OK ... but look at how you phrased this ... "If I am shopping for something and there is an American-made product next a foreign-made one I'll buy the American made product, EVERY TIME, even at double the price!"
So my question is ... what if there's NOT an American-made product and it's still something you want? Do you do without, or do you buy the foreign-made one because there is no American-made alternative? If something you buy regularly used to be "Made in the USA" but it's not any more because the jobs were shipped to Mexico, do you then not buy that item at all, or do you buy the Mexican-made one because there isn't an American option?
My point being that "choosing American when it's available" is different from "choosing American".

If the product is something I require and nobody in the US makes it - I buy it responsibly. If it's something I simply want - I find something else or pass entirely. But with the resources available through the internet it's almost impossible to find a product that you cannot find made by someone in the US. (Note I typed "almost".) I will not buy anything Disney branded that says Made in China on it either.

And, for the record, I have no issue with Disney's CEO or anyone making $30 million a year. I wouldn't mind it being me.
