Wow that was a long 10 minutes ;)

Good evening all !

Happy Anniversary Bernie and Sharon .... hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow !!

Welcome back SB,LK and LTM !!

Hope everyone getting back into the school routine doesn't find it too difficult .... hopefully the kids will be ready to go see all their friends !!!

Now time for a little vent so bear with me .... think I told you how my ex and I (we broke up last year) were going to give it another try - he called and initiated .....things haven't been going that great and tonight I get home and there's a message for me from him telling me how he doesn't think we should see each other anymore ....... "sorry for having to tell you this on the machine" ..... how can he really be sorry when he made a conscious decision to call my house at 3:20 pm when he knew I'd be at work ..... I just don't understand how he could be so afraid to talk to me ...... I wouldn't have tried to talk him out of it - I almost called him at work today to ask him to get together to talk about how things were going........it is time to stop pretending that we can make this work - it just irks me that after all the time we were together (about 5 years) that he would do something like that on the phone ............ I guess some things you're just never meant to understand ........ I tried calling him a couple of times but line is busy .... maybe he took it off the hook ! ok - vent over ..... I hope he'll be willing to talk at some point because even though it's over I think 5 years deserves better closure than a message on a machine - if he doesn't need it then I do ..........

Thanks for "listening" .....

Evening All!

{{{hugs}}} for you spb! Men are men. I agree that was a terrible thing to do over the machine.

Welcome back Valerie! I'm glad I at least got to talk to you on the phone. Someday we will meet.

Today we went to my dad's new house w/ the LK family. About 1/2 hour before we were going to leave, my DS, DD and Logan were on a wooden 2 seater swing in the backyard and were swinging too fast and the swing fell backwards sending them all to the ground. I heard screaming and ran to the door thinking my kids were fighting when I saw the swing turned over. My kids were crying and I had Logan help me w/ getting the swing back up when I saw blood on my DS's hand and a little gash near his right eye. When my DD saw the blood she started freaking out. I took my DS to the hospital while LK stayed w/ her family so my DD wouldn't be afraid. In the end, he didn't need stitches which he was very happy about. He has a butterfly bandage and a bandaid on and he probably will have a very pretty black eye or swelling in the morning - just in time for his first day of school.

I won't be joining you tonight Todd....I'm pooped!!!

{{Hugs}}} Sandy. Wish there was more I could say. :(

Spb, I'm so sorry. I agree that it was a stinky thing to do, leaving a message on your machine that way. I don't blame you for venting. We're here if you need a shoulder to lean on.

The swing accident sounds scary! Glad he didn't need stitches. You'll have to take pictures on the first day of school. That'll be a classic memory someday.

Alan, glad your wife went to the doctor. Sorry she's been under the weather. Hopefully she'll get better fast.

Donna, I don't even want to think about sending kids away to school. David is in 10th grade, so it won't be long.

No nice fall weather here. It's going to get up to 99 all this week. I think it is going to cool off a little this weekend. Unfortunately, we don't get much in the way of fall in my neck of the woods. Seems like we have Indian summer until late in the fall. Then the leaves all turn and fall. One day it's beautiful and the next the trees are bare and winter has arrived.

I found DD's black jeans and DS's chinos and a couple of new Hawaiian shirts. It was a productive shopping trip. I also got DH some new pants and a shirt. Nothing for me this time.

{{{hugs}}} for Mommy Lorraine and Auntie Laura too! Matt got cut above his eye when he was only 3 and did need stitches. The first day of school pictures will be conversation pieces this year and you'll always chuckle when you see them.

I went shopping too Melissa but also got nothing for me. :(

Time for bed!

Lorraine , glad to hear that your son didn't need stitches.....
hope he's doing ok now .... that first day of school picture will
be a classic !

Absolutely not....they just showed up one day and you decided to keep them! ;) Good luck to the Lars-clan....and their mom on the first day of school!!!

We dug the backpacks out of the basement last night and loaded them up. Our first day is Thursday so they have 2 more days of camp and 2 more nights of no homework. Thursday night I get all the lovely forms to fill out.

Sandi, {{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}

It was so nice to talk to all the Riddlers that I did while you were at riddle con :) Maybe next year it will be in person!

Good wishes for all those going back to school this week! I still have a few days till the students come back, but I have been in the classroom getting set up and organized...I am sooooo nervous!!!

Happy Anniversary to Bernie and Sharon!

A bit of an up-date on my mom- She is continuing to improve, and is talking well with the trach. The doctor said she would never be able to talk with a trach....guess he does not know my mom very well! She has go be able to go 72 hours with the trach corked (meaning she is breathing on her own) before they can take it out. She is up to 14 hours already! She is getting stronger now too, and has been up walking between 10-15 steps. We do have worries though....she still has the feeding tube and she is very adament that she will NOT live with a feeding tube. She has told the doctors that she wants it out before Christmas, and if she is not able to swallow or eat on her own, then nature will take it's course. We are hoping that it will not come to that and she will be able ot eat on her own again. The doctors say the tube is permanent, but she has defied the odds several times since this whole thing began.

M65-I'm so glad to hear that your Mom keeps improving! I hope that she'll be able to defy the odds again & be able to be free of the feeding tube. {{{hugs}}} for you & good wishes **~~PD~~** for your Mother.

Absolutely not....they just showed up one day and you decided to keep them!
and I was only 12 when they arrived:p ;) :p

Good Morning, All!

Sandi, my heart goes out to you. I wish there were something to say. Men don't like confrontation and some go more out of their way than others to avoid it. I hope things get better and you meet someone who cherishes you. XXOOXXOO

Valerie! Your mom is awesome! I just love that spunk! I'm betting on her defying the odds yet again and getting rid of that feeding tube!

Lars....we're not getting older....we're getting better. Think fine wine, not big WHINE.....LOL LOL LOL

We're on our last week before school starts. Summer is finally winding down but you'd never know it by the pace we're keeping! I have a few more tricks up my sleeve to make the end of summer fun!

Enjoy your day, everyone!

First off

Happy Anniversary Bernie & Sharon

Good morning all :) Hot and muggy again here today! I have my first session of PT as well tonight so I hope that goes smoothly.

Sandy, I am so sorry you are going through that. I wish I knew what made him do what he did via the machine. He's probably afraid of something and it possibly has nothing to do with you but with him. Anyway, hang in there and your prince some day will come to you {{hugs}}

Sandy, I was thinking the same thing myself last night ;)

What an evening for you, Lorraine (and LK too). I hope that his eye feels better too! I am sure that cut will be a big hit at school though ;)

Merry, your normal fall is about what we had last year! It does cool off a little towards the end of Sept or so and we have about 2 weeks of gorgeous color. Doesn't last long but it is beautiful :)

Gail, how could you go shopping and not get something for yourself?? I exepct more of you next time ;)

 Hi Todd!

Lars, good luck with sending them off to school today!

Val, so glad to hear that your mom is improving. I will keep her in my prayers (as well as all of you) I hope that the feeding tube will come out because it can and that she can eat on her own. Wishing you all, all my best!

Morning Gina! Enjoy your last week off before school starts!

Just a quick good morning to my Angel ATMWLT Friends!

Sorry I've not had more time to talk about the adventures of my WDW trip, but I came back to work at the beginning week of one of our peak seasons so my worklod is keeping me from DISing (for shame!!! ) as much as I'd like to.....

Lorraine....glad to hear that the "swing incident" didn't require any stitches....I DEFINITELY would "make the memory" by getting an off to school photo!

Sandi - sorry to hear that you were treated so thoughtlessly and with such disregard....I tend to agree with Elaine in that his issues probably have little to do with you - not that that helps how this makes you feel...{{{hugs}}} to you!

M65 - continuing to keep you Mom (and you) in my prayers for her CONTINUED strength!

Good Luck (and congratulations) to all the Moms/Dads who are sending their wee (and NOT so wee) ones back to school this week. I don't know where the summer has gone.....but at LEAST it means the RIDDLE will be returning soon, right????

Have a great day all!

Valerie :D

OMG!!
I had a hysterical DD this morning!! First day of high school & as soon as they got to the bus stop it started to rain............and the bus never came!! I had to drive them to school & she was soooo upset!!
I had a really nice pic of them (taken before they got wet) uploaded to post but Imagestation is down right now.........I'll post it later.

Good Morning Angels and TMWLT

The kids survived school yesterday. DD has small classes. Both AP classes with less than 20 students. DS has some with 30+ students. Tonight we will do the school supply shopping. (Please check out my shopping for calculator thread.)

Last night my cousin from Texas was in the area for a visit so DH and I took him out for dinner. I hadn't seen him in more than 10 years. It was nice to catch up on his branch of the family.

Sandy, {{{{hugs}}}} to you. Sorry your ex treated you so poorly.

Lorraine, glad no one was more badly injured. That must have been scary.

Laura, I am sure you can't wait to hear about the first day of high school. We will be waiting to see the picture. Our first day of school picture was by the car because DD drove to school for the first time in it.

Val, your mother certainly is making progress. If she can't get off the feeding tube, PM me. I have thoughts on that.
