Disney After Hours for 2018?

I must really enjoy giving Disney my money because I just bought DAH tix for our family of four in January!

Last January we were able to get in at 4:00. We were also able to get 3 fastpasses for between 4:00 and close (I think it was 8:00 the night we went). Last I heard, you aren't able to get fastpasses for the parties this year (which is a change from previous years) so maybe we won't be able to get them for DAH this year.
I'll be watching the first 2018 DAH reports to be sure we can actually get in at 4 pm. I'd hate to show up that early with my family and be turned away!

How do you get fps without a regular park ticket? Do you have to go to a kiosk or can it be done on the app?

Now I'm going to be obsessively checking MDE to see if I can trade my 8:25 Ohana reservation for an earlier one. :magnify:

Jan, Feb, and Mar only in 2017. Sorry... this event is only during the low times. In part because of the earlier closing times for the low season.

This was a great event in 2017. I'm kind of surprised to see all you can eat/drink back, since I see people with garbage bags full of bottled water. Sigh... anyhow, I am considering a weekend trip in January now... my wife is going to kill me. But this event is just that awesome!

That's too bad. I would have loved this. Your wife won't kill you...she will be thrilled.

I think that poster was confusing this with a MNSSHP or MVMCP ticket. DAH is definitely a 7:00 pm entry; not a 4:00, and with all the problems with party tickets and FP+ this year, I wouldn't expect to be able to use this ticket for FP+ at all.

We went to the event on March 9th. We did not do any of the treats as the lines for those remained long. However did have a great evening.

Yay! I was following this thread hoping that it would be offered next year. I just purchased our tickets for January 19, 2018. We did this on January 27, 2017, and it was the highlight of our trip. It's just DS and I and we each pay our own trip expenses, so it's much more affordable than trying to pay for a family.

When we did it in January the hours were 9:00-midnight and time just flew by. Here's what we did:

9:00-10:00pm
Mad Tea Party
Winnie the Pooh
Ate a Mickey Bar
Peter Pan
Haunted Mansion
Ate an ice cream sandwich

10:00-11:00pm
Big Thunder Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain
Ate popcorn
Magic Carpets of Aladdin
Ate ice cream sandwich
7 Dwarfs Mine Train
7 Dwarfs Mine Train

11:00pm-12:00am
7 Dwarfs Mine Train
Ate fruit bar (couldn't handle another ice cream)
Walked around a deserted New Fantasyland taking pictures
Peter Pan
Peter Pan
Took pictures of the castle

We skipped Tomorrowland on purpose since we're not big fans of the WDW versions of both Space Mountain and Buzz. And we skipped Jungle Cruise because we felt it would eat up too much valuable time and Splash Mountain because it was chilly out. The only line we encountered was our first Peter Pan ride. We entered just after a large group went in. But it still went very quickly. Everything else was basically a walk on. No one was waiting for Big Thunder so we stayed on for a second ride.

I'm so happy it's being offered again. This year we have an AP discount, but I would willingly pay full price.

We went May 2016 and then last February 2017. We have AP's that expire for one last trip in November. Now contemplating renewing AP's and making a short weekend January trip. Above indications are right. It is just that awesome. Surprisingly enough just asked DH and his response was "why not do it why kids are young and fun." Well why not because of money...but still I am tempted and not going to lie have been making some ADR's off and on today.

Sorry, but that is not correct. For 2017, you could enter at 4pm with a DAH ticket. And for 2017 you could get fast passes (before 7pm) -- this point I would not count on for 2018.

I went on 3/2/2017 and checked in at 4pm. They had the lanyards ready at that time. If you don't believe me, here is the thread from 2017, there is significant discussion of getting in at 4pm: https://www.disboards.com/threads/magic-kingdom-after-hours-coming-back-dah-reviews-page-18.3564675/

Does anyone think this will book quickly?
Last year they had a hard time selling these tickets and ended up discounting the prices for many of the nights, so, no. I doubt they will book quickly.

This was the single best hard ticket/ add on we have ever done at Disney, hands down.
Then you must have missed out on E Ride Nights (which ended in 2004). Basically the same idea.....only it cost $12.

Yes! We went the first Thursday of February 2017. I think it was the 2nd? Got in at 4 and was able to book fast passes in advance on the app. Sounds like we won't be able to do that this time but hopefully can still get in at 4!

Yes, we missed this, first trip was in '08.

We went in March and loved it. Just booked again for January. We have annual passes and can get a room on DVC points, so why not?

Would doing this and a fireworks dessert party in the same night be overkill? It will be on the last night of our trip. To me it sounds like the perfect way to end a trip, but maybe there is something I am overlooking?

ETA: Am I correct that this cannot be canceled after booking it?

I would also like to know if anyone is aware if this can be canceled once purchased. On a similar note, if I buy it for full price now, but get an AP before our trip, will Disney refund the difference?

The First year this was offered I did just that dessert party and DAH and it was great. and it was on my birthday.

We have reservations for the HEA dessert party on February 8/18 and we'd also like to attend the After Hours event too. I'm a bit confused with the hours for that though. The DW website shows the After Hours event as 8-11pm and HEA at 8pm. Do they usually overlap like that or could that be an error?

I think they do this so that they can clear the park since most people watch the fire works from in front of the castle, they can not let you into the back of the park once it closes, so the park gets clear faster.

If event guests can enter the park at 7pm, and the dessert party starts at 6:45, will entering the park take so long that it really cuts into time at the dessert party?
