of a WDW vacation as to whether to come or not-that is a tough decision.I am just giving you MY opinion of where I think things stand with the information we have AT THIS TIME!

You can go to the Will Call window at the Wide World of Sports to pick up your tickets. As you walk towards the complex it is located on your left, that is where I went to pick up my tickets last year...

I hate to see anyone ignored. If I read my confirmation letter correctly,you pick them up at the main ticket booth at WWoS where they sell tickets to all WWoS events.However,I suppose they could have a special tent or something like that at WWoS.Just go to the main ticket booth and they will definitely know.
