DISmeet at D23 Expo! - Meet dates in 1st Post

Not sure I'll go, but I hope you guys organize some teams that are really competitive for a scavenger hunt.

Maybe a team that plays fair, and another that plays dirty to compete with any cheaters from last summer who decided to repeat their preformance.

There's not going to be a scavenger hunt at the Expo. They're doing a trivia challenge instead.

If you're interested in a DISmeet at the Expo, this is the place to keep in touch! Once they release the schedule we'll find a time that won't interfere with Expo events to get together and meet up! Since the Convention Center is such a busy place, let's plan on meeting in the food court at the Hilton (just next door to the Convention Center). Join in here to see how this meet develops and we can get together with fellow DISers!

I was kind of hoping you were going to keep track of everyone in the OP of this thread sort of like how some of the monthly threads work. Are you up for that?

Sure! Great idea! I'll go back through the thread and pull together the pertinent information that's been posted thus far and update the first post. Then I'll let everyone know I've updated it!

I’m posting a list of everyone who has responded to this thread, and will add the newcomers as they join in. If you haven’t already indicated in your post please list your travel dates and we’ll organize one or more meets. I think we should all meet up on Thursday night with our friends that have the Sorcerer’s package so that they can tell us all about their show floor preview.

I was able to buy a D23 Expo ticket today!!! You see I was having problems with my membership number. My DH gave me a D23 membership for Christmas. I had problems when purchasing a D23 Expo ticket because the membership number had his name on-line, but the physical card had my name. I e-mailed the Disney Store a few times, but nothing changed. I periodically try to buy a ticket just in case it was fixed, then send them another e-mail cuz it wasn't fixed. I tried this weekend, and it still is in my DH's name. I sent them yet another e-mail about how I won't be able to go to the Mixer in March and the D23 Expo because my DH's name was attached to my number on-line. I didn't get an e-mail today, but I thought I would try to buy the expo ticket, so I can e-mail them again if nothing had changed. When I entered my DH's name, it didn't work!! So I tried my name and it worked!! Now I will have to send them an e-mail thanking them for this wonderful surprise.

Alison, I will be staying at Anaheim Marriott, August 19 to the 20th. I wanted to arrive on the 18th, but there were no room availability at the Marriott.

Mortimer Mouse, will you be attending? If so did you want to share your dates and hotel? Everyone else is up to date as to who is attending.

Once we have a schedule we can see about potential times. I'm thinking though that Thursday evening would be fun, especially if anyone with the Sorcerer's package wants to join us and share the details of their walk through of the show floor!

I may seem MIA becuase we're planning for the Destination-D event in Florida next month, and another non-WDW vacation in a week, but anyone posting here, I will update their information as soon as I get the post!

Franandaj, I will be attending the expo, i live 45 minutes away and may be driving a couple of days and staying at Embassy suites south a night or two. Maybe you could start a poll of those attending with a couple of times locations and see what works for most? just a thought......

That's a good idea, and once the schedule is released everyone will be better equipped to answer it. Did you go to the last one? I live 25 minutes away and found it a huge mistake to go home each night. We missed a TON! We're staying at the Hilton this time

I just found out my daughters sculpture was accepted for the Expo Fan Art Contest and will be displayed at this year's show. I'm so excited, and have just bought tickets for all three days.

We'll be staying at the Marabella Hotel. I've stayed there before and liked it a lot. Very close.
