Disney 5X reward program, different this time-UPDATED

I got the 5X reward postcard in the mail for the Disney Visa, but I don't see anywhere on my card that it states anything at all about dining, gas, groceries or airlines. I have seen this very clearly on all the previous ones that I have gotten, but not this one. Anyone else?

Same here, sort of.
I got one for my disney visa that stated on eligible categories of dining gas groceries or airline purchases.

But DH got one for his account that didn't list any categories, it just says for every eligible dollar above XX amount each month.

Ya, thats what mine said. No certain category. Boy I can really rack up if this is really the case. I am going to have to call. Man I could really use some of these extra reward dollars come December!!!!!!!!

I didn't get one either. Hopefully it's on the way! I was going to put the balance of our January trip on there very soon to make sure the points hit before I cash in my rewards card.

When these were offered to some in the Spring, I got one that was for $25 bonus dollars if you paid "telecommunication" bills with your card for 2 months! We moved our cell phone payment to the card and got the $25, but I would have really liked the 5X rewards! I actually called the comapny in the Spring and asked if everyone got the same promotion and was told they vary depending on card usage. This is basically the only card we use and we already get pretty sizeable rewards so if they are using it to stimulate use, we are already there!

Oh well...any "free" dollars are good!

Shoot! I haven't gotten a new offer yet. And I doubt Chase will offer me one of the ones without specified categories this time even if they do send me an offer. I'm remodeling my kitchen and in the past month I've put over $4K in cabinets, $2K in wood flooring, and about $1500 in granite countertops on my card. (Of course, I've got the money in the bank to pay it all off. No way are they going to get any finance charges from me. ) They'd be crazy to send me one of those offers. I had one of the unspecified category offers in early 2008. I put a dishwasher and the majority of a 7 night/8 day Disney trip on it and racked up some serious bonus points.

We don't get them either, but I think it is because we already use our card for all that stuff. Except flights. We hardly ever fly anywhere, other than WDW, which we only go to every 4 years or so. lol

I put an average of three grand a month on ours, no joke. Always pay it off and we got not one but two of these. I will call them tonight and ask more details and I will report back.

The fine print says "one consumer account per household is eligible". We each have an account of our own but only DH's card got the offer. My account hasn't had a bonus postcard since January.

BTW, his postcard has no categories this time either but the hurdle is $750 each month before the 5X kicks in. And the 5X rewards max out at 200 bonus dollars total for the 3-month period.

The 5X offer is nice but it really takes a lot of CC charges to boost your totals. In the 2 offers that we've completed for this year, we only reached 79 bonus dollars in the first quarter and 60 in the second quarter. The maximum both times was 100 bonus dollars. And that was with airline tickets, gas for 4 cars and all my groceries on it! I'm not complaining because it's still free money. I just want to point out that it takes a lot of spending to reach that maximum level of bonus rewards dollars.

UPDATED- I just called and they told me after I spend 750 each month, anything after that amount I will get 5% Disney reward dollars!!!!Wow. But the most I can get "extra" will be $200, buts that still OK. Well I got two of these postcards, for me and one for my husband. It does state only one card per household, but I wonder if they will really know?

Do you know if you have to receive the mailing to get this? I have had the card from the beginning and never have received these offers. Wondered if I called would they give it to me?

I think it is totally random. But me and my husband got one for each of our accounts, exact same one. I know I could max out each offer in three months. But I don't know if they would let me.

Mine came last week
