I've got good weather predicted!!
Tonight is the first football game that Matt will be marching at & it's supposed to be a high of 73 today & sunny. Tomorrow 78 and sunny, Sunday 80 & sunny. No rain predicted til Tuesday and then only a 30% chance. Of course all of this can change at any given moment...............lol

Laura, good luck to Matt. I guess you will become a football mom by default, like I did. Our first home game isn't until Sept 19. We go to the away games in county, but the first 2 our out of county so the band won't be going.

Tomorrow is the first University of Delaware home football game. The band has a concession stand there so I will be working that with both kids.

Good morning all! :) Kind of a goof off day here for me. I have very little I need to do so depending on how things are I might check in now and then throughout the day.

David got his new jammers for swimming today. He once told me he'd never wear a Speedo type suit, but he seems pleased with this one. I must say it leaves little to your imagination. It fits like a second skin. Now I know why so many girls sign up for the swim team.
LOL :teeth:

Hi Marsha!! Glad to hear that you found the fabric for the duvet cover. Sounds like you are a busy busy lady!!! Have fun watching Ringo Starr and the All Star Band! Shelia E is a great percussionist so that should be cool. I wouldn't have a clue what to wear though. And don't worry, I really am not all that busy. I check in when I can and since I don't watch much TV, the DIS is my "TV time" that others seem to have ;) And my DH was thrilled about the Redskin's team too!!!

Gail, sorry you had trouble sleeping. I like that color!! Oh I forgot to ask, when does the new 'baby' come home?

Steph, I hope you feel better today... I felt like the weather (gloomy & icky) earlier this week so I know that feeling.

Morning Val :) Enjoy the day :sunny:

Lars, how scary about your friend Rhonda! Glad to know she will be okay and hopefully released today.

Sandi, for once we actually weren't hit by something. Yesterday turned out to be beautiful for us!! It's funny because I didn't hear of any outages yesterday in Ohio! Must have been too far away ;)

Gina... we are finally having decent weather... it's about time. I actually saw the SUN and BLUE SKIES yesterday

Carol, I like your idea!! Gail, when are you coming to get us in your shiny new toy?

Off to pretend to work for a while :)

Good morning Angels!

It's a busy day at work, but I have to say that the forecast for the next week calls for highs in the upper 80's, blue skies, and lows in the upper 60's!!!!

YEEEE-HAH!

Morning, Angels.....or is it angles???:p

We are having BEAUTIFUL weather here this week. What I call almost perfect! Lows in the morning are 50-60 and then it gets up to the upper 70's and cools off again at night. Very sunny and clear. The only problem is that it has not rained in a month, so everything is very dry now.

Gina, Matt doesn't want a tutu???:o You know it is NEVER too late to try for a girl!:p

Hope your friend is all right, Lars.

Ah yes, those band activities and band parents activities! I kind of miss that, but I content myself by teaching in the studio. Lots easier than marching around a football field!

Gina,

Tell Matt that being a male cheerleader is a great way to "pick up girls"

Jean Claude Van Damme was a dancer too!

Cute ballerina pictures. Somehow DD never got into that, for which I am thankful. Swimming cost enough buying the racing suits and multiple pairs of googles

Googles???? :p

I like the idea of breaking in the van with an adventure....and I'm sure Lew would love to drive us. Who's DH shall we dump our kids with when we pick them up? If we don't take the kids theres more room for angels!!!

Morning Everyone!:D

Boy everyone is very chatty lately! I've only been off since I left work yesterday, and I had 3 pages to catch up on!

Steph and Gail - what cuties in their outfits! I hope to get my DD into Irish dancing soon - she is only turning 4 and I think you have to be 5 or 6 to start.

Marsha - I'd go for the capris - they are always comfortable. Enjoy the concert!

Gaspode - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Gail - nice van! I am really enjoying mine, and it really came in handy for the Disney trip.

Sandi - I do know where the restaurant is, but never have eaten there. I'm sure they do a wonderful job on weddings.

Wonderful day of weather here today and it looks nice for the weekend too. We have an outside wedding to attend tomorrow, so they really lucked out. I have to go find something at the mall to wear though. I hate picking out wedding clothing. I don't really do dresses, but I might try some on. LK will be watching my kids tomorrow and having them sleep over. This will be the first time my DD stays over, and my DS only slept there when he was very little.

Have a great day everyone!

I vote for that! I was just telling LK that yesterday that it would be fun to take a road trip w/ just the angels!

Quick hello here. I tried a yoga class this morning at 8:30 and I'm getting ready to leave the house soon to try a basic step class at 10:25. Getting my hair cut today at 1. Busy, busy "me" day so far!

Sandi - The Grand Concourse will be a fantastic place for their reception! I've only eaten there once or twice, and it was just delicious.

SB - Shannon slept here last summer, I think. I remember sleeping in a bed with her and Leah because they didn't want to sleep in Leah's room. I kept trying to fall asleep, and Shannon kept calling out in her tiny voice "Aunt Laura...." because she wanted to keep talking!

Gail - nice van! You will enjoy it. We got a new one close to two years ago. The other day when I was driving to work, a piece of plywood flew up off of the road and hit into the front hood. Major scratches there. :(

New vans, new toilets, new houses.... it just doesn't get much better than that!

Gotta run - be back later!

Wow, Yoga and a Step Class? Is that to make up for all the time you have spent eating Bon-Bons and watching Soap Operas all day? :p

Since your kids are doing Kung Fu, have you considered Tai Chi instead of Yoga?

Well, it's not WDW, but my sister and I are planning to go to
this place next summer, if all goes well. Girls only, maybe all my sisters (I have 4) and my mother (she will be 87 this Dec). It looks just perfect for us, they offer a Spa and Shopping package, with Lobster dinner and breakfasts included, and we love that beach. It was always the one we went to when we were kids, my mother would drag us out of the water when we turned blue from the cold. I just want to go and have someone else do it all for me. But I know I will get roped into being the driver. Wonder if I can rent a nice mini van in Maine?

Darn, one vote for capris, and I was hoping to wear my new slinky size 14 dress......for me, that's small!

LK, please, no mention of excersize - remember the motto

When I get the urge to excercize, I lie down till it passes.
Edited to add -

Weather forecast for me -
Friday Saturday Sunday Monday Tuesday
Hi 104 Hi 102 Hi 102 Hi 103 Hi 102
Lo 84 Lo 84 Lo 84 Lo 85 Lo 65

It's slightly cloudy and we may get a thunderstorm tonight, it's still monsoon season, last night it rained 2 inches, but it was 10 miles away from my house. We don't get those huge area storms, just very localized.

Alan, they do teach Tai Chi at the Kung Fu studio, but the Yoga class is part of the "Total Body Conditioning" classes at the municipal center that I signed up for. I've watched some of the Tai Chi classes and they look so relaxing.

Sorry for letting you down Marsha. ;) However, I haven't had any "slinky" clothes for quite a while, so I need to do something!

Elaine, how can we stalk you (er.... I mean join you) on your trip to WDW if you don't have a countdown clock?????

Before and after of the lamps. I bought these as Cost Plus WOrld Market. They came from Moroco, and are made of stretched painted leather over a very strong metal frame.

Before, the holes at the bottom were open, I didn't like seeing the insides of the lamp.

After, I added copper mesh screening to the holes, and the beads. Now the insides are disguised.

Aren't I just toooooo crafty????

You are crafty, Marsha. How cool! I'm still trying to figure out the lamp though. Does it hang from a ring or stand up on legs. I can't tell from the picture. I say go with the slinky dress if you want to!

LK, all your exercising is making me tired. :p Sounds like you are doing enough for all the rest of us.

Sandi, love hearing about the weddng plans. Are you getting excited?

Gina, our weather is lovely, thank you. Sorry yours stinks.

Carol, I have trouble with angles, too. We laugh a lot about that at our house. DD's best friend always writes angle instead of angel. I think I usually catch it.

Lars, maybe I should consider putting in plastic plants? Something in a lime green might be nice! They don't look that great, but neither do the real ones once I start starving them! Hope Rhonda gets to come home. Sounds scary!

Tonight is David's first night to march at a football game. It's our home town rivalry game. We are having a "taste of Norman" dinner where you buy a ticket and all the restaurants have things you can try. The money will be divided between the 2 high schools music departments. And the game will be on tv. How exciting. Guess we should probably tape it so he can see himself march? The weather is going to be perfect. The high today will be sunny and in the 80s the low around 60.

HOwdy Angels.

Marsha...I've been to CLIFF HOUSE twice, and it is absolutely stunning..you'll love it...and being that close to the marginal way will keep your skinny self in shape!

Moroccan love room huh??? I am biting my tongue...lol....cute lamps though....very crafty lady

I've gotta get moving on the halloween costumes for WDW. We have Jessie, and Rex. Meghan and I have had many conversations about this......she definately has some strong opinions...lol
DH wants to be "MR ANGRY EYES (Meg's own words), Patrick is undecided..I suggested Sid, or army man..but he's getting ALOT of pressure from Miss Meghan to be Woody (....but Patrick.....Woody LOVES Jessie...insert pouty face here) and I think I'm going to be Bo-Peep (Bo-sheep according Meg). Regretfully, all the Bo-Peep costumes DH finds are totally inappropriate for WDW ;) fortunately, I'm pretty crafty too, and will be making mine!

If I'm seen back here before I get this darn ad done, kick me outta here...i've got real revenue work to get done today!

Evening/Afternoon All!

Thought I'd pop on to say one or two things...

Marsha - Good to continue 'seeing' you! The lamps look really great, aren't crafts fun? DBF is out tonight... perhaps I should dig something arty out to do?

Steph - You've just reminded me of one of the things I envy all the angels for... I can't DIS at work no matter how bored (or busy ;)) I am!!

Good luck with all those costumes... I bet the pictures will be great, can't wait to see them!

All this talk of angels and angles reminded me of one of the language things which makes me laugh most - spoonerisms! I don't know if they can be typed by mistake but I've sure said a few in my time. I dug out this info about the man who 'founded' the word Reverend William Spooner and I thought it might raise a few laughs...

"Reverend Spooner's tendency to get words and sounds crossed up
could happen at any time, but especially when he was agitated. He
reprimanded one student for "fighting a liar in the quadrangle" and
another who "hissed my mystery lecture." To the latter he added in
disgust, "You have tasted two worms."

"He raised his toast to
Her Highness Victoria: "Three cheers for our queer old dean!"

Have good evenings all, I can't decide what to do with mine as DBF has gone to visit a friends and watch a movie so perhaps I shall sit here and DIS, perhaps I shall be crafty and perhaps I shall go to my parents... hmmm....

Cya,
Gaspode

The joy of working for yourself!! The ad is done, I'm just waiting on any revisions, but I do think it is complete now.....

Spoonerisms..hmmm I thought we called those parasisms....see Gail's tag!!!!

I have read several stories concerning Rev. Spooner.

One of my favorite Spoonerisms came from a professor at my small Christian college.

He was discussing Dicken's work "A Tale of Two Cities"

What he came out with was a bit of a Freudian slip! :p
