I have been meaning to write this post for a long time. On my last trip to WDW we used the Disney bus transportaion exclusively. I hear mixed messages about how people like the bus system and I wanted to post some positive comments.
We went from 10/24 - 10/31 and stayed at CSR. The bus schedule at CSR was OK. There were days when we would wait 15-20 minutes for a bus then there were days when we waited less then 5 minutes. Overall it wasn't too bad. It was about what I expected.
The bus drivers really shine when it came to special needs. On more then one occasion the bus drivers made special stops for people in need. For us it was when we wanted to go play mini golf at Fantasia gardens. That would have involved a bus ride to DTD then a switch to the Swan and Dolphin, but not for us. We were alone on the bus and he took us straight to the Swan and Dolphin! The same thing happened on the way back to CSR! We didn't have to go to DTD, we had direct transportation to CSR (he even asked which stop we wanted).
On our last day there I was pin hunting and waiting for a bus at MK to take me to AS-Sports when a man asked the bus driver how close this would get him to CSR, he had left his video camera at the restaurant. He came aboard and the bus driver took him straight to CSR then the rest of us to AS-Sports!
The next time you are waiting for a bus and you see one marked "Special", don't be upset that it's not going to your destination, they may be helping someone out, and next time it could be you!
Thanks to all the Disney Bus drivers!
