I seem to remember a thread or 2 about Disney making some
big announcement on either New Years eve or New Years day.
Has this happened yet or not?

Is that it? Quite a lot of hype for not very much.:confused3

That's the very definition of a Disney announcement isn't it? ;)

There was a couple of other bits as well - one night free when you book 3 or more between certain dates, and also they are giving away holidays but only to USA or Canada residents.

Most of Disneys 'big announcements' turn out to be damp squibs, so why shouldn't this one be any different? ;)

:goodvibes

They are making everything "big" smaller due to guest demand :lmao: Except the price rises of course :sad2:

with disney its simple.... big announcements mean its something dreamt up by sales/marketing/bean counters and will probably actually cost the guest more.

anything interesting doesnt actually get much of an announcement at all - ie avatar land.

I assume their logic is that if its a true attraction then it will sell itself and they dont want to spend any money on marketing it because the build costs are costing so much anyway.

Oh!

What a damp squib. That wasn't very interesting at all.

Thanks for the replies anyway.;)

It was announced last night - Magic Kingdom will be open for 24 hours starting 6 a.m. on 29th Feb. Full discussion in this thread:

I actually think thats quite cool. I would love(if no kids) to arrive at MK at midnight and ride the rides until the sun rises, have breakfast at Crystal Palace, and then go back to my resort.I think its quite a good Leap Year experience! OK, so no big free hand out, but fun:thumbsup2

except it wont be riding rides until sun rise because it closes at 6am and apparently sunrise is around 6:50am. :)

So you could kinda get there at 6am on the 29th and ride a ride before sunrise I suppose, but not ride rides all night until sunrise.

I too was like "meh" :lmao:

I know we have some offers on that are for the UK only but surely they could have announced something for us on the other side of the pond :wizard: or am I just being a little greedy? :confused3:rotfl2:Maybe!!!
