since patty made me go to m's to get the sei paper (which the sterling va store actually had, I almost fell over, and by the way pam says that the leesburg va store has the paper too)... I wandered around the store and discovered the brass stencils on clearance for a dollar. (most of them, not all of them, but all the cute ones were and the alphabets). needless to say my bill was slightly larger than what I actually went in the store for. maggie

What does everyone do with these? They are so cute, but I don't know if I'd actually use them. For $1 it's worth the risk though :rotfl: I think I'll go today.

no idea, but the full body mickey and pooh were a buck so I bought them. tink wasn't on sale (go figure) but pretty much everything else was. I think I'll try out the mickey on my next paper bag book. maggie

Wow, I got about 10 of them! I got 3 letter sets, some big mickey, pooh's tigers, all kinds of stuff. There was lots of princess stuff but I just got a few, as I only have one DS, no girls. Still don't know what I'll do with them, but I'm sure I'll figure out something.

Thanks for the tip!

You can emboss or stencil with them.

Embossing is putting them over a light source and with a rounded tool trace the stencil. When done you will have a raised image on the other side of the paper

You can also place over paper securely and brush or dab inks or paints over it.

I wondered if I could emboss, I have a fiskers embossing system, so I'll try that. Thanks!

Yes, m's is Michaels.

I don't think they were made for this, but I take an ink pad and blue painters tape, and make cards with them.

I take off what I don't want and take a small dabber and ink it and put the ink around the shape on the mickey stencil. WAIT for it to dry and then pull the stencil and tape off. It a nice added touch since I don't have too many disney stamps. If you are good you prob could emboss them too... not that brave yet. I'll try to take a pic and post.

:( What a bad week to be totally out of money! :sad2:

I have the set of 5 or 6 mini Pooh stencils and the set of Mickey & friend stencils. I've done the dry embossing with them (rounded tool). Originally I thought I'd try using an embossing pen to trace the lines inside the stencil & do heat embossing, but that didn't work - the pen was too large. That might work for the larger ones though.

If the minis are included in the clearance, you could use them like charms. At one point that was what I intended to do with mine - before I figured out I needed to use them with the light box.

I think Tink wasn't on clearance because it was the most popular. Every time I went to Mike's looking for it, there were none left. :( DD really wanted it. They always seemed to have plenty of the others though.

The only charm ones they had were the cinderella ones. The others weren't onclearance. I figured I'd use them as charms.

The others, I'm going to try dry embossing or maybe chalking. If all else fails, DS will like them :rotfl:

I'll have to go look again, about 2 weeks ago I got one of the Disney alphabet stencils, but I would love to have some of the other ones.

Thanks for posting about the sale. The stencils are so cute. I have a few of them that I haven't used yet. I plan to try the dry embossing with them.

Thanks Nicurn for posting this.. we picked up a few last night. First we went into Target where DH said "Don't you want to see the summer clearance?" (as we had done this the other day at a Target by our house, I was shocked he remembered) I said "Nah, one of the Disgirls already wiped them out!" :rotfl: He couldn't believe that we talk about shopping at Target here!
