Disney alone, love it or hate it?

It's possible you would have felt that way.

But I felt, when I had those feelings, not just sad, but also happy. I was happy to be experiencing it, and I did *different* things than what we do. I saw "it's tough to be a bug", to preview it for DS. By doing that, I know we don't have to take the time to see it with him for a LONG time, and didn't waste any family trip time in doing it.

I find little things that I can tell them about, and then it enhances the family visits.

When I see kids having fun, I get sad, but know that DS and DH are at home having fun dad/son time. When I see kids tantruming, I think "I'm glad that's not me having to deal with it" AND "aw now see that's not so bad, I'll try to deal with tantrums at the parks better next family trip". :)

I wouldn't go to WDW or DLR with only my husband, but I will go solo. Then again, utter lack of competent grandparents kind of negates even the possibility of a trip like that happening!

Thats the thing. My daughters are 7 and tall for their age. They can do anything at the park that I want to do. The only thing they cant do is ride the ride in CA that shoots you up real fast....the blaster or something like that. But we have one of those in our local park that they can do and it is just as much fun as the CA one.

And really, they hardly ever throw tantrums. I have been blessed this way. When we are at DL they are just like me....soaking it up, having a blast. lol they dont even cry when we tell them no about things they want to buy.:wizard:

I'm not gonna lie, I am playing single mom right now while my husband is overseas, and I am excited if I get to go to the grocery store alone. If I had the chance to go to Disney by myself, I would probably stroke out from the excitement and anticipation before I ever got on the plane. But if I made it, I would surely enjoy it. No doubt.

I know I am in the minority but I hated it!!! Having been to Disneyland hundreds of times, I thought it would be fun and boy was I wrong. For me, Disney is meant to be shared with my loved ones. :goodvibes

I've never been to DLR alone - but I would LOVE to try the Girl's Only trip sometime. I've been twice with just DH and it was a BLAST! We had so much fun together and it was great to not have to consider which one of us had to go with the kids on the spinny rides!

We rode what we wanted and stopped when we wanted and shopped when we wanted, we took bathroom sign pictures and pictures of food. :rolleyes1 DH thought I was a little crazy at first since he's the one usually carrying the camera - but he joined in the fun of picture taking. I would definitely go again with DH, especially since we have grandparents that are close by and are really great to our kids.

I've talked about going to DLR without DH, but I think he would pout for a long time since he loves DLR as much as I do! :lovestruc

I love being in Disneyland alone. I did it for about 3 days and had a blast. Met some really nice people who were so friendly and had great conversations with them. I got to ride all of the rides that I wanted to and eat where I wanted to as well. Like a few other people have said, dinner was a little lonely but I didn't try the "grab food and keep wandering around" scenario so I would imagine that would make things better. It was much easier to get through lines and crowds of people and during the fireworks, people are nicer about letting one person squeeze in on a bench rather than a whole group of people. So my advice would be to go and have a great time!
