What are the most vegetarian friendly restaurants/food courts ect....at Disney world. I can only do pasta for so long....lol I'm thinking about offerings like veggie/or black bean burgers and other alternatives. I do recall a special (on the food network) specifically highlighting the new healthy/veg options offered at Disney but the names escape me...

Any help would be much appreciated.:cool1:

thanks so much!

If you call 24 hours out, any restaurant can help you.

I went with a friend who couldn't eat meat or dairy. She refused to call ahead, didn't want to be a pain in the buttinski. We actually did very well. :) A few times she asked if they could change something and they were very helpful, especially Mexico and Morocco in the World Showcase. :)

It wasn't perfect - there wasn't a plethora of things to choose from - but she didn't starve. I think that the only time she broke down and ate some dairy was at a Boma breakfast. She had some eggs.

I don't know what kind of vegetarian you are, but I hope this helps.

Lacto/oVo(rarely,meaning I wont freak out if something contains a little bit of egg...but I try to avoid it.)

I'm vegan and love eating at WDW.

Most places will have something on the menu that is vegetarian or vegan, or can make something work. Some of my favourite places: Jiko (which has a whole separate vegan menu), Boma, the restaurant in Mexico (is it San Angell? I'm having a mental block here), Marrakesh, Fresh at the Dolphin, Liberty Tree in MK, Brown Derby in the Studios. Most of the counter-service places have at least one option - a veggie wrap, a vegetarian chili, a Boca burger.

we are going to MNSSHP Oct 14th and I want to know what a good place would be to eat dinner at while we wait for the party to start....Crytal Palace? LTT?

/a place where it wouldn't be too hard to get a res this late in the game for 2 adults 1 child:confused:

While we weren't wild about the food at CP, they do have a lot of vegetarian options. If you're okay eating a little lighter, I highly recommend Columbia Harbor House as a quick service alternative. They have a hummus/broccoli slaw sandwich and a bowl of vegetarian chili that are excellent. Also, Cosmic Ray's (also counter service) has an awesome veggie wrap. We weren't impressed with the TS restaurants at MK, but they do have some good CS places. Have fun!

I'm vegan (dairy allergy changed me to one) and I *love* going to WDW to eat. Just let them know when you check in and the Chef will come to your table. Here are a couple of my favorites:

Crystal Palace and Boma for buffets
Sci-Fi has a great tofu curry dish
Jiko at AKL is awesome
Tangerine Cafe (know I botched spelling) is great CS and Coral Reef did a super dish for me for dinner one evening; Lots of choices in Epcot, actually.

CS at MK - try the veggie burgers and fixings bars at Cosmic Ray's and Pecos Bill

My least favorite is California Grill - very uninspired and they don't understand we need protein too.

I could not agree with you more. I was totally disappointed with CG. I found Artist Point to be much more vegetarian friendly.

Couldn't see this listed on the recent menu for Sci-Fi - do you have to order this'off menu' and perhaps phone them in advance?

My DD eats 'pretend' meat - we call it 'Quorn' in the UK - do you guys have this in the US - I was thinking that 'tofu' is similar - there has also been a Boca burger mentioned - is this another variety of 'pretend meat'? Is there anything else we should watch out for on the menu?

Thanks

Can I ask what all you get at LTT? I'm vegan, and my boyfriend is vegetarian. We have ADRs there on Sept. 30th for dinner, and I was wondering what all I was going to get. Surely I won't just get the Amber Waves of Grain, will I? Is the salad ok? Did they do anything else special for you?

I'm trying to figure out if I need to call them ahead of time to talk about it, because I want it to be a nice dinner :)

There's a tofu dish on the lunch menu: http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_sci.htm
I don't see it on the dinner menu, but I'm sure they would whip up something for her, if not that then something else. Possibly the shrimp penne pasta could easily be de-shrimped or had the tofu added on instead so there's some protein in the dish.

We do have Quorn here in the USA, but I don't find that it's similar to tofu. Tofu doesn't have any flavor, really, and has a more mushy texture, even the firm kind.

I get Quorn from my health food store(its in the USA). Its the best meat analog along with Garden Burger.
OTOH Boca,Litelife and morning star stink.

Dh is a vegetarian and we just got back from WDW. Everyone here has given good advice. I would stay away from the Garden Grill. Dh said the pasta dish was really bad.

If you go to Boma, see if Chef TJ is working. He'll walk you thru the entire line and tell you what to eat. He may also make you something special. Check out my thread from the other day. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1576305

Crystal Palace had some good options. Dh likes the bean chili at Columbia Harbour House too although it doesn't come with the bread bowl anymore.
