Just a quick hello. Been busy at home w/ all the b'days.

Gaspode - welcome back. waiting for my postcard.

Merry - congrats on being cancer free for 2 years!

LK - wasn't there someone in charge at the campsite? I would have been pissed too, and I don't think I could have kept my mouth shut.

Sandi - I am wearing a sweater today! This weather is crazy.

Steph - happy packing!

Rebecca (Mrs. AlabamaAlan) did not sing her scheduled solo Sunday because she was feeling bad, particularly in her throat.

The music director called last night and asked if she would sing this Sunday. Since her name was on the program and in the newsletter the previous week, folks were expecting her to sing and at least one had invited guests for that reason and they wanted to know when she could be rescheduled!

I realize that is bragging, but my point was to illustrate how fortunate we are to have a church family that supports and loves her so much.

Since she is still not feeling good, we decided to go to the doctor. She has never fully recovered from her bronchitis a few weeks ago and is getting worse each winter for losing her voice for periods, sinus infections, etc.

We discovered today that it is probably because she has asthma which had gone undiagnosed. (I will not even start on the doctor we recently left to go to one we are much happier with)

Tune in tomorrow for the results of the MRI she had this afternoon due to a recurring wrist problem.....

Homework saga - part 2

We sent the note into school on Thursday morning and EB said she saw her teacher read it. No response that day, Friday or today. Nothing specifically said to EB in class although she did say she learned how to do the problems we struggled with.

Today I asked her if she had gotten back the homework sheet and she pulled it out of her folder - marked incomplete!!! The kid didn't understand the work and neither did her parents given no real directions were printed on the worksheet.

I'm not one to think my kids have no responsibility for their actions but we told her to turn in the paper unfinished because she needed help to do it. We wrote the teacher a note. SHe should have been able to finish it once she was given proper instruction.

One reason I'm so upset is that our school has a "club" that allows the kids and their families discounts from local businesses and stuff like free ice cream. Both kids have qualified every quarter since they've been eligible but one incomplete homework assignment means she won't get it this time.

I think it's time to call the teacher since she clearly lacks in the common courtesy of responding to a letter. I think Lew better make the call since he can be much more diplomatic than I can!

Hope the Mrs. feels better soon Alan. I'm hearing of lots of folks who have had undiagnosed asthma recently. Hope your new doctor helps her recover quickly.

Gail - deep cleansing breaths for you! I would be so mad at that teacher also. Poor EB shouldn't have to suffer with an incomplete and the loss of her reward based upon what happened. I can't believe that teacher would ignore the note and give her an incomplete. Ggggggrrrrrrr.... better have Lew handle this one.

Alan, sorry to hear about Rebecca's health problems. Hopefully with the asthma diagnosis they can start her on the right medicines and get her feeling better pronto! You have every right to brag away about her - sounds like she has quite the gift for singing!

Sandi, I hope you are able to visit your DS while he is in Europe. That would be tons of fun!

E - sorry that some jerk stole your Mickey topper. I've heard a lot of people say that their's have been stolen. I just took mine off the other day - his ears were starting to come off from hitting the garage door.

EB having school problems, Rebecca having Asthma, Diane having any possible number of things, Bernie missing, Dylan being picked on, E!'s topper being stolen......and all the other stuff, I feel it is time to Get those uniforms on and lets go! Angels to the rescue!!!!

Can you tell I got 4.25 hours at work today, and did some accounting work! But it is not much of a challenge. I have a 7:30 am appointment at Robert Haft Account Temps tomorrow, not the accounting side, but the general office side. THey will be the last recruiter I go to. So far, number one has done NOTHING else, number two has put me in the world of beauty, I am hoping for something a little more substantial. MAybe I have my sights set wrong. I don't want to be stressed to the max, but I do want to be busy all day, and I can't work slowly to make it last, I have to get it done.

You must have been sending out vibes my friends because about 15 minutes ago the phone rang, and it was EB's teacher!!!!
She admitted she had forgotten about the note last week and she was concerned because 2 hours of homework means she's spending too much time on it!

Lew was home too, which is unusual on a Monday so we both got a chance to talk to her and she probably stayed on for about 15 minutes. I think we all understand each other better now.

Thanks Angels......and you didn't even need the uniform!
