Disney (9/22 - 9/29/09) Pre-trip Report..the Planning of a Surprise Trip

Hey Tessa!
Your plan for you surprise sounds great...we are surprising our kids too!! I can't wait to see how your turns out!! I have begun making list for myself as well. My trip is a little more than a month away...it will be here before I know it!!:banana:

Two Months to go!!! Woo Hoo!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Kudos for keeping the secret... Our trip was going to be a surprise but we thought about it, and our kids are not the surprise type, they like to be involved... That and their mother can't keep her mouth shut... :rolleyes1

Plans look great... You totally need the buttons like Terry and I made!! They were pretty easy to do...

We are down to 55 days!!! :dance3:

I am having a hard time keepin my mouth shut too! who knows maybe when we reveal the surprise they will tell me that they already knew. :rotfl2: I completely agree I need those buttons! I will check out the craft store for some button making stuff. Or I can see about ordering them online from somewhere. 55 days! How exciting! I can't wait to get my package in the mail from Disney and the ME in a week or so! Then IT WlLL BE MORE REAL.

We got the buttons set at Wal-mart in the craft section where all the kid craft stuff is, they were less then a dollar a piece... Then Terry just made the Mickeyhead for the right size and printed.... Super easy!

I am so excited about ME tags!!! That is when i know everything is real... If that makes sense... It's almost like Disney is validating that we are coming... I am weird, I know...

I just followed your link over from your post in my PTR. :goodvibes

Great report so far! Your kids are so cute! It's amazing that you are surprising them - they are going to love it!

Your binder is amazing! What a thoughtful keepsake for your whole family. You are really creative. :thumbsup2

ASMo sounds so fun! I can't wait to see all your resort pictures when you get back. That is definitely a resort I want to try in the future.

Can't wait for more. :cutie:

Thanks for following the link here, I am not as creative as I would like to be, but I try LOL! I think the kids will love the ASMo resort too the DH and I would like to go back to POR but for the time being it all about the kids.

I can't wait to get there to take the pictures. :lmao:

Connor my middle baby, has an expressive language disorder. We thought it was Apraxia but after several speech Therapist no one will diagnose him... when pressure as to why it turns out that Apraxia is being questioned. They are now teaching that it isn't a disorder that is as what it is being diagnosed as... heres the funny part, they say that Connor has a phonological disorder - Well I challange you to open up a new tab and google phonological disorder and see if you don't get many websites that say they are one in the same.. GRRR

Anyway today I get an email and it is an article about expressive language delays/disorders and the connections to food allergies and malabsorbtion. (FYI - Connor is very allergic to peanuts, and tree nuts and recently his Allergy tests came back showing a slight milk allergy also he is undergoing testing to see if he has crohn's or Inflamatory bowel disease or Celiac) If there is anytime I would like a direct line to the pediatrician it is now. I would like to show him the article and hear his opinion and then ask how I get ahold of the people who wrote the article and ask them some questions.

oh well I guess it is another thing that we probably will never know about. back to disney stuff. thanks for letting me blow off some steam.

With the ticker winding down I am getting a little nervous and excited. I can't wait for the vacation but it seem that I have a ton of stuff to do. We got the Silk Soy milk packages and some cereal mini boxes from the store. I think we have come to the understanding that it is cheaper to ship stuff down than it is to buy it and have it delivered. I did an estimated cost for shipping and ground shipping for a 30 pound box is about 20 dollars which is more than the delivery charge but thecost to buy the stuff here will be cheaper so it is really a wash.

I need to go back to sam's and get some Pretzels and snacks. I don't know what we are doing about water yet. Anyone know if we can walk to the Hess's gas station and buy water? I don't have a Costco or BJ's membership for them to deliver water to the resort or else I would do that. Oh well we will figure that out sooner or later.

We found some clip on fans at Gander Mountain that will go on the double stroller to help keep the kids cool. Speaking of the Weather.... I am addicted to the Weather Channel and I think it will be just my luck, since they haven't had a named storm yet, that they will all happen in the Month of Sept. But Hopefully not :wizard:

I have yet to order my Teva flip flops I put them in the shopping cart and then get nervous about the size or the color and end up closing out of the site and not buying them. I am ridiculous. :)

On the home front, we got a notice from the Speech Therapist that Connor's claim for more therapy sessions has been denied. GRRRRR!!! Corinne just started Cheerleading and has practice 3 days a week. Dennis is soon changing schedules at work, and William got his hair cut from me, and I hate it, it doesn't look like a baby hair anymore... I want my baby back! And Me well I seemed to have picked up a bug somewhere and now I have a sinus infection and cold.

I will post some pictures from our 2007 trip next.

Where did all the readers go? Anyone there??? Hello?? LOL :rotfl2:

Bye Bye Disney! :sad1:

Hey, you don't have to have a Costco membership to buy water online... I think they charge a small handling fee or somthing like that, but I really do not think it is very much at all...

We do have a Costco membership so I am ordering 2 cases the week before we leave... So much cheaper!!!

Joining in. Love the report so far. I love your plan for the big surprise. I also love your scrapbook/binder. I have not had the time to put one together but seeing yours has given me the motivation. I work full time as an office manager/ medical assistant at a pediatricians office and with 2 young boys I dont get alot of planning time. I have consumed my time reading everyone elses PTR's and TR's and have realized our trip is getting close. I have off from work next week and have vowed to make a binder and organize everything.:cool1: We are staying at the all star sports 9/20-9/26. I look forward to reading more about your trip.

:welcome: Oh I feel your pain about having 2 small boys... they should come with warning labels not instruction manuals!! LOL

Good luck with the binder, post pictures when your done I'd love to see it.

ITA on the 2 small boys. I LMAO at eating out of the sugar bag. My middle son does that with sugar, salt and coffee. And then he plays with it like sand.

Oh, I followed you here from another PTR!

I have issues... I need to get a pair of flip flops because I have one pair that I wear everyday and all day... But I just know that if I don't bring a backup pair then mine will break on the first day. So these are the ones that I am looking at

I keep putting them in my shopping cart then closing out because I can't pull the trigger and just buy them.

I need to start stepping up the whole get fit for the vacation thing. I need to stop eating and start working out. I need to lose my belly fat everything else I am okay with. I can still call it baby weight even though my baby is almost 20 months, right?

I have been reading PTR's and Tips for the world... and I have found many wonderful tips.. (Sorry if I don't give credit where it is due, but I am terrible with names)

1. Water from costco... Oregonmommyof2 (thanks)
2. Packing daily outfits in gallon bags to include underwear and socks one per day... Walt Disney World tips thread.
3. The power point presentation to reveal the surprise... Superthanks!!! I am so going to try this!!
4. Bring an autograph book... this tip came from everywhere.
5. Bring your own glow sticks...
6. Go slow and enjoy everything... take time to relax.
7. Matching shirts... Many different threads
8. The Lime Green mickey head button... (Oregonmommyof2) Although haven't done them yet.
9. Epcot passport... Disign board ( I still need to do these for the kids once I figure out how)
10. Over the door shoe organizer
11. Cheap tooth brush holder
12. Ice water in the park...

Well I could go on but I won't because I am too excited to go and try out the whole powerpoint thing..
