A friend of ours who is a huge Disney guru said she just found out that Disney is going to have an app that allows it's users to see when your bus will be arriving. Has anyone else heard about this? I know it was mentioned a few months ago as a possibility but didn't think it would be possible. Is this now coming true?

CMs are using a form of this app now. Will it be available to guests? Who knows. They may put one out there. But, I'm one of the minority that just doesn't see the purpose. I can imagine sitting in my room, looking at this app, and see that the next MK bus is arriving in 8 mins. So, we grab our stuff and run down to the stop.....only to stand and wait another 10 mins because the bus ran into an issue along the way.
I have watched the current bus arrival times monitors.....they change as you watch them! There can be a difference of 10 mins between the time you saw when you arrived at the bus stop and the time the bus actually gets there.
I just think a bus app will increase the complaints.

Or, you get down to the stop and there are so many people already waiting that you do not make it on that bus and still have to wait for another bus. Another possible issue would be that the person checks the app once and takes there time getting there to find the bus time adjusted and got there a couple minutes earlier and they missed it.

Although the reviews of the monitors does not seem favorable, it makes more sense to have these than to have an app, although it will probably be the same data running.

We were last there in November, does anyone know which resorts have the monitors at this time? Have they added them to more resorts?

Rather than add this app, either as its own stand-alone app, or probably more likely...build it into the MDE app, I'd rather they just put countdown clocks at the resort's bus stops. Best use I can think of is...we get to the bus stop and realize we forgot something (sunscreen, water, ponchos, etc.). If it says the next bus for our park is 15 minutes away, I can run back to the room to retrieve the forgotten item(s). If it says the bus will be there in 2 minutes...I most likely wouldn't go back to the room and just get to the park and purchase what I need there.

Not all of the resorts have them yet. The last time I was there, in Nov, the resorts that had them were in the minority. I'm sure they'll be adding resorts as time passes.
I actually prefer the monitors at the bus stops to an app. Easier to judge if you'll get on the bus. As someone already said....everyone looks at their app at 8:20 and sees that the MK bus will be there at 8:28, and they all head to the bus stop! Huge traffic jam!
In my very humble opinion....too many people are worrying about bus rides taking an addtl 15 mins! This is vacation....slow down, smell the roses!!! If you feel you really need to be able to get from point A to point B in the quickest way possible, then you may be better off renting a car, or taking a cab.
I just can't imagine that any app Disney could come up with, for transportation, would be satisfactory in the long run.
