Disney "babysitting" services

My family is going down to Orlando in a few weeks, staying at Boardwalk. My wife and I would love to have one nice night out, just the two of us (California Grill, or one of the nice places at the Grand Floridean), like in the old (pre-children) days.

I've found two companies that have hourly babysitting services, "Kid's night out" and "Super Sitters Inc"

Both claim to be CPR certified, use adult sitters, etc etc etc. Rates are higher than what we'd pay at home, but not unreasonable for Disney.

Anybody have any experience with these, or others, in the area??

We have used Cubs Den (located in Wilderness Lodge - entrance is at the Lodge by the door leading to the Villas and Bus Stop), the Simbas Clubhouse (at Animal Kingdom Lodge), as well as the Kids Night Out service and the Fairy Godmother service. For the WDW sponsored childare you may want to consider Cubs Den, since you could take the boat to the Contemporary for the California Grill dinner. It looks like your youngest is around 1 to 2, so I would check with Cubs Den on age requirements. For the hourly "in room" services, our preference was Kids Night Out. Both Kids Night Out and Fairy Godmother were prompt, worked well with our daughter, and were very competent. However, the Kids Night Out sitter left a detailed account of their activities and was preferred by our daughter. Both of the sitters were very pleasant and our daughter liked each of them. If you call the Fairy Godmother service, the owner answers and can sound a little gruff. The actual sitter was wonderful.
We have had no experience with "Super sitters".
Enjoy your special night out.

our youngest will only be 9 months, and I don't think any of the Disney services cater to children that young.

Thanks for the input on Kids night out.

My kids are teens now, but on two different visits they went to the Neverland Club at the Poly. They had such a good time that they asked to go back. (We were happy to oblige. We enjoyed the alone time.)

We use FG all the time, and love the sitters from there. We continue to use them even though DS is 5. He'd prefer to go to bed after a long day, not be in the kids' club until late at night.

my oldest will be 11 on her next trip and is sad it could be her last time going to one of the kid clubs ( if she even goes then ) But the Kids clubs and the Fairy Godmothers are 2 that we have used and we were very happy in all times used. We've used both several times . The clubs are the most fun BUT the FG showed up with a suitcase filled with stuff for the kids to do books games cards coloring and such. ( also if plans are made in advance , like when booking the time they will even take the kids out to the playground or if you pay to a park < we did not do this> )

We were very happy with the Fairy Godmothers and would use them again!

When we stayed at Boardwalk, we used Fairy Godmothers and were thrilled to death with the sitter they sent. She came at 4 PM with a suitcase full of age appropriate toys and activities so we could get dressed up for our fancy adult night out. We left at 5:30 and she made the kids dinner (spaghetti and salad), give them a bath, put them to bed and even did the darn dishes. We tipped her generously and took her name so we can have her back on our next visit. I highly recommend FG.

I can't find Fairy Godmothers via Google. Can someone find a link or phone number for me??

Thanks for all of the good suggestions

How far in advance do you have to use one of these services or is it walk in, call in and depends on how utilized they are?

these are in-room services, basically a baby-sitting service that comes to you by the hour. Usually a 4-hr minimum.

If you call FG, just remember that the owner is an older woman who sounds a bit gruff sometimes. Her sitters are great, though. It's a small, family run company that's been around for 20 plus years. She's downsized recently, though, so call ahead to make sure you get the dates/times you wants.

Kids night out has a website, kidsniteout.com. They are quite similar, but a bit more corporate, which appeals to some people.
