Disney...by Land and Sea...Morris Style!

Today is an important date in our planning!

Disney released the Military Rates for next year! This means we will be staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge instead of Port Orleans Riverside! So very excited!

You can now return to your regular scheduled reading!

Nothing really new on the Disney front...except that the cruise is paid in full and the credit card is paid off (which is HUGE!) I am hoping that by next year I will have enough points to really help out with the next trip... And I put another chunk of money on the AKL portion of the trip.

I was really really happy about the military rates coming out...and then I realized that the military tickets are not going to be released until Aug 25...and our FP+ day is Aug 24... and the local bases will probably NOT get the tickets for a week or so.

At least I know that it will not be a busy time when we go, so it won't be a real game changer... but I was really excited about getting the FP+ done!

Now for something a bit more personal (if it is possible to get more personal than planning a Disney trip!) Yesterday was a very important day in our house. Husband has his 60th birthday! Now I know that sounds really old... but other than a few more pounds, there is not a lot of difference in him than when I met him almost 40 years ago!

He has been thinking about retiring for the past few years. He has a full time job at the Sheriff's Department and a full time job running his business...a Stump Grinder. It is hard work, very physically demanding.

Yesterday he made a significant purchase. A NEW stump grinder. To the tune of $68,000!!!

In order to market the business a bit I opened up a new FB page for him. Not the most fun way to spend an afternoon...LOL

Then, of course he had to work last night...

Over the weekend I had taken some classes for my business. After I came home I had to take the exams...yesterday I got the notification from the last one that I passed! So all 3 of them are over with...and now on to the next 100 or so! LOL!

And last (but not least) Miss Mia's mommy is exercising...and planning on a marathon in 2016. So she goes to the Grand Princess' house every afternoon to work out...and guess who gets to play with Miss Mia while she is there? ME! That's who!

I guess this could be one of the great benefits of living less than a mile form your grand children....

Well, my post yesterday was done while I was on hold with my favorite place in the world...Disney!

I keep saying I was on hold for 4 hours, but actually I was only on the phone for a total of 3 hours, 59 minutes and 47 seconds... 10 minutes of that time was spent actually talking to Disney!

PSA...for those of you who use a Travel Agent...Please be nice to us! Disney made two important announcements on back to back days. One was Military Discount (which can not be booked online) and the other was Fall Room only Discounts. (which if you want it applied to a current room you have to call!) I read other TAs who were on hold for over 6 hours...and unfortunately there was not a lot of availability for either discount!

OK...PSA over.

I am currently on hold now for one more change...and then I have to run downstairs and get my great niece a name on her back pack...I mean no self respecting relative of MINE is going to start Kindergarten without a name on her back pack! (and yes, she starts back on Tuesday!)

I mentioned yesterday that I had set up my husband a FB business page. It was mainly a way for people to be able to see some of his work...and right now there isn't a whole lot to see. He has gotten over 10 jobs from that page already! While he thinks I am the greatest thing on earth...I want to know how on earth is it that he gets all this business and I get nothing! I mean I have two business pages and I don't think I have actually gotten 10 orders from them both combined in over three years!

ANYWAY!

A little over 2 weeks and my two start back to school. Miss B's first year in high school. If it is like every other year, she will want specific clothes...then after the first day of school will decide NONE of them are the IN style and will want a complete new wardrobe...then within 4 weeks will want a different wardrobe because none of her clothes are IN any longer!

I really wish she went to a school with uniforms!

My older daughter was never swayed by changing styles. She had her own style her whole life and was completely comfortable with it. I guess I was always more like Miss B...

And (to tie this all into our Disney trip) Mr D does not want anything new for school...he wants to save it all for the cruise and Disney trip! Love that boy! LOL

Nini

Let's see.... Tuesday was spent at Therapy all day.

Wednesday was spent on the phone on hold all day.

Thursday was spent waiting on my husband all day.

This morning I have to get down and put that name on a book bag (still haven't made it down there!) Then I have to get some studying done...I am two chapters behind my goal. Then I have some quotes and some payments to take care of...

But guess who got their 4th set of PIN codes for Free Dining yesterday? Yup my son and his wife!

Nini

You can try to put a bug in his ear... but... However, I did tell him last night - he may be able to keep me out of the parks now, but once we have Grands, he won't have a choice in the matter and he won't be able to keep me out of the parks. ::yes:: At least he smiled...

Yay for AKL... I know you've wanted to stay there for quite some time!

Happy Birthday to Rex (a bit late, sorry)... I guess - with the new stump grinder purchase, retirement isn't as close as you'd hoped?

Glad to hear GP's mom is excercising... And you get some of the benefits too.

Congrats to Rex on all the new business - that's awesome!

I am always nice to my TA (I think?)... I do love her, and I am pretty sure she knows it. Annnd, she always finds magic somewhere for us - so that's an awesome bonus too... :lovestruc

LOL about Miss B... She is much like Alli I think... Although - I never buy Alli a second wardrobe - my girls are lucky to get a first wardrobe. LOL

V is the same way with her $$... She has been saving like crazy!

Good luck with the backpack today! :)

LOL... How in the world do they get so lucky??? It's almost annoying... ::yes::

First of all..Grands and Disney go together! (Miss B has actually asked me which rides I am taking her kids on...she is 14!)

The new stump grinder will actually mean an earlier retirement...from the police force! And with this new self propelled, remote controlled stump grinder it will be less taxing on him physically.

I know that he will not fully retire until the day he dies. He is too much like his mom in that regard. She was in the hospital dieing of cancer and was on the phone arranging some details of opening up a new restaurant. Every time she got a bad diagnosis she would open a new restaurant or bar. She was on the phone with a supplier when the doctor had to actually take the phone out of her hand to tell her it was time to say good bye to her family. She died less than 2 minutes later.

I am pretty sure you treat your TA very well...and I am sure she loves you just as much!

Well, I guess everyone is getting tired of hearing that I might be going back to Disney again in February. It was supposed to be just me and Miss B. Well husband and I were talking yesterday , and he decided it would be really bad to go and have a room that sleeps six and only have 2 people go. So he and Mr D will be joining us. LO...yes, he is the one I call a Disney hater!

I immediately thought about taking the grand Princess...but found out she will be having another surgery this winter. It will be the lengthening of her foot (which they had originally said would wait until she was 13, but have decided her foot is not growing AT ALL).. They will have to 'adjust' it four times a day. The 'device' will stay in for 6 weeks and then another surgery to remove the 'device'.

I am not looking forward to it. Last round of surgeries I was one of the care givers. I learned to change out the pump, how to work on the pump. what to look for... but this one is going to be different. I can not put her in pain 4 times a day! The plan is to lengthen her foot over 6 inches in 6 weeks. I will leave the details to your imagination.

But...... I am sure we can have a nice Disney trip to celebrate the end of the procedure!

I managed to finish the back pack. It was a simple name...it should not have been hard. Well, I had a few issues. The placement was a bear! I did learn I should invest in about a hundred or so seam rippers! I can NEVER find one when I need it!

10559159_10202148876555016_1171547911_n.jpg

The goal was not too girly. No pink and no purple. I just hope she doesn't feel it is too babyish...but this is my favorite font for kids.

Have a great day!

Those that know me, know I am a creature of habit. When something happens that throws me off my schedule I seriously hate it! This whole week has been this way!

Every weekend I make out my schedule for the coming week. I always plan in extra time for emergencies, but I have a limited amount of 'down' time, and a set amount of things to be accomplished each day.

According to my plan I am finished with Tuesday...and it is Saturday! Things happened on Tuesday to not let me get back in to the studio as planned that night. You would think that meant I could get that done sometime during the week. Nope.

Wednesday morning I managed to get back into the studio for a while, at least I got the last Christmas tree skirt pieced, but nothing else has been done. Because even though I saw the notice that a new room discount was announced, it looked very similar to the old room discount, In fact, when Disney first sent out the notice they used the same artwork as the previous, and almost the same wording. Since they frequently resend the announcement on the last day of the promotion, I ignored it. As I was finishing up on the last seam on the tree skirt and was looking for my stocking pattern I realized the announcement was for a NEW promotion!

So that is why the whole being on hold all day really messed me up. I could have spend that hour in the studio on hold!

Then on Thursday, I had to wait on my husband all day...then the fiasco with the phone, and the problems with my daughter's keys...and well, it just went down hill all day long!

Yesterday! Where to start? Here in GA we have been dealing with a cool spell. Suddenly, yesterday it went back to SUMMER! Unfortunately, the air in the bonus room (over the garage) went out! I am very grateful that we have three separate heating/cooling systems in our house. So the rest of the house was fine. Unfortunately, the bonus room is the guest room...also the room husband sleeps in when he works nights, After and hour he woke up ...the temp was in the 100's. So the only option was for him to sleep in the bedroom downstairs...but after he went to sleep I realized I was in my jammie pants...and had not had a shower!

Yes, I had some shopping to get done, and no way to get dressed! Also, since the sleeping was being done on the main floor, the kids had to be quiet!

So, this morning I have a ton of errands to run...but I have to wait on the air conditioning guy to show up!

Did I mention I only have 12 weeks until we leave for the cruise? School starts back in 2 weeks... At this point all I can do is to laugh!

And most seriously...I forgot to go feed the grand cat last night! I remembered it at about 3 am... How could I possibly forget sweet Sophie? She has had a very traumatic week...Miss Mia locked her in the dryer... of course Momma saw it and rescued her quickly, but I am thinking Sophie needs to find another place to take naps...Miss Mia said "shhh, night night" and closed the dryer door...

So, with all that whining...I will now go see about getting the kitchen clean...yuck!

Im back and reading. I have to go and catch up.

I have missed you all.

Oh my goodness - that little Mia is so precious!!! I love that picture of her!

Congrats to Mr. D for doing so well! That is awesome!

Hmmm.... I vote for August... I know - our dates wouldn't overlap... Some day - we WILL meet Nini! Once I meet Chiara this summer... You are the LAST Diser on my ultimate bucket list....

I hope you are able to reconfigure your dates to squeeze in free dining... I love FD! :)

D~

I am honored D. that I rank that high.

I am now totally caught up.

Ha ha. It is funny you obsess and I kind of wing every trip. The only thing we have discovered we HAVE to do is have a sit down dinner for J every day.

And thank you for the compliment.

12 weeks!!! CRAZY!!!!

LOL - shame on you for forgetting to feed the Grand Cat...

SOunds like you've had a crazy week!

I still think Nini needs a trip in August... I have room in our room - if she sleeps with A or V... ::yes::

I obsess about obsessing about things! Right now I am worried about not having our tickets until we get there, so no FP+ until then.

Funny that G was complaining about not getting to go and you changed your dates...When husband found out we were going in February, he changed HIS plans so he could go with us...funny because he says he is a Disney hater...and second because we did not even invite him to go!

Funny thing about the Grand Cat...when her family is gone she goes on a hunger strike. We normally visit her three times a day.... since we missed visiting her on Friday and only visited her once on Saturday, we noticed today that she is eating better! Both times we have gotten there she has eaten all her food.

Nini would LOVE tovisit in August! Unfortunately, with school starting on the 13th and our anniversary on the 16th... and the Grand Princess' birthday on the 25th...and husband being on nights... there is literally no way I can leave the kids/house that month!

Although I did tell my husband that it was a good thing we did not get the AP last December or I would be taking a day trip...

I am still holding on to my BOG reservation in early December...but I doubt I will be able to keep that one.

As I noted earlier...I will not be getting our military tickets until probably just before we leave for Disney. They go on sale on the 25, but our FP+ day is the 24th. Then there is the fact that they won't actually be at our base until probably sometime in September. I am going to start calling them every Monday to see if they have some in stock...then I'll run up to get them. It is only a 2 1/2 hour trip...one way!

I am really getting excited to see so many of my friends going to Disney! Even
more exciting knowing I am getting to help a bit on the trips! Almost as much fun as going....almost!

Those that know my touring style know that I am a firm supporter of EasyWDW, and really dislike Touring Plans. So, you will all be surprised to know that I am using the personalization of the touring plans ... trying to see if it will help me put together something that will show husband where to get the DAS and how to go about things... I make all kinds of plans, and then he messes them up by making changes here and there, then complaining because 'my' plan didn't work! I'm hoping that having something on his phone, that he can see in black and white, will help him realize that I sometimes know what I am talking about! (See, Chiara....something else I am obsessing about! LOL!

Plenty of time between the 17th n 25th... ;)

D~

Ha ha ha

My plans are to have dinner in Epcot almost every night ;)

HA ha... at least there is enough variety at Epcot you will never have to eat at the same place twice!

Plenty of time between the 17th n 25th... ;)

D~

Hmm... but the kids would still have to find a way to school and home each day since I am basically their own personal bus driver...since they do not go to school in our district I have to drive them, They would also have to have someone wake them up in the morning, oh yeah, they would have to have someone stay with them at night since Dad works nights...

Although I did go in last night and look at the rates for an AP...If I can carve another trip out of the upcoming year it would make money sense...
the part that doesn't work is the fact that in order to purchase it I have to forget about buying groceries for one month! Think they would notice? LOL!

Last December would have been the best time to have done it...I actually had the money with me to get an AP for myself...but could not convince husband it was a good deal...then we went in February and now October...yup would have made sense money wise to have done that!

I will be so happy when Disney releases the prices for 2015 packages on Wednesday! I have about 10 packages to quote! And then I need to quote and book my February trip!

I am working on Christmas gifts...in case I get busy (read...in case I procrastinate) and have problems finding time to get them all done. I have the Christmas tree skirts all pieced together, I have one stocking front pieced and quilted, and two stocking fronts pieced. I am only making 8 stockings so I have a good start on them. Then, if I have time I will make three wall hangings...

Of course, I have only 81 days until we leave and 40 shirts to do! Have not started them....have them planned...sort of, but not started. I do believe I should really get started on these. I keep telling my self I can do them later... after school starts. But I know the first week school starts I will be taking extra naps to catch up on the sleep I have missed this summer...(I wish!)

On today's agenda is to get the grocery list made, and to try and fit in a trip to Joann's. I know it won't happen because the stupid A/C man has not shown up and I am expected to hang out here and wait on him! By the time I get to Joann's all the cute Disney fabric will be gone! (not that I have any idea how I plan on using it...but STILL!)

Time for second cup of coffee and to study another chapter...

Better than me who leaves in 27 days and is still deciding what to make :)

Better than me who leaves in 27 days and is still deciding what to make :)

Ah yes, but there is one major difference..You work like a whirlwind! Even though you say you are still deciding what to make, you will have ea h kid three outfits a day before you leave!

Me, as much as I hate to admit it, I can't spend more than an hour in the sewing studio at a time without some serious back pain that lingers for the rest of the day. Sometimes it really sucks getting old. (but I am putting off the lower back surgery as long as I possibly can! The neck surgery was bad enough)

But I did go online yesterday, looking for a specific Minnie Mouse red tank (ahem)...and Disney really loves the fact that I have a Disney Visa...$200 later and my shirt list has dwindled quite a bit.

The Grand Princess starts school on Monday, and my kids will be following right behind her on the 13th. So, Miss B is looking at school clothes. She normally just goes in the store grabs a few things, tries them on and we go with it!

She has spent the past week working on what she wants to buy. I gave her a budget ($100) She has shopped online, and has put together a surprising wardrobe! True, it is only three outfits, but she has really put a lot of thought into it. And three outfits for high school on only a hundred dollars is pretty darn good budget wise!

She picked out the boots she wanted, then decided if she got the ones that were a few dollars less at a different store she could also get the shirt she really wanted. I'm really proud of the way she is attacking this! Very out of character...could it be that she is growing up?

Anyway, she did ask if I would spring for lunch on shopping day because she was not going to have enough money left over for the actual lunch... although (I know D will get this) she was very upset that nothing she wanted at Target was part of the same day in store pick up promotion! She was counting on saving that money!

Today is therapy day...and a long one at that! I will be working on the Caribbean Islands today. Memorizing a ton of history, geography, and other fun facts about as many of the islands as I can cram into my pea sized brain!

Tomorrow, Disney is releasing the 2015 package prices! A very exciting day in the Morris household! I have 10 leads that will need some stupendous quotes tomorrow morning. Hoping that I can convert those 10 leads into at least one client! That would be fantastic odds! And make for one very happy momma!

Eighty days! Yup in just 80 days we will be leaving for the cruise! I am so excited I can hardly contain myself! That translates into 26 days until I could make my FP+ selections....that is IF I had tickets!

Now, time for a quick second cup of coffee and then to get the short people up so my house can get noisy again!

That is awesome. So glad Miss B showed interest in shopping. I wish my kid would stop shopping but I think Grandma might want to take her for school clothes. We shall see.

Good luck with the quotes and the Carribbean Islands.

She has never been a fan of shopping....which is what she uses to prove she is adopted!

The Caribbean did ok...I am over my head and realize it, so I am plugging away as best I can. While I will be ready to test over the rest of my studies pretty quickly, I will probably need the full year to get all the facts and figures down for the Caribbean. Maybe the cruise will make me more interested in it! LOL!

The quoting...well, let's just say that I have no earthly idea why anyone (me included) would specialize in a product that has such poor customer support! The system has been down all day. Parts come up and in the middle of a quote you loose everything! Then when you get on the phone you get rude people who feel like we are intruding on them and they are doing OUR work for us...which is true, but I would much rather do it myself...if I were just supplied the tools needed!

Of course the visitor or consumer site has been working perfectly all day! I already heard from 2 clients that thanked me but booked it on their own!

So.....on to a better subject!

I took a break today to get some shopping done. I was at WalMart and they had the Mickey Mouse thumb drives..so of COURSE I had to have one! I also had to get a new power cord for my iPhone. I know enough to always get one that is listed as Made for iPhone...other wise there is no guarantee it will work. Well I did and IT didn't! It is going back to the store tomorrow!

We also got something from school in the mail. Miss B is going to High School next year and they are giving them iPads. So we got our confirmation on when to pick hers up...it also had a few dates listed on there...including the first day of school...which is NOT the day that was listed on the calendar they gave us at the end of school last year!

So I pulled it up on line...and sure enough, they changed it! Really upsetting! They not only start back two days earlier but their Christmas break is shortened by 2 days. But they still get out on the same day. Not sure how THAT works! LOL!

Any way, I am very excited that we are under 80 days...and only a little over 3 weeks until I can do FP+ (if I had tickets) I am having fun narrowing down the selections I want...and I can't wait to see how it all works out with the TP plans!

Yesterday Miss Mia came over to spend a bit of time with me, while her momma went to exercise at the Grand Princess' house. We had a blast! She is so cute, she refuses to be held! Now that she knows how to walk she will not stop going until she literally falls asleep. She will not even sit in the floor to play, she has to stand. She did realize that momma forgot her baby doll. She kept wanting her baby...and then did the sign to show me what she wanted. She kept signing please....and to make sure I saw it she would stand in front of me and grab my arm to get me to look at her and then would sign it...and then look at me and nod her head as if to ask if I understood!

She loves to look at pictures...all the pictures on my wall are named...Momma baby, Dadda baby, UncUnc baby, Lyssa Baby, Nana Baby, Day ee Baby (hard to figure out how to write Mr D's name) and hers are Baby Baby!

So I figured out all pictures are called Baby...with whoever is in the picture being the first name! LOL...She kept asking where Memaw Baby was...because I have no pictures of me anywhere....

I now need to step away from the computer... I have been glued to it way too much these past 2 weeks. I'm thinking a Disney movie tonight!
