Disney and Big Bang Theory

Has anyone else noticed that there are tons of references to Disney stuff on The Big Bang Theory? What's the connection there? It seems like it's too often for it to be a coincidence.

Unless I'm just too obsessed with Disney and I watch WAY too much BBT?

I am a huge fan of both but can honestly say I haven't caught many Disney references. Guess I am slow...

Huh...I watch it regularly (reruns and new episodes) and I never noticed really any references to Disney and certainly nothing I would term as "tons"

Can you give some examples..maybe some of us just haven't caught on.

I haven't noticed anything either but whatever there are have to be coincidental yeah, it's a CBS show. Network isn't in the business of promoting other networks.

I watch Bang way too much (usually 3 times daily and all marathons) and have never caught a Disney reference.

Oh yeah - I have noticed several references to Disney on the show over the years. In fact, there were 3 during last week's episode alone. My husband and I commented to each other about them as we watched. He even paused it at the end of the credits to see if the text blip that guy writes said something about it, but it didn't.

Maybe I'm just nuts! But I think they mention DLR a lot, earlier it was mentioned and Howard said that you could rent Snow White. One episode Penny took Sheldon to DL for the day. She also thought that Leonard might take her there for a surprise, she also guessed WDW. I've also heard them talk about Space Mountain & Country Bear Jamboree, and Sheldon has said bibbidi bobbidi boo.

So what do I need to lay off of, BBT or the Dis?

Love this show! And we were just saying tonight how many Disney mentions there are! Caught Bibbidi bobbidi boo tonight also.

I know there are other things that are referred to a lot on there, too, like certain video games or websites or comic books or games or other geeky things that I am not familiar with and that aren't particularly relevant to me. But they kind of go in one ear and out the other for me.

But Disney just happens to be a semi-geeky thing that is VERY relevant to me, so it seems to be referenced frequently . Star Wars and Star Trek are other somewhat geeky things that they refer to A LOT that are relevant to me, so I notice them, too. Disney is probably not referenced much more than some of the other things I mentioned above, but it just jumps out at people like us .

They've referenced Toy Story before, and the scene where Penny and Sheldon come back from Disneyland is one of my absolute favorites of the series (though did anyone else notice the Mickey ears are wrong? Drives me NUTS!). I love Big Bang and it makes me so happy when they make Disney references.

DH and I noticed it too a while back. Last weeks reference that particularly stood out was a comment about Epcot. LOL

I suspect it may be because they *live* near Disneyland that we hear so many references to Disney, even if sometimes it's Disneyworld.

We loved the goofy Goofy nightmare Sheldon had.

I agree...I think some of it is because they "live" in Pasadena. I seem to notice more Star Trek than anything else; also some Star Wars, lots of comic book heroes, THE FLASH is a favorite of theirs too (when Sheldon knocks on Penny's door 30,000 times....Penny Penny Penny Penny Penny Penny Penny...)

I've heard them reference Disney a few times. I always thought they were talking about Disneyland since they live/work close to DL. And, of course, Penny took Sheldon to DL!

It is my favorite show!

We love BBT, and yes, we love all the Disney references. Those guys are hilarious. My son does a great impersonation of Sheldon -- and we call him Shelly Bean a lot.
