I agree Gail, once again, the Yankees have shown that they can buy a world series. But on the bright side, football season is still on and soon hockey!

BTW ASU interview is tomorrow, they gave me the wrong day. And I am overqualified for Pulte, so I am back to maybe ASU and maybe the financial advisor. I need a job soon.................

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! This is my first b'day on the DIS, and it was an enjoyable one!

My DH and kiddies got me the Clay Aiken CD!!!!!!!!!!, a gold necklace w/ Mom written on a charm w/ Mickey below it, a beautiful sweater w/ a blouse underneath it, a Penguin charm for my bracelet, and a pair of Oakley sunglasses that I wanted. They done good. Oh, and my DS made some really special b'day cards for me - he is so thoughtful.

Alan - will look at the pics tomorrow while I am at work. Did you have fun?!

Gail - sorry to hear the sad baseball news - I was really pulling for them. Don't really care now who reaches the World Series. This just gives you more time to DIS!!

Marsha - good luck at the interview tomorrow. can you talk them into more money?

Sex and the City isn't for everyone I guess. My DH and I think it is hysterical. We also love seeing parts of New York City. It's definitely something I won't let my Mom borrow!

Good Morning All~
I ended up taking Meg to Urgent Care yesterday afternoon...they x-rayed her & said that her foot wasn't broken. She apparantly just bruised it deeply or did something to the tendon. They put her in an ace wrap & an lovely orthopedic shoe to keep her foot from bending too much. My fashion diva daughter is not very happy with the orthopedic shoe.... A cast would have made her much happier cause she could have at least chosen her color Anyway she's just gonna have to deal!
Dylan has an appt this morning at the ortho....keep your fingers crossed that when they re-x-ray him they'll be able to remove his cast.

Poor Meg... I hope her foot is feeling better soon! I am glad it isn't broken (even if she has to wear the ugly shoe ) and PD to Dylan for his arm!

I'm sort of tired today. Stayed up late to cheer on the Cubs. Too bad they couldn't pull it out at the end.

Lars - oh the horror for Meg! Ortho shoes! Seriously, I hope she doesn't have to wear it too long, but at least it isn't broken.

Got the name for my fall exchange! That lucky person will be the beneficiary of my recent trip to WDW. I have almost everything purchased already. Just a few more things and it is ready to mail!

power went out in the middle of the night, which wakes everyone up when the security system and smoke alarms switch over to battery backup......the make a hellacious beep.......


gonna need a nap today...but off to find a stroller first for WDW....I'm too cheap to rent one for 8 days......

baked ziti for dinner tonight..it's already in the freezer, gotta love that....how about you???

Steph, there is a stroller exchange thread on the budget board, you know, someone left it for the next person, it is actually a nice stroller, and gets handed off regularlly. Check it out! There is also a thread on the debate board about too many strollers in the world, and that if your child can walk then don't ever take a stroller, if they can't don't even go, they can't appreciate it anyway, and how dare anyone take a kid less than 10 or so because it's nothing that they will rememberanyway. But don't go there, I think they finally locked or deleted, got too nasty even for the debate board.

I was sorry to see the Cubs lose. It was the first time I was interested in baseball for a while. Now if the Yankees win, I won't watch the Series at all.

What a tragedy with the Staten Island ferry. How awful.

Today is the last day of school this week. Friday is a teacher's day or something. No school but football goes on. I am not working tomorrow either.

We're back from the ortho doctor already....Dyaln got his cast off!!! He was happy to get it off but freaked out when he tried to walk The doctor said his muscles would be weak for a few days & they really are....he just collapsed when he tried walking
He is limping & moving slower now than he was with the cast. He's gonna spend the day with Mommy today & we're gonna pracitce getting aruond before he goes back to school tomorrow.
