We got stomped at the football game. It doesn't help that our first game was our huge rival. I guess I can't complain, since the team that won was my old high school. I was a winner either way the game went. I must admit I was cheering for my son's team though.

Having said that, the band was awesome! I found myself grinning like the cat that ate the canary. You know the movie The Music Man? I felt like the mother that stands up and says something like, "That's my Timmy. Play to me son!" LOL! I did contain myself and only gave him a frantic wave or two which he responded to with a slight nod of his head. We're watching the replay of the game on tv right now. Mainly we want to watch halftime again.

The weather was warm with just a cool breeze. It was a great night for a game.

Carol, good luck with the yard sale. I have a real weakness for them. Too bad I'm not there. I'd probably find something to add to one of my piles.

I've been wanting to recover the seat of a rocking chair for about the last 8 years. I even have the fabric I want to use. Maybe I'll get out the staple gun and give it a try one of these days.

Hope the drive in was fun.

Sandi have fun with the Creative Memories stuff. I think scrapbooking is a wonderful hobby. My kids love the albums I've made for them!

I've been tossing and turning for the last hour, so I finally decided to get up.

Dh and I were talking earlier this evening about this one chair that we have that needs recovered. Then I came on here and saw your post about you recovering your chair.
The problem is even with a staple gun in hand, I don't think I'd know how to proceed.

Here's a couple pics of the hardwood floors and new area rugs. I am so glad to see that ugly brown carpeting gone! Next project: Ordering all new windows for the house.

So much for sleeping in this morning.....brrrrrr..it's cold!!!!

Lars, I think the name you're looking for is CORNICE....and those are a cake walk...have some faith girl, you can do that with your eyes closed.

Sandi, there are a bunch of DIY sites that tell you how to reupholster furniture, but basically, if take it all apart, remove the old fabric, replace the stuffing, and staple the new fabric back on....I'm making it sound really simple, I know....but I've seen some of your crafty projects, you can do this!

Fortunately, for this chair, I don't have to replace the stuffing, as I did that when I covered the chair 2 years ago. I also didn't spend a ton on the fabric either becuase it's a chair for the kids playroom.


Guess i better go make the coffee...since noone else is going to......

Morning Everyone!

Brrrrrrrr......cold here today too!

The drive-in was a lot of fun last night. I haven't been there since I was little. Freaky Friday was first - it was a lot funnier than I expected. POTC was second and the one I was looking forward too. About 1/2 hour into it, my DS said he was tired and wanted to go to sleep, and DD felt like she was already falling asleep in my arms. So we had to pack it up and go home. Guess I'll have to wait for the DVD to come out.

Marsha - great pick w/ the capris and new shirt - can't go wrong w/ lime green. the lamps look nice also - wish i had time or energy to be crafty.

Lars&MP - congrats on being proud moms!

Gaspode - nice siggy!

To everyone else doing crafty work, more power to you!

We're off to soccer too, EB's season begins today.

Three cheers and a drum roll to all the band parents and their talented offspring! As a former band member myself I'm hoping my kids will also get to play in a marching band and Matt's drum will certainly aid in that effort. EB is already talking about playing my clarinet next year so keep your fingers crossed.

Marsha's weather got significantly cooler almost over night (happened here too)

LK doesn't know that I am leaving Dec 1st so no countdown needed for stalkers

Marsha did some really cool things to her Moroccan lamp!

Last night was the first football game for David and Merry was going to tape it so he could see himself march.

Steph is planning out the Halloween costumes fo her kids. And is pretty crafty too

Melissa was kind and offered to send out post cards to all that wanted them too.

Sandi ordered tons from a Creative Memories party

Carol is prepping for her own yard sale after all her neighbors did that too.

Lars' football team one and the band did good too!

Kimmar watched the classic Fast Times at Ridgemont High

Gail lost power all afternoon and evening

Merry's team unfortunately was stomped on last night. But the band was awesome!

Sandi has new rugs that look great!!!

Lorraine is cold and the drive in was fun! But she missed PotC I can tell you all about it though, I've seen it more than once now (I think I am up to five)

It's a beautiful day for Sandy and she has a bunch of laundry to get done before the party at noon.

Hi everyone. Just sent my family off to the Scout annual family camp out. I know, I'm part of the family, but someone has to stay behind and care for the zoo. Besides, Mom is going out of town tonight and I'm caring for her cat and dog as well. They'll be home tomorrow with a Meers burger for me. (That's a longhorn burger that they make at a little joint in Meers, Oklahoma). They are GOOD!

I'm planning to put up some auctions on ebay, line a bag for Amy's band stuff, watch a couple of chick flicks, watch the Sooners play Alabama tonight, and maybe paint a cabinet. Don't I sound industrious? Probably won't do half of that stuff.

Good to see you here Dan!! Alan is the only man we have left around here & we need the male point of view!

It sounds like everyone is keeping busy! We are just hanging around home today. Meg wants to make a quick run to the mall but other than that we don't have any weekend plans.....with as busy as we are during the week I'll enjoy just being lazy this weekend!! Dinner is already in the crock pot (btw I LOVE my crock pot) and now I'm just gonna enjoy the beautiful day!

Sandi, the drive in we went to is the Dependable, by the airport. It has cleaned up its act since years ago when they used to show only porn! It has three screens. Very good prices, too - only $5 for adults and $2.50 for kids. There is also a drive in on Kane Road (Beaver County??) and one near Butler.

We got tons of potatoes from our garden this year, so I made some delicious ham and potato soup today. The recipe makes a ton, so I will freeze two big bowls of it and stick those in the crock pot one day. I love my crock pot, too!

Gaspode - love your new signature! BTW, when I was at the grocery store yesterday, I spotted some Ferrero Rocher candy!!!

We are going to my niece's 4th birthday party tonight. Not sure of the theme, but I don't think it will be Bob the Builder!
