Disney Channel Games 2008???

i can't believe there was such short notice about it though... like didn't the commercials start a week ago or something?


okay.. so i have posted topics everywhere but no answers.... so i will ask here. haha
does anyone have any trip reports from the disney channel games?

Went to the Demi Lovato, Avril Lavigne and Jonas Brothers concert in Charlotte last night. Those boys can really put on a show! It was really awesome - I am so impressed with them.

so... has anyone here seen themselves on tv @ the DCgames concert?
it's cool when they pan out to the crowd, and all I can think of are the stories I've read here about how hot and crazy it was especially down front and that people were sick from heat and crazy/shoving crowds. We were at the games but our trip ended before the concert day.

Yes! I agree! we saw them Sat. in CT... had lawn seats... but...
my DDs actually won the chevy poster contest and they gave us awesome up close seats and got to meet them (meet&greet w/photos)!!
WOW! thought DDs were going to PASS OUT! I have to admit, even I was shaking when I had to fill out the winners forms. lol
Even DH, who was kind of just the driver for the day really enjoyed the show and was totally impressed with their talent! they are amazing!

That is amazing that you won the Chevy contest. In Charlotte there had to be 400 people who entered. Some of those posters were very elaborate. My girls entered but didn't stand a chance. Congrats to your girls!

Yes we have seen ourselves on TV numerous times now for the DCGames - my friend wore a bright yellow shirt and I wore a bright coral pink shirt so we are pretty easy to spot in the crowd plus since where we were standing there was hardly anyone behind us towards the end. We were right behind the VIP area stage right.

Wow, wouldn't that be something if we pinned down the 2009 dates?!! No, I didn't get to DHS this trip We did a quick "girls" getaway- my mom, my daughter and myself. My mom hasn't been to WDW in over 30 yrs. She chose to visit MK and AK.
WEDWDW- did you get to ride Toy Story Mania? Yes, the storms were crazy. I don't want to sound mean, but we loved how the storms sent most of the strollers away. We were at MK on Monday evening and walked on several rides. I couldn't believe it!!!

Yes,during the course of the week,I was able to ride Toy Story Midway Mania several times-along with a ZILLION of my closest friends! It is so popular!It really is a great ride-the technology is AMAZING! i agree,the storms did seem to "thin out" the crowds a bit-except for the Brazilian tour groups!LOL

We have been away and I have not been reading the Board. Thanks for all the great information. I had said earlier that we would be traveling during the first episode of the games, but I spoke too soon. My dh booked our flight for very early this a.m. so we made it home to watch! Also, we had talked about trying to make it to the Radio Disney studio (we had talked to one of the interns there) while on vacay and get Ernie D's autograph on one of our posters, but it did not work out.

It sounds like everyone has had a full summer.

Oh, well. Off to record so we can slow-mo to try and get a glimpse of our crew somewhere! I'll be back to hear what everyone has to say after seeing the finished product.

What did you think of the article about JB in The Rolling Stone?I thought one thing:IT WAS LONG!LOL Seriously,I thought it was a good and fair article.One of the more interesting things in the article was Demi Lovato's admission that she is a HUGE Heavy Metal fan! I am thinking Demi may be wishing she had waited a few years to share that news!LOL Also,did anyone see Access Hollywood tonight?They were talking about the rumored "feud" between Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus over Nick Jonas.The only problem was that they showed a picture of KEVIN Jonas! It was HYSTERICAL!

I'm unable to attach a pic of their poster here, can't figure that out, but their poster was regular size, they used sharpies and crayons, i could email you a pic if you'd like... We stood in line from 3:45 and there were already soooo many people in line! by the time they got judged @ 5:15, they weren't even taking pictures of the kids with their posters anymore as they had been for like the first hour or so, so my girls thought they didn't have a chance. The final judging was exactly @ 5:30, and we felt pretty bad for the many people still in line that never even made it to the table! I'd guess there were like at least 200 that they didn't have time for. I'd even guess there were at least 1,000 that entered the CT contest. I think there were more people in line for the chevy contest than at the actual gates to get in to the arena. As word spreads about this contest, it just gets crazier! I'd suggest to go EARLY! And... we saw LOTS of huge elaborate posters, and box-type things, but the judges seem to be looking for just that one little thing that's different/unique. Good Luck! Hope you win!

yea i heard a lot of people didn't get judged. My 3 friends and i are trying to make 4 rly good posters so we can at least win once. I hope they have time to judge our posters =\

The Jonas Brothers' new CD came out yesterday. Target has a "bonus pack" that includes a DVD - well the DVD is the JB performance at the DC Games! We spotted my elder DD in "This is Me" - the duo between Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato.
