We are trying to conceive and have the potential to be 7-7.5 months pregnant (if we are successful next month). Do you think I will be okay flying and walking around? I'm worried slightly but the chances of conceiving aren't super high next month anyhow right ;) What would you do? We're planning on our trip September 16-25 or I can move it a week up to Sept 9. I just feel the crowds will be heavier from Labor Day. Ack! Advice?
The thing is, since we are DVC we go at least once a year and I don't feel the need to commando at the parks, kwim???
:wave2:

I did the "world" at about 8 months preggo. It was fine except that I was a little bored since there weren't very many rides I could go on, at least in Epcot (that's the only park we did). I felt huge, but at least it was in December, so it wasn't boiling hot! And we drove, so I didn't have to worry about flying. I say, if it's between going and not going-- go! There is still so much to do -- and eat :rotfl: - that you'll still have a great time!

Good luck!

I know how you feel... I've been TTC for a year and started planning our Disney trip around a potential pregnancy. Its nerve-racking!

I'm going to say make it earlier if you can, you never know what'll happen. I ended up on bedrest at 19 weeks last time!

Best of luck to you!!

I say make it earlier if you can. I have had 2 perfectly healthy pregnancies resulting in 2 perfectly healthy babies, but I've delivered at 7.5 to 8 months each time. I just don't carry babies to the 9 month mark. Now, for every story like mine you'll hear a 100 where people went to term and would have had no trouble traveling late in pregnancy, but you just don't know until you've done it. And be careful saying that's it's not too likely to conceive in the first month. DS#1 was conceived in the first month and with DS#2 we were actually trying to NOT be pregnant....oops! ;)

I went last year at 2 months pregnant but around the same time of September. There is no way I would do that time of the year at 7 months, and 7 months was the best point of my pregnancy. Still too warm, too much walking and uncomfortable. Totally fine flying at that point though (taking it slow in the airports). Each pregnancy is different for each person. Good luck!

The latest I've gone was 22 or so weeks, but I'm thinking of this very situation with our 3rd baby. I'm not yet pregnant (and won't start trying til March), but we have a trip planned for early November and I'm wondering if I should delay TTC another month to be safe.

Like a poster above, my kids were early-1st was just under 38 weeks and 2nd was 36 weeks. So my fear is that going at 32-34 weeks would be really risky. It's a lot of walking, commando or not, so it might be more taxing on the body than you (or I) would think.

FWIW, my SIL is pregnant with her 3rd and both of her kids were term deliveries (41 weeks 1st time, induction at 38 weeks with the 2nd) and her OB told her not to leave the area past 28 weeks. She didn't have any preterm issues with the other 2, but he just doesn't think it's wise to be far from home at that point.

And I will also add that with my 1st I had terrible swelling that started around 18 weeks. We went to WDW in October around 19 or 20 weeks and it was exhausting and uncomfortable. The heat seemed to make me swell more and I spent a lot of time with my arms and legs elevated, a lot of time resting or sleeping. Now, that wasn't a problem for us in terms of touring as we go often as well, but it was somewhat a problem for me as it was sort of annoying to have to take a lot of breaks and not really be comfortable resting on a hard bench.

One last thing, neither of my kids were planned pregnancies, so don't count on it not working out the 1st time around!! Of course, I'm right there with you, worrying about how long it will take to conceive cause this 3rd one we are actually planning, but based on not just my experience but that of friends as well, there's a good chance the first month will be it!
