Disney After Hours for 2018?

We have reservations for the HEA dessert party on February 8/18 and we'd also like to attend the After Hours event too. I'm a bit confused with the hours for that though. The DW website shows the After Hours event as 8-11pm and HEA at 8pm. Do they usually overlap like that or could that be an error?

Yes, that's the way it works. Once HEA is over, regular park guests get out, DAH guests stay and have fun!

I have an AP so I do not know when you can enter with the ticket. but I watched the fire works both times I did this and by the time I got to my first ride the line was very short. I am glad I did both.

If you have a park ticket or AP and are there earlier, when/where do you get whatever it is that shows you are a party-goer?

Jan, Feb, and Mar only in 2017. Sorry... this event is only during the low times. In part because of the earlier closing times for the low season.

This was a great event in 2017. I'm kind of surprised to see all you can eat/drink back, since I see people with garbage bags full of bottled water. Sigh... anyhow, I am considering a weekend trip in January now... my wife is going to kill me. But this event is just that awesome!

Between this and EMM that I think I've seen you post about, you and me are keeping these upcharge events going! :-) (I kid, I kid)

I also saw some pretty egregious abuses of the all you can eat/drink during our DAH last year as well.

And I don't care what my DW says... we'll make it a point to get down there for this year too! :rolleyes1

I forgot where I got mine I think it was the front of the park. they gave you a layer to wear with a big plastic card on it.

Does the park clear out quite quickly? I'm used to the MVMCP where we have a bit more time in the park- I'd love to have as many minutes in an empty park as I possibly can!

*Edit- I really should go read last year's thread.

Yeah, we definitely seem to like the same uncharge events. And CL resorts. :-)

This is a new level for me... we've always taken advantage of uncharge events that fit already-planned vacations. But I liked DAH enough to schedule a trip around it... And since it's a trip built around DAH, CR CL is the only resort choice (I know you will agree with that, haha). If my wife doesn't want to make it a family vacation, there is always my brother... either way, I'm going on Jan 19. I already asked how many nights would be the maximum, you know, because I need to justify the airfare. Maybe 3-4 nights, haha...

They let people in the queues at park close ride, so it takes an hour or so before most all the non-DAH guests are gone. Even then, when I went (3/2/17) it wasn't as empty as some of the pictures posted in the 2017 thread (mostly from January, I think), so the park didn't really ever seem empty. But all the rides were still walk on. But it was about an hour into the party before 7DMT was truly walk on with no wait at all.

One of the best things about 7DMT is that once it clears out they open the shortcut so you don't have to walk the entire queue. You get off, and hop right back on.

yes the park does ( or should I say the lines do) clear out fast, ( I think this is why they start the fire works at parks closing on these nights, you do want to see them from in front of the castle and once in front of said castle and park is closed you can not get behind castle. If there is a line like 7DMT they let you in the FP line until the norm line is clear.

I am really debating on going to this for a 3 time but I would either have to cancel my contemporary new years even trip on not go to Toy Story Land opening.....

Has anyone with an AP bought tickets yet? Wondering if there is an AP discount this year. Thanks!

The recently announced dates in February for Disney After Dark fall during my trip to WDW Feburary 4th- 11th, so the 8th falls on my trip. My current plans have me at Hollywood studios and dinner back at the Polynesian at Ohana on that day. I already have two and 1/2 days planned for Magic Kingdom, so would the $119 and changing my evening schedule worth it?

I have not bought them (yet), but they are discounted again. $89.

Thanks! I'm gonna try & convince DH to go, that will help. We are already going in mid December, but I am looking at last week in January for best airfare & hotel rates.

The park closes at 8 on all the dates and the after hours ends 3 hours later... doesnt seem like much time. When i heard about it i thought it went till 2 or 3am. I want to go to one but I would want more then 3 hours after the park closes :(

Didn't they always end 3 hours later? It just went until 2 or 3am because they ran it during the summer months and those dates have later hours.

January 26th will be the last day of our trip (we were planning on being at MK that day). DAH would be an amazing way to end our trip!! :flower:

The First year this was offered I did just that dessert party and DAH and it was great. and it was on my birthday.

Is there any disadvantage to starting the event with the dessert party/HEA? We're big ride fans and love to loop our favourites. I'm just wondering if I should try to change my reservation.

We had a great time doing this in February this year, in fact this was the only Disney park we visited as we where only over for a week. We entered the park at 5pm, they were set up to accept DAH guests. The only downside on our night was BTMR was closed but everything else was open and walk on. Best 6 hours ever in a Disney park
