Hello Angels. Just a quick check in.

The rain started around 2:30PM. It has been windy all day but getting really windy now. The cable was out for a while and the electric was out from 4:45 until 7 PM. I hope it stays on long enough to watch Survivor.

While the electric was out, we had dinner. Didn't know how long it would be out so it was cold sandwiches and chips on paper plates.

I am tired of the adventure already. Hope to be able to visit with you later.

Hang in there Carol. Sounds exciting, but not fun.

I'm anxious to hear what Marsha found out about the job.

Hope they don't need your help Elaine.

I got to walk David to his gate. They very kindly wrote out a pass to get me through the checkpoint. I was glad. His flight should have taken off around 5:00 and it was after 6:15 before they boarded. It was a long wait and he was nervous. I haven't heard from him yet to tell me that he landed safely, but I told him to wait until he found the group. It might be a while before he calls. After all, I don't know what time the plane took off.

CS, we are just south of Oklahoma City in Norman. It's about 3 or 4 hours from here to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. DS was laughing that we could have made the drive faster today and he's just about right.

We had pizza for dinner. When I didn't leave the airport until about 6:30, DH took pity on me and ordered pizza.

Thanks for all the positive thoughts. He's there and has met up with one of the adults. Whew. I knew he'd be okay, but I was just a little nervous.

I'm happy that we have a new family plan with our cells. He can call us whenever he wants this weekend on my cell. That is such a good feeling.

Good Evening Angels!

Carol, I hope you got to watch Survivor!

Melissa, Glad to hear David arrived safely.
I know what you mean about the cellphones. Since DD is in Philly at school, I like the convenience of being able to get a hold of her day or night!
I booked the photographer last night. He's the same one that did BIL's wedding 10 months ago.

E, I didn't get a chance to say, Happy Disversary!
Btw, mine is tomorrow! 3 Years Here on the CB! Time sure does fly when you're having fun!

I hope both our Laura's are feeling better!

SB, Did you stay dry during the game?

they have 2 more people to interview, one was right after me, and one mext week. For me, this job woukld be a breeze, I hav.e to be very careful tho, the HR director says the phones can be very busy, sometimes 3 calls at once (GASP), I didn't laugh then but had a good chuckle with my sister on the way home. I am sorry, but this company is 100 people total, and I had over 200 in my office. But then again, I have no idea what the real world is like, I have been far too long in the big corporate environment. I really don't know if it went well or not, it's the first real interview I have ever had in 32 years. I know I could do the job, it is about 1/2 hour drive, 20 miles, and the only downside it is is about 2 minutes from the Biltmore Fashion Park Mall, Macys, Robinson-May, Dillards, and Cheesecake Factory. I would really have a hard time adjusting to that.

Merry, that was very nice of them to allow you to go to the gate. I am glad he made it OK. You know, it's only about 12 hours drive from my house to OK City. It is a lot further to Abeline (SP?) near CS, but I have driven it twice - to and from Atlanta.

Carol, hang in there, I hope it is only rain., I have to see what is going on with my sister in WIlliamsburg, she works in Newport News, so I guess they stayed home today. See you all in the AM

Oh my I amlost forgot, new tags, what a cool surprise! THanks tag faeries!!!!

Merry: that's not too bad a drive but then people here do it almost all the time:)

Marsha: Abilene is near where I live and about a hour from where DBF lives

Hmmmm.....no word from Carol.....if her power is out again I hope she got to watch Survivor!! I haven't seen it yet but we taped it. Just got home from Boston.....our Red Sox played a good game although I was nervous in the 9th because Tampa came very close to a tie. I can't believe they played in Baltimore this afternoon, despite a state of emergency!

I hope everyone has weathered the storm which seems to be dying down.

Glad to hear David arrived safely Melissa. I also agree that cell phones are wonderful.

Sounds like wedding details are really coming together Sandi.

I believe that the Pirates had a victory today too.

Glad to hear your interview went well Marsha...and I'm jealous, I could use a new tag or two!

Happy DIS-versary to E and to Sandi....hi to CS!!!

Hope I didn't miss anyone........oh yeah, <font size=4 color="#800080">Hi Steph!!!!</font>

Morning Everyone!!!!!!

I have an early appt. with the stylist today....we'll see if he cuts my hair THIS time.... I'm taking Meghan along with me, something I've managed to avoid for 3+ years now....so yesterday I was trying to prep her for going to "Shawn's" and told her I was going to get my hair cut....she was all excited.....and she looks at me and said "we're going to Disney!!!!" poor girl has never had her haircut anywhere else....she's in for a shock today!!!!!

Good Morning Angels!!
Not much new here..........I'm very :o and starting to sip coffee in order to pry my eyes open.

I wish you many more happy years together!!

Morning Angels! I hope those of you in the east are weathering the storm. We talked to DBIL last night who lives in DC. They had wind, but had not yet had rain when we talked to them. He had already had to go pull off a loose piece of siding that was banging on his house.

Hope you get the job Marsha. Sounds tailor made for you.

Congrats to the Sox, Gail! Twins swept Chicago Sox in 3 great games this week. I got to see two of them. Now we are 3 1/2 games ahead in the AL Central. Happy Anniversary too!!!

Happy Hair cut, STeph!:)

David is probably having such a good time, he will forget to call his mom! They seem to do that at that age.

I have to start taking prednisone again today YUCKKKKKKKKKK! I HATE the anxiety it gives me!

:bounce: Happy Annivesary Gail & Lew :bounce:

Pretty much all we had planned for the weekend is cancelled. Here is what I posted on the riddle thread.

I am in a blue mood today. The kids were really looking forward to there first band performance tonight at the football game, which of course was cancelled. That is not the bad one. University of Delaware has Band Day where they invite neighboring high schools to play at half time of their football game with the UD band. It is the 300 member college band with about 2000 high school kids. Very neat and the kids really look forward to it. It is Saturday night. As far as I know, it is still on. But the school board has cancelled all transportation. It is only 15 minutes away and many parents have to work our booth in the concession stand so why can't we just drive the kids? The school was locked at 1:30 yesterday and is not to be opened until Monday. All the uniforms and instruments are in there. DH bought a ticket to the game because he has never seen Sarah play there. I am signed up to chaperone. This is DD's last year and now it looks like it will go on and parents will be in the concession stand but the kids won't be on the field. This is just a shame. We are all really upset about this.

I guess I should be grateful that we had no damage and everyone is safe, but I am still sad.

I need to get out of this funk. Talk to you all later.

Hi everyone (including Steph  ;) :) )! Rainy day here of course, but it doesn't look as bad as they were predicting earlier in the week.

MP, glad that your DS got there safely. I hope he enjoys his time there.

Gail and Lew - Happy Anniversary!!! Tomorrow is my DH's birthday. We are going to the Pirate game and then we'll have his family over for dinner on Sunday. Actually, I think he wants our BIL to come over to help him finish our shed, so we'll throw in dinner and call it a birthday celebration.

Last night, Lenny and I attended a charity dinner for a young boy who has cerebral palsy. He is the son of the guy who runs our payroll service company at work. He is such a cute little boy! There is an experimental therapy for kids with CP that is only available in Poland, so they were raising money to send him there again. He went for a month this summer and they were amazed at the upper body strength he gained from that one month. It's a shame that the US doesn't have anything like this. They showed a very emotional movie about Matthew's life and his struggles. I was crying at the end.

Carol, that is such a shame that they won't make a special attempt to allow those kids to get their uniforms and instruments and attend the game! I'd be very upset also.

I just sent an email to the principal and the band director basically begging them to let the band go. Then I threatened to send the Angels over in their uniforms. (I didn't really threaten.) I guess there is not much more I can do.

LK-I hope that they are able to raise enough $ to help Matthew. I can't understand why the US doesn't offer that treatment anyhwere...such a shame.

Carol-A few things....................
#1-I taped Survivor
#2-I am so glad you guys are safe!!!
#3-The band thing is very disappointing....I hope that your email will do some good.....my fingers are crossed for Sarah & her fellow band members!

Morning Angels!:D

Lot to catch up on since yesterday.

Sandi - happy DISversary to you! it didn't start raining until after the Pirates game ended yesterday. my family is supposed to go on Sunday to see the last home game. usually they give away a lot of prizes, so we'll see if we are lucky.

E- a belated DISversary to you too. did you have any problems w/ the phone service yet?

Steph - good luck w/ the haircutting experience.

Marsha - nice tags. did you ask them if you could DIS while you are answering those 3 phone calls?!

Carol - that really stinks about the band. hoping the principal or band director can help you out.

MP - glad to hear your DS arrived safe.

Raining here, so I am just going to hang out w/ DD and find something to pass the time away.

I agree that it is a shame about the school and band uniforms. I hope it works out.

However, if the angels wearing uniforms get hold of marching band instruments, I just want to warn you to be careful of the cybmals!

Happy Anniversary Gail! That's wonderful news!
