Disney ABC Swap Sign-ups *closed but in progress*

I have never been able to successfully print on vellum either.

3. I'm having a hard time printing onto Vellum - the ink keeps smearing...any hints on how to stop it?

I print it at night and leave it alone till the next day...

And...

:welcome:

Swapping here is so much FUN! And EVERYONE is so nice! So welcome to the addiction! :teeth:

Thanks so much everyone for the hints! And the welcome!
I managed to get it to print by setting it to draft - looks alot better! Problem was not after the printing getting smeared but the during process as the printer shoots the paper through so fast that it would smear - but now all is good.

is the link to what I've done so far. I'm not sure I like the squares as I did those with a different title which was more colorful but then I didn't like the title as I did it with stickers and it didn't look as good as the fonts printed on the vellum. Would appreciate feedback (no flames please for this newbie!) if these are not "to code" or how I could improve them. I'm trying to figure out a paper piecing instead of the squares but I'm not sure I can figure it out! We'll see what I can manage between my kids' naps! Need ideas! Think think think!

I think they're lovely! I especially love the tags!

LOVE IT!! Too Cute...I love the tags too, and the title!

It is sooooo cute. I am glad to have a spot in this so I get a set. Yeah me.

happypooh---WELCOME!!! And I LOVE your stuff! The title, the tags. . .everything! I think the squares look great, too!!

I know what I'm going to do for this one, and I've ordered my supplies. I just want them to get here so I can do it! :)

I got the extra paper I needed yesterday so it's on to get these finished this weekend.

I've started printing the words but I'm waiting on a ton of Bazzill (I shouldn't be allowed near a PC after :drinking: as I've ordered 3 packs of Bazzill bling  ) I keep telling myself it was a bargain as a UK online store wanted £1.50 ($3) for 3 sheets, as opposed to $8 (£4) for 15 sheets from the US - even with postage its still a lot cheaper. I also keep telling myself there's no need to sign up to another dozen swaps to use it up - it won't go off and my DS albums are still stuck on 2001 :rotfl:

ETA this is SO time consuming! I've spent all afternoon (at least 3 1/2 hours) just on one letter, and its not finished yet :eeek: Once I've done that I'm going back to my scrapbooks until me supplies come!

Thanks so much! If everyone is ok with the squares I'll leave them be, unless I figure out the paper piecing. I am so tempted to go to the Megameet that is happening in our town this week...oh to get one of those crop-a-dile things...anyone have one?? And guess what??? My DH surprised me so much by booking tickets to the World at the end of the month!!! Yeah! We're off to the world!!!!

I love my crop-a-dile

Me too!!! I have to say when I'm doing a swap and might have to set 60 eyelets at one time my hand gets tired, but no banging, no problems. I just used it for some snaps the other day. I've always shied away from them but no more, the crop-a-dial worked great!!

I LOVE my cropadile. I have carpal tunnel syndrome, and its great to have something that doesn't have any impact :goodvibes (although if I'm going through a very bad patch I do have to use two hands). And its brilliant for swaps, and for getting things evenly lined up. Before I had it I either crumpled up my cardstock trying to get the brads through, or else used a big needle and a rubber - place the card stock on the rubber and make a hole with the needle :rotfl2:

Help! I am having some difficulties. Under the Sea is a very long song! So I think I am scrapping that idea and swapping to Library Pockets for U. My pattern paper I bought didn't match the Bazill card stock I ordered. The Bazill blues had too much green in them. Now I need just two more sheets of one color to make 13 library pockets. Can you sweet ladies answer a question or two? Do all of our elements have to be exactly the same?

How do you stick the vellum to the card stock? I printed my lyrics for When You Wish Upon a Star out on the vellum and it worked great with the laser printer.

Can I use a non Bazill Tag to go in my library pockets? Or can I mat the white tag with Bazill?

Thanks for your help!

We're not going to see all the sets together so I don't think anyone is going to say "how come her topper is matted with blue when mine is green?" ;) I think as long as everything works as a page set no-one minds if you have to stretch your supplies, especially when you've got to make 13 like this one! Anyway I hope no-one minds because I ended up having to use two slightly different shades of pistachio for my icecream tag diecut :rotfl:

I use CM frosted splits to adhere my vellum - make sure your fingers are not at all sticky, damp or greasy or the printing may smudge when you smooth the vellum down. I think Glue Dots also do a version especially for vellum. Or use a brad or eyelet. I always put my split under a densly-printed bit and smooth it well down (especially on textured cardstock).

Speaking for myself I'm cool with a plain white tag inside a Bazzill pocket. I need to find a source of packs of white/light/neutral cardstock for this sort of thing - I bought some a long time ago and I can't remember which online store I got it from :rotfl2:

Thank you for your help Mazda UK. I think I am going to use brads to attach the vellum to the cardstock.

I got some of the color box chalk Cats Eyes. I love them!! I hope you get some soon. I think it was you who was asking about the chalks.

Anyways they make the white tags look really pretty. I also got some fibers to add to the tags. I think it would be easier to journal on a white tag than on the textured card stock.

I better get back to scrapping!

Yeah!! Progress. I have finished letter B. I am waiting on a package for E.
